What part did Sam play in all of these that you can recall?

Read Sam the Skunkman's posting about the Haze Brothers with great interest and wanted to clear up a few things. First, I was there in Santa Cruz in the Seventies when it was all happening and never heard the original growers refer to themselves as the Haze Brothers. The infamous Haze Brothers did actually exist, but they were consumers, not growers.
How do I know? I was one of those three brothers and we bought, smoked and shared as much Haze as probably anyone on the planet. We were originally herb connoisseurs from back east who had grown up on the best Columbian, Jamaican, Panama Red, Thai Stick, etc. But even with our backgrounds, we had never seen, smelled or smoked anything like the Haze. The first time we saw those dark purple buds, we could hardly believe it (nor the price, which was $250 per ounce). From that point on, it became the Dom Perignon of our stashes.
So as far as the tasting test with R from High Times Magazine in New York, it did happen and we roasted, toasted and basted him with three varieties of Haze. He was kind of cocky when we got there and more like cold-cocked when we left. Even with all the high quality weed out there today, I don't think any of it is better or more exotic than the first Purple Haze, which was so dark and delicious, we called it the Root Beer.
Two last notes. First, there was a band, The Original Haze, that played in clubs around Santa Cruz in the Seventies that was part of the story. Second, for those rare few who were lucky enough to own one, there was a beautiful, limited edition grower's poster, that listed the soil ingredients, directions and Haze philosophy, In Haze We Trust. The last line of the poster read "Enjoy!" and we lived by that motto.
So that's the story behind the story.
What was publish in icmag about the topic that was erase?
How does the High Times from 1981 that includes pics of Kush grown by The Haze Bros fit into this?
R was Rob Clarke, right?
The Haze Bros as Sam tells the tale is just him and Rob Clarke. High Times, Ed Rosenthal, Mel Frank and a few others have assisted them in promulgating their lies for a couple of decades now, between them they have pulled the wool over the eyes of the ganja world for far too long.

Big Herb, How can you possibly accept Hooteroll's version of the Haze Brother's story as fact, when surely the one thing that the fabulous Haze saga has taught us, is that the most convincing of tales, may be little more than dressed up bullshit? I thought you would have been cured of accepting every story at face value after my lighthearted pasticheDon't tell me that you Americans don't get irony
Of course, maybe the Haze Brother's were no more than connoisseurs turned distributor's....but that's a big maybe based on one anonymous post![]()
all things come to light n as i said one day soon i hope to rewrite history ,youll see
just look at happyhi verison of events ,it supports this verison posted by hooteroll
please dont get it confused im not basing my opinion on just one post ,im from the concrete jungle
i dont gamble wit my money lifes a gamble ,rite now ill bet my life the story we all kno is fabricated b.s.

bigherb no offense but what is there to re write nothing all that had to be sed has been the people that have real haze have posted and in short the person i believe is shanti not saying this because i am posting this in mr nice forum far from it see big its like this people lie plants do not shanti has always been up front and very honest with all his customers why he is were he is in the cannabis community his work speaks for its self his customer service speaks volumes about his ethics and his efforts to do right by his customers.
The haze line starts and ends with nev, whether you want to go forwards or backwards. It was first offered at the seed bank and nevs has won all awards associated with haze.
no offence taken
i came hear to mns becaz of people such as yourself /L33T/ british hempire/herbalizor/ shanti /neville/ and becaz of l33t post of taste/aromas that is soo very similar to my exact experiences of nyc haze before i had the chance to sample mns hybrids
First off id like to say wat some of you percieve as my pain in the ass persistancy is actually a everblazing passion of haze which i believe is starting to pay off
MUCH RESPECT TO ALL
but really now
the parents of mns haze ABC are far from well documented
specifically frankincense/incense trait has not been reported by shanti nor SAMS but both recognize this trait in haze
the oldschoolhazes that nevile released as clones are far from well documented ,they still survive today in south holland.its true an upsetting more info is available elsewhere such as ic n thcfarmer becaz of machaze n yosemitesam
sidenote non of those OSH consist of skunk lineage yet many mns hybrids do
the origins of haze article that both jesse n BH present is a vast majority of info available on the net ,some from the thread i started ,i consider myself young n exspect you all to hav maybe somthin more from CW or wateva sites that old info was posted
BH said once before shanti wasnt in holland wen neville first worked wit the haze , i believe neville has much info to offer
happyhi has given us descriptions on the four varieties which sams spoke a bit about but not wit half as much detail ,if you read both post of origins many connections that make sams seem to hav given the story half ass wit lies, also these last lines
Second, for those rare few who were lucky enough to own one, there was a beautiful, limited edition grower's poster, that listed the soil ingredients, directions and Haze philosophy, In Haze We Trust. The last line of the poster read "Enjoy!" and we lived by that motto.
as i might say connecting dots this is just one my friend happyhi's story complies much soo in his report of the brothers being consumers and i believe HH is the only one to date to show the growers poster hooteroll refers to
now if you wish to believe that the haze started n ended wit neville fine but honestly in your heart ,your kidding yourself as you kno better
there is much to be written since most info comes from SAMS who has made endless contradictions,my info is not available on the net
it seems people no longer care or are uninterested its upsetting that the man wit many contradictions stories are wat is believed,as for the history n origins i kno its not that cut n dry/easy as i wish ,ive recent realized after talking wit tomhill an others ,if your not in ur late fifties or older there is very slim chance you experienced OHAZE
since ive first come on the net ive asked everyone/anyone there experience with ohaze particulary taste/aromas since then ive gotten not more than a hanful of responses
im sure some others will question or lol
im not goin to report anything else until ive compiled my info and im ready to tell the real story. my wish is to give the TRUE origins of haze from santa cruz to NYC

