It's a shame you couldn't keep them going mate, those Ortega flowers looked amazing
You did nearly make me spray my cup of tea everywhere when you said 'It smelt fruity and skunky, but now it smells like meat and shit!'
F#ckin hell mate that was funny
I must say I bought some Ortega seeds and all the grow reports leave me gasping to try it.....I've never tried any Mr Nice produce, ever, I'm sorry to say
yes those plants were apparently of the 'cured lunch meat, gone high' variety apparently lol. i just returned to this thread today and liked all the responses : )
ran a crop between then and now of jordan of the islands seeds and learned the valuable lesson of planting in numbers and now i am back with the mns gear. 13 seeds (actually 12. had a dampening off on an mks seed), 7 nl5 skunk and 5 master kush skunk
the joti grow had wild variation, and only one plant worthy of keeping. planting 13 seeds (the max the rubbermaid tote will allow) really put things into perspective. out of the romulan x hot rod and afghani there was an outlier in each strain quite noticeable as seedlings by the stem rub and terpenes, and the keeper was the aghani
the romulan x hot rod plants had a racy high and headachy lingering burnout and two had nasty meaty poopy terps. the outlier, which bouquet dominated the grow of sweetened condensed milk, grew ultra fast and produced as much as all other plants combined and finished the fastest at six and a half weeks, but the high was racy and left a burnout
but the keeper afghani was the goldy locks plant for effects. warm come up, long enjoyable high, then dissolves with no burnout. takes two hits rather than the usual one hit and the plant grows very slow, like all the others save the producer.
so will see if i can find an msn plant to replace the afghani. they all seem to be outgrowing the joti plants that is for sure (save the producer/outlier)
i notice 4 of the nl5 skunk are perfect looking and 3 are variegated with deformity. only two of them have noticeable stem/petiole rubs and although subtle they are quite nice, both from the perfect looking plants. keeping my eye on these
the mks are a week or so behind, and the large plant is the afghani (when i discovered high nitrogen fertilizer again lol). will add the high n pellets to the rest of the crop and future crops. actually will just mix the 4-4-8 and the 7-3-3 pellets 50/50 going forward
not to start another grow journal though, will probably just check back in or start a new thread after harvest with some pics and a report when i have smoked and made a selection
