The origins of Haze

JessE,

I have to say in defense of Joaquin that I also fail to see the proof which corroborates the fact that Sam was arrested in California in the 80's...

I do not say it did not happen but there is no proof of that in those documents.

Peace.

K.

Kash,
As I have said in the past, there are many questions lingering on the issue. However for Joaquin to claim this information is simply made up, well, the information Ive provided suggest otherwise.

Im surprised to see you come to Joaquin's defense, considering his history on exactly what I called him out for. He would have others believe, the VPRO story Shanti mentioned, and that I discussed with VPRO themselves, is made up. However the evidence suggest otherwise doesnt it?

Not so long ago, none of this information was known. In fact, for a decade plus this information somehow, despite thousands of posters from all over the world, on various forums, failed to make its way to public discussion. Despite the loads of information on the subject from Dutch media on wards. Ive myself put an enormous amount of time into the subject, and know it fairly well. In fact, who else has not only presented their work, but defended here at the forum?

Now to do all the work, and answer all the questions, in the face of rude and often times trouble some posters, strikes me as ambitious, yet is something that seems to be expected, only not practiced, by others. For those who want to call bullshit, what say you about the mountains of evidence to suggest otherwise?

I believe what Nevil said. Sam's stories are too varied, self serving, and contradictory.

For the most part the Haze legend began when Nevil made some excellent hybrids with it, and spread them worldwide. The true history prior to that is unknowable. Aside from the fact that he got it from Sam.

IMO

For those who want to call bullshit, what say you about the mountains of evidence to suggest otherwise?

I say this is Shanti's house, and if Shanti sez its
water under the bridge n that SamS is his friend,
then we should respect his opinion on the matter.

Shanti is not concerned with it. Fact.
There is nothing we can do about the past.
We cannot possibly gain anything in this fight.
We have bigger fish 2 fry @ present, JessE.
This appears 2 b an issue 4 Sam n Nevil.

Bcuz it really has nuthin' 2 do wit us...

Bcuz Shanti calls Sam a friend...

I say we let Sam b.:)

Fresh,
Its incredibly frustrating to see you summarize such a serious issue up into a one liner about it being an issue between Nevil and Sam. If that were the case, do you honestly think I would put so much time into looking into the issue? The information surrounding Sam's arrest is just one piece, of an intricate puzzle, that all ultimately directly correlates to what you, me, and everyone else does on a regular basis at these boards. It has a direct connection to the plants we grow and love, and ultimately to how legislation in numerous countries is designed based around the contributions of Sam and his partner, R.C Clarke to the medical marijuana community. Which unfortunately, is designed to foil the very thing we all love so much, while pushing their project designed to make millions.

The article from Bas Barkman, the VPRO interview, the Ikreeger document, Hortapharm's connection with academia whose research is designed to target people just like us, but also to GW Pharmaceuticals (the bigger fish you mentioned we have to fry) are all ultimately connected. The dutch media reports, the conflicting statements from Sam, I could go on and on and on. There is no question Sam has contributed a great deal to our community, but if the information which leaves no question as to his contributions are to be believed, what about the rest of the information?

This doesnt effect the thousands of posters at Icmag, who post with their IP information readily available? At a website which overlooks, and covers up, a mountain of evidence which suggest perhaps they should not? Maybe its the fact Ive put many hours into this, and have had to deal with so many assholes, that I am attached to this subject? Or maybe its the fact I think its far more serious than you're giving it credit for Fresh? But something tells me to minimize this situation, when it spent a decade hidden from the public's view and is still brushed under the rug, isnt the best idea of all time.

Please know I meant u no disrespect JessE.;)

I know u have spent a gr8 deal of time on this.
I certainly dont disagree wit the points u make,
n I do see it as a relatively important issue m8.

But I c the other side of the coin...

Shanti asked us 2 let this go as it is the past...

I would consider it a luxury 2b able 2concern
myself with such things as this, to be honest.

Translation: I have my own problems!

I wish I did hav time 2 figure it out...

But I don't n I can't n
thats jus me bein real.
Hope u can respekdat.

Here's a little thread from IC that I find very interesting.

