When in doubt, play the science card....lmao!

Science is a tool, a very strong and powerful tool. It's also a methodology... a methodology that is much more powerful that 'intuition', ignorance, or fear. Science may appear magical to those that don't understand it, but let's not forget that slight of hand also appears magical to the ignorant. There is simply nothing magic about science once you understand that it as a process for learning about the world around us, nothing more - nothing less.
A breeder that knows and understands the science behind their selection processes is a much better equipped individual to make selections, and thus progress within their lines.
Science doesn't replace art, it just enhances it... and a breeder that understands science, only has a more equipped tool-box to use in their breeding schemes.
A foolish carpenter uses a hammer to put a screw into wood, and a foolish carpenter tries to whack a nail into wood with a screwdriver. Intelligent carpenters use the appropriate tool for the job, and any carpenter worth their salt carries a well equipped trailer containing many tools so that when a situation arises that requires a specific tool, the carpenter has the tool on hand to effectively and efficiently complete the task at hand.
How many carpenters do you know that show up on site with a hammer, and chisel and a hand saw? I don't know any that I would choose to work on my projects.
Don't fear science, learn from it... you'll be more effective in your selections.