I don't believe happyhi's story at all, just doesn't fit with what others have told me, I spent a long time researching this subject, long before Jesse wrote his article, I've spoken to all kinds of offline people and I've pretty much ironed out the story, problem is, it just causes endless debate and argument and I'm sick of it, have been for a long time.
Hempy, nevilel bought a seed collection from an old hippy in NYC in 1986, then claimed his '1969 Haze Bros Haze' came from this seed acquisition. Well, there certainly was a shitload of Haze shipped to NYC by the BOEL, it was grown in Hawaii and shipped to the US in vacuum packed packages with a dragon label on them. The BOEL's biggest market by far was NYC, if you go through the Senate papers of the BOEL hearings, there is a ton of detail about where their weed was grown, where it was shipped to, how it was smuggled etc.
Neville was a very smart guy, he undoubtedly heard this story and by telling people he got his Haze in NYC would tie into the truth about where the original Haze came from - Hawaii then mostly shipped to NYC.
All the California Haze tales are just obfuscating the truth, those Hawaiian Haze shipments were commanding insane prices, hundreds of dollars for an ounce, so you can bet that every grower in Cali was desperate to get a piece of that action for themselves. There were very, very few seeds in those Haze parcels from Hawaii, most were sensimilla, some had one or two seeds in a pound. I expect every single seed that was found was grown out, hoping to find something they could sell as Haze. Also, every grower with his own quality sativa strain would have been trying to sell his crop as Haze.
Problem is, the original Haze from Hawaii was so distinctive in taste and smell that it's very hard to find something similar, hence all these stories of different Hazes - silver, purple, rootbeer, whatever. I'm reliably told by more than one source that the original Haze taste once experienced is never forgotten. The Cali Hazes are all imitations of the real thing. Sam's story about the Haze Bros beginning their work in 1971 is way too late, the BOEL was falling apart by then and the Haze from Hawaii had dried up.
What really casts doubt on Neville's version being the real Haze from Hawaii is that you can't find that distinctive Haze taste in any of Neville's Haze variants, so either Neville got seeds that weren't Haze unknowingly, or he took a high quality sativa hybrid of some other origins and called it Haze.
It's all academic now, Neville's Hazes are great, obviously they contained some very special genes from Colombia and Thailand, but the exact origins and lineage we will never know, just as we will never know what G13 really was and where it came from, and to be honest, does it really matter? Grow the friggin plants and enjoy em, that is what matters.
Big the proof is in the seed reality is often looking you in the face.
Big well documented ? what are you on about mate why does Neville or even Shanti need to enxplane there travels or work to any one or any of us like its there duty lol come on mate reality check here please there duty to you or any one of us is to offer us the genetics stated on there strain info full stop the fact mr nice offers a customer service second to nun and has in my book some of the best genetics on the market is all you need the fact shanti has posted a lot more info than any breeder about there lines threw the years is more than any one can expect.
Big i have sat with shanti and asked him about the mr nice haze there is nothing mystical or magical about the story fact is the haze brothers were growers not breeders fact is the made seeds each year for there commercial grow and struck gold fact Neville collected seeds and the fact Neville got hold of the oldest and best haze witch is offered still today upsets a few it seams im starting to thing people don't like the fact Neville collected what he did achieved what he did life .
Big the proof is in the seed reality is often looking you in the face.
By the way big show me were it is posted were Neville collected his haze seeds from and from who it has not ever been posted on or has the person or persons Neville collected it from ever been posted about that is fact well posted by people that know.
Big stop believing every person that posts believe the people that know one of witch is the person that runs the seed company this forums for yes that would be shanti.