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=142782&highlight=boel

Take it for whats it's worth. It's not about haze specifically and there is no mention of Sam, etc. But there are a few things that will make you scratch your head and wonder.

We'll never know for sure, but I think it's very likely they originally brought the genetics here. They grew out seeds from the finest imports they found, worldwide.
Then others including Sam had the genetics, then Nevil had them, now everybody has them :)

Who we should really thank is the clans that worked the lines involved in whatever location they originally came from?
Or hell, why not thank everybody? Nevil, Sam, Shanti, the mysterious "Haze Bros.", BoEL, Whoever originally grew them out in California, everybody.
Thanks Guys!

Here's a book about BoEL, it's more focused on the LSD though, which they were more known for.
The Brotherhood of Eternal Love

So true. If anybody is to be given credit it should be the peasant farmers around the globe who grew these amazing genetics that we all can experience.

Or better yet, maybe we should give thanks to God, Mother Nature, Shiva, or whatever it is you worship who put the plant here in the first place.

Hi All

as I did my best to get things exposed as close to fact as I know, it is now time to weigh up the facts that are exposed and choose which story you prefer to believe. As I said Nev and Sam did work together exchanging things till they did not see eye to eye any longer...what is true and what people can hypothesize about will always have a difference since there are several sides to this....But the fact is, we at MNS have been making the same lines for so long and tested all things as well as invited others to test openly and post their findings. All the threads on seeds are of seeds sold in our range from independent growers world wide.We do not try to hide anything nor stop or censor posts. So you all believe what you wish to believe but for me the proof is in the seed.

Now saying all that, some people have spent time reviewing all the information from all sources and the Dutch media do have things on record, so it is not all myth. Conspiracy theories will always continue to build since so many different people exist in this world...all i say is that I live nowadays with things I worked with the last 20plus years...these are real and I would not have spent so much time and effort on them if there was nothing to the merit of them.

I wish you all calm research for yourselves but the beating of an old drum will not bring back the original vibrations of the first beat! We will all need to draw a point in the sand in time on this and several other stories, if we wish to go on with the job and do better work. My advice is to concerntrate on the plant rather than the hands who passed it on no matter who thinks who is important. it is all irrelevant or meaningless if you never tried a Haze grow, and that will not depend on the father nor the son nor the holy ghost nor the Haze brothers....

All the best sb

I think this is more appropriate!

Some Aussies kicking it up a storm:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98I85ceICRM

'Back In the begining... back in 1969...
Man didn't know 'bout a weed called Haze...
and all that shite...'

My point being, some Aussie fellas are growing it up a storm and will hopefully be replacing Haze with something else for us to bitch, fight and argue over before long...

Like Shanti said, let's draw a line under the Haze story and move on to better work...

In short 'Let There Be Rock!'

:) All rude boy crew hold tight!!

Bon Scott mate !!!!!!! I saw Acca Dacca at Brisbanes festival Hall in 1980 and Ive never been the same . Seeing the Dead Kennedys a couple of years later finished the job.

For me, seeing ACDC in 91 in Manchester was a key moment, seeing Slayer a couple of year later finished the job...

They called ACDC 'The Thunder from Down Under'...

I'm keenly awaiting the Thunder from Down Under to hit the cannabis scene, sounds like there are some rumblings already....

Its still debated whether the AC/DC crew were aware that AC/DC was a euphemism for same sex relations, and whether they were in fact, some particularly well disguised gay rockers:D

Angus always said he saw AC/DC printed on the back of a sewing machine...

Dunno about Bon Scott and his dodgy tight jeans and bare-chest, but I wouldn't want to suggest to Brian Johnson that he was in any way gay! To suggest such things to a Geordie would result in a violent physical assault most likely! pmsl

Gay?

Aye, reet pal!

Ronald Belford Scott was born on 9 July 1946 at the Fyfe Jamieson Maternity Hospital, Forfar, Scotland to Charles Belford ("Chick") and Isabelle ("Isa") Scott, and grew up in Kirriemuir. A younger brother Derek was born in 1949.[1] The Scott family emigrated from Scotland to Australia in 1952 where they initially lived in the Melbourne suburb of Sunshine.[1] It was at Sunshine Primary School that he received his nickname; there was already a classmate with the name Ronald and as he had recently arrived from Bonnie Scotland he was dubbed "Bon" and the name stuck. A second brother, Graeme, was born in 1953. Bon was the oldest of Derek, Graeme, and Valarie. Bon did have an older brother born before him named Sandy Scott but he died shortly after his birth.

