I use a dropper rig similar to this, with a 3 to 4 ounce lead weight on the bottom, 6/0 hook with half a pilchard for bait, 20lb nylon for the mainline and 30lb for the dropper rig,Hard to tell here, are you using a slip rig on the bottom, bobber fishing, or? Doesn't look like your are casting. What is the breaking strength of your line rated at, @eazynz?

A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work!!Snapper mainly Uncle Jack, but catch a few Trevally there also.
caught absolutely nothing, was a nice night regardless
Thanks @charlesufarley, the great outdoors some good bud and a chance to catch some foodA bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work!!
Beautiful photograph!
I use a few different rigs, that spot has a very rocky bottom where you get snagged easily, the dropper rig is good when your sinker gets snagged in the rocks your bait is still easily accessible for any fish.I use that helicopter type setup for fishing, we generally as a rule don't put the swivel up on the mainline as it's not safe and causes fish to be tethered/trawling tackle and if you have the lead to close to the hook length it's a pivit point for the fish to use the lead to escape. It gererally doesn't tangle on the cast. I'd sooner have that swivel where the bottom bead is for fish safty and rig mechanics.
