I wish you the best on your attempt at recreating somthing such as haze ,Those Genetics are Special .I hope too see any report on this project

While im Soo very interested in Indian genetics i havnt found much info ,I understand from north to south the gentics are very diverse an we can find somthin spicy an incense like in some of the indian types (my fav) .But i would Lean more toward the colombian side to give it the haze title

Somthin to ponder on

The thing about recreating a haze is it will never be The Cruz haze ,It will be your own .The Genetics that were available back then are Gone or VERY very rare an almost impossible to obtain .Also to recreate the effect of the Cruz haze you would have to Grow the plant outdoor or in a green house because the effects of an indoor 4 month plant wont compare to the 9 months outdoors in which the haze was Grown

I am a new member here, but not new to the boards.

I have been reading this thread page by page with great interest. Something hoterol wrote got my attention when he talks about Haze from Hawaii.

Now about 1975 I was hitch hiking with my friend in a town called Puyallup Washington USA. We were picked up by a long haired guy and offered to smoke some of our stash with him, some $10 per ounce Mexican Brick Weed. He didn't accept our offer, but but counter offered with some Hawaiian he had. He told us it cost $200 per ounce, that he had bought it in Alaska.Back then many people in Washington State would accept work in Alaska, to work some season fishing job or live on a camp free of charge. Once they got done they had a lot of money to party on once they got home. Those were the funnest people to party with in those days.

My friend Tony loaded the bong in the back seat and Harley (the driver) said, Be careful, this stuff is expando weed. I thought wtf, what does expando mean? I heard the cough cough cough from Tony and seen water coming from his eyes. He loaded the bong for me. Again, Harley said this stuff is really expando.

I took a hit and I did the cough cough cough for what seemed like an eternity. Water from my eyes, but when they cleared I was very stoned. The most stoned I had ever been.

Harley let us off on the main road and we had to walk two miles to my home. The high was very psychodelic and just come on in waves, higher and higher. We were laughing and falling all over ourselves on the two mile walk. It was like LSD. I had never been so high before, although in the following years I did try just about every drug available. Once we got to my house everyone was asleep and there were two cherry pies cooling on the counter. Laughing and hysteria followed my cutting the pie, whereas Tony said I looked like some mad slasher as I cut up the pie and dropped vanilla ice cream on it. After a two mile walk we were still tripping and high as fuck.

Since there I have smoked just about everything.... Colombians, Thais, Panama, skunks, you name it... yet I have never seen or heard of anything to compare to that Hawaiian. I have been to Hawaii several times and never seen anything like it there either. I would give anything to get some more of that stuff. I would give anything and wait any amount of time to flower something like this. All I can imagine is that I was smoking a legendary Haze.

Hi Guiness,
Thanks for sharing your story with us, it sounds like we all have a story or two about a line which for whatever reason really stuck with us. I have seen my share of phantom lines which were absolutely superb in quality, Trinity, Hindu Kush and Afghani come to mind almost immediately.

The MNS Haze lines are the haze varieties which the legend was ultimately built off of, which is no doubt due to the various haze hybrids amazing quality but also its success has to be noted in such famed publications as High Times, in particular the High Times Cannabis Cup which many in the underground sub culture put significant weight on. There is little question High Times has had an impact in shaping the industry itself.

When folks talk about THE Haze variety, they are in particular speaking of the prized winning haze hybrids such as Northern Lights x Haze, Super Silver Haze, Jack Herer, Mango Haze etc. As its these hybrids which were marketed and sold to customers all over the world based of a particular set of genetics acquired by Nevil Schoenmakers, the father of the modern cannabis seed industry.

The haze lines are so incredible I have found that it is often difficult to pick against them when electing to grow a variety as their quality is not questionable in nearly all cases pertaining to MNS stock. It should be noted that there are other varieties of cannabis also described as Haze, but which are not directly related to the prized winning Haze genetically here at MNS but which carry the title none the less. Whether it be through marketing purposes, or a general overall description based on a loose interpretation of the defining of haze. Which is not concrete, however there is a focus within the Haze spectrum which generally is described as prize winning and a foundational building block and then a more generalized description given to lines of a more sativa nature which may or may not be similar in design to the prized winning strain known as haze which has a robust and controversial history.

As always thanks for reading my friends :)
