I was unaware of argentine marino ram being a sheep breed , its all clear now guess I was too stoned to get joke..and yeah seems sarcasm is hard to tell on message boards sometimes like Skunkha pointed out.. I just edited my first post and deleted my initial reply.

Hiya grover

I ve read and heard so much extraordinary claims and bullshit in cannabis forums that it seems I ve lost my ability to tell whats BS and whats not! poor me! LOL

welcome bushweed

Couldn't stand the suspense any longer, so I pm'ed British Hempire to get the latest goss on the origins of Haze. He finally replied, saying he still wasn't ready to publish his findings as he was awaiting verification from a professor of marijuana mythology at the University of South Wales. He did however give me some absolutely mind boggling tidbits:

1. The true identity of Sam Skunkman aka David Watson is none other than....wait for it....Ed Rosenthal!

2. Sam/Dave/Ed had been working with British intelligence as early as 1939 to develop an exploding Superskunk cigarette in the assassination of Adolf Hitler!

3. The true origins of Haze was British, that the famous Brother's Haze referred to the Brothers of Eternal Love - a cabal of expat poms, of which Old Timer was a founding member.

4. The origin of the Haze that Neville Schoenmaker acquired was from none other than the Mullumbimby Madness that arrived in Holland with Shanti.

5. Neville had married his love of sheep breeding and marijuana breeding and was somewhere in New Zealand developing a cross between an Argentine Marino Ram and a Columbian sativa.

Not wanting to believe such a fantasy I wrote back to BH to suggest he was talking BS, inventing a story to make it seem like his countrymen were the only keepers of the Truth on the Origins of Haze. He told me to fuck off he wasn't Dalai Hempy.

So I pm'ed Sam Skunkman over at ICmag to guage his reaction. He neither acknowledged nor denied that he was Ed Rosenthal, he said it was a coincidence that he was a former jeweler who just so happened to live in the Amsterdam's Jewish quarter. He did however say that the Mullumbimby Madness brought to Holland by Shanti was in fact developed by him in the 70's when he was visiting Byron Bay!

I then pm'ed Hempy to get some Earthy wisdom and see what he had to say. He basically said that both OT and SamS were liars and that the Haze was probably a Thia.

SamS did offer me some pure CBD, non-THC buds that were stronger than valium if I would keep his identity quiet. I kinda wish I'd taken him up on his offer. Who needs to smoke haze when you can trip out more just bullshitting about it?

If ever there was a need to prove that marijuana causes brain damage, this thread and the one over at ICmag would probably provide it.:D

Great first post:D

I'll tell you something about L33t, he may miss a literary devise occasionally, but his growing productions are the 'edge of the art'...he is passionate about his historical knowledge of haze also as others here.

welcome :D

Hummmm, i know they did have UFO's (Germans), but Superskunk exploding cigarettes ala 007, that's new for me.Superskunk is a very very oldskool strain than :D Ed looks very young for a 90 years old guy.:p

Namaste

hi Skunkha

Well if its a joke what can I say other than I guess this person must have a lot of free time and not knowing what to do with it and that there must be something wrong with this person if he came here and registered just to make some black humor and insult the host by calling him a lier..

In my world this is not funny..

Anyway I just replied out of curiosity and of course I don't really take seriously claims that are not backed up by proof

agreed 100%

i was excited to reply becaz ihad seen this post briefly this morning n didnt catch the BS after fallin out at 2:30 gettin up at 6:30 still lit like the moonlight .

Hiya Hempy

Sometimes difficult, overall, relationships can be very good:) wishing you the best:D

I always thought you wrote your way as an antidote against the bots or something:cool:

Here is a pure haze I worked with over the years: The purple stemmed version is more tolerant of nitrogen fertilizers...the leaf curl on the right is a branch of the green version...both were top-dressed with a handful of earthworm casts which resulted in the green one "clawing".

Black Widow as a pollen source:p

Fact vs. Fiction

Read Sam the Skunkman's posting about the Haze Brothers with great interest and wanted to clear up a few things. First, I was there in Santa Cruz in the Seventies when it was all happening and never heard the original growers refer to themselves as the Haze Brothers. The infamous Haze Brothers did actually exist, but they were consumers, not growers.

How do I know? I was one of those three brothers and we bought, smoked and shared as much Haze as probably anyone on the planet. We were originally herb connoisseurs from back east who had grown up on the best Columbian, Jamaican, Panama Red, Thai Stick, etc. But even with our backgrounds, we had never seen, smelled or smoked anything like the Haze. The first time we saw those dark purple buds, we could hardly believe it (nor the price, which was $250 per ounce). From that point on, it became the Dom Perignon of our stashes.

So as far as the tasting test with R from High Times Magazine in New York, it did happen and we roasted, toasted and basted him with three varieties of Haze. He was kind of cocky when we got there and more like cold-cocked when we left. Even with all the high quality weed out there today, I don't think any of it is better or more exotic than the first Purple Haze, which was so dark and delicious, we called it the Root Beer.

Two last notes. First, there was a band, The Original Haze, that played in clubs around Santa Cruz in the Seventies that was part of the story. Second, for those rare few who were lucky enough to own one, there was a beautiful, limited edition grower's poster, that listed the soil ingredients, directions and Haze philosophy, In Haze We Trust. The last line of the poster read "Enjoy!" and we lived by that motto.

So that's the story behind the story.