In 1956, the family moved to Fremantle, Western Australia and Bon joined the associated Fremantle Scots Pipe Band, learning the drums.[1] Scott attended John Curtin College of the Arts until he dropped out at the age of 15 and spent a short time in Fremantle Prison's assessment centre and nine months at the Riverbank Juvenile Institution relating to charges of giving a false name and address to the police, having escaped legal custody, having unlawful carnal knowledge and stealing twelve gallons of petrol.[1] He attempted to join the Australian Army but was rejected for being deemed as "socially maladjusted."

Then again, Brian Johnson likes musical theatre...

Since April 2003, Brian Johnson, who says "I love musical theatre, especially the classic stuff, like Rodgers and Hammerstein",[13] has been working on a musical version of Helen of Troy with Sarasota Ballet choreographer, Robert de Warren. The musical is a Les Misérables-style musical with rousing anthems, tender ballads and minimal dialogue. He conceived the project with writers Ian La Frenais, Dick Clement and Brendan Healy after seeing Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, Cats and being underwhelmed at what he saw.

And this I thank you for. I was censored on IC and it left a terrible taste in my mind for them. I had an original thread that made sticky within a week or so at IC. It is called "Questions for sam the skunkman regarding the hindu kush indicas" and I posted it in the Strains and Hybrids forum. I felt proud to have started a thread that became sticky in my favorite sub-forum! For some reason, one day they erased my first few posts in the thread and made it appear as though SpaceGhost was the original poster. My only guess for why they did this was that my avatar was of the Mississippi flag, which has the rebel flag in it and they didn't want that in their stickies.

Oddly enough, around the same time history was being rewritten at IC, I over-clicked and got five packs instead of one of Snowdog Kush during a feeding frenzy of Rez's gear on Seedbay. I still payed up for the entire order and honored all of my bids, even though I didn't need all those seeds. The seeds never arrived. There was no customs letter. Nothing. I have never had a problem receiving seeds before then, and never have since. I tried contacting them about it, which they were slow to reply. They said "mail has been slow lately, we will let you know". I contacted them over the weeks, and was pretty much ignored.

Conspiracy? I like to think so. I used the same username on seedbay as I used on icmag.

yes I am venting, yes I am pissed, yes I am still sore over it. Censorship is wrong.

I have seen a lot of back and forth on these forums, some "negative", but it is not censored. This arguing and debate may seem like bickering to some, but the truth is this is how things are hashed out in life. Yah, sometimes feelings are hurt, sometimes people are "offended" but at least everyone is heard. You don't have a right to not be offended, but everyone has a right to speak what they will. Besides, without strong personalities and the inevitable clashes that ensue... life is kinda boring.

Whew.. getting that off my chest feels better... especially my spite for IC and Seedbay. And now I retire to the shadows, lurking with my current MNS' NL5xHaze and Seedsman's Skunk Haze seedlings... discovering for myself who has the best Haze these daze...

that seedbay is a joke, your not the first and certainly wont be the last person not to recive their order.. my advice, steer well clear of the place..

Hi all :

why don t we try and make our own hazes?

grab 4 sativa landraces spread around the globe n go for it , cross them.
must be much more fun than be here quarreling so much about .

gm

This is eventually a goal of mine.. or at least to make a solid attempt.

I have Colombian Gold & Colombian Black genetics, a Mango Phenotype Highland Thai, and Acapulco Gold on the Mexican side of the genetics. I am in the process of obtaining some South Indian genetics (including Shilavati). Hopefully I will be able to do something with these in hopes to recreate something similar to haze.

This is eventually a goal of mine.. or at least to make a solid attempt.

I'll meet you in India Krazyglue! Just let me know when your ready and I'll get my ticket. I've been wanting to travel to remote locations to find genetics for years now. Even before I started growing. I always thought that if I start growing, I want to have the best.

Best Regards
