Marbled newt? Heard of newts. Are they similar to lizards or geckos? What’s their skin like to touch?
"A newt is a salamander belonging to the subfamily Pleurodelinae within the family Salamandridae, characterized by its semiaquatic lifestyle, alternating between terrestrial and aquatic habitats."

Yes, it's a Marbled Newt.
I quickly tried to feed it a few insects before releasing it, I noticed that its skin was not "oily" like that of toads, for example.
They are also unable to climb walls like geckos and they move very slowly.
It is a very fragile species but very cool.

I don't know if it's the same species than the one at the top.🤔 It appears to have the same morphology as the Marbled Newt.

Edit : In fact, it is one of the many subspecies (difficult to say which one) of the common salamander.

A little collaboration with a fellow photography student, my helper, Rachel. This week I am helping her with Macro Photography and she is helping me with Post-Processing Editing.

Rachel took this picture with my Macro Lens on my Crop Sensor camera. There were 3 electrical lines going thru the picture but she edited them out. Nice job! The 'Wishing Well' is just a cover for my well pump. Out here it's well water and septic tanks, and damn lucky we got electricity! And those dang wires!
