Mango Haze IBL- The Eternal Flame

Aloha fellow firewalkers!
It is still early, the first week of flower, the mango is coming along. Looks like the girl in the front could use another flush. She is getting better (new growth) but still looks a little peaked. In general, all have good lower branching, better to receive pollen
. I will pollinate ASAP then wait 30-45 days before cutting these lower branches off with mature seed and letting the plant devote it's energy to flower in the upper, remaining branches.

Welcome to the Mango Room! This grow is not without some f*ups. Left an overhead light on for 24 hours, aargh. Unplanned stress testing lol. Anyway, it looks like I am finally settling down. Plants are in burst mode, standing at 45" this morning. The lights were at 12/12 last week, they are set to 11/13 now.
The males? I did mention f*ups right? I placed them in another room with a timer only to find out that the switch was set to ON. So they have been in 24 hour light for 48 hours! Fk,fk,fk. Okay so they might take a little longer to show pollen.

I will say that it has been an unusual start. What with me goofing up lighting in the main room as well as in the male room. Having seeds germinate after I had binned then for non-germination and retrieving them. So I finally have all the timers in sync and went in the pollen room to inspect the MHI males this morning to see if they had reverted to veg with all my shenanigans- what a surprise! A last minute female, making it #8, with just 2 males to work with now lol. Put down the hash pipe mon!

Welcome to the Mango room! It is where connoisseurs seek refuge. A world class plant this IBL. It has many of the things I look for. It has the fib sequence down, with uniform nodal spacing; a sturdy, red striped main stem with red/maroon petioles, good secondary branching, numerous bud sites. The ladies are all uniform in height and morphology save for the he/she I found and the other with her pH problems. Those two are coming along slowly but they will catch up as there is a hardiness to these plants. Now in the 3rd week of florescence, they now stand approx 142cm today without support and already giving off a slight fruitiness with attendant stickiness. There is nothing like a well put together woman to get the blood going and her outward appearance is just the cherry on top. And I do have some high "test" males in the other room ready to raise hell lol. Very soon, no plant in the room will be safe

And what of the girl with earlier digestive problems? MHI #3 was flushed but then I intentionally left her swamped to see how she would fare under LED's. I believe @Swifty is right about plants not remedying under LED's. While she may have gotten over the pH problems as evidenced by new growth, her metabolism did not kick up as far as water absorption- still showing signs of wet feet. So she remained dwarfed and retarded. Sometimes I miss the heat of my HPS setup. I will go ahead now after my little experiment and repot her in some drier soil and continue to observe and learn.

F2 me baby! So, I had a chance to dig in the foliage and it's true, all plants that received MHI pollen have responded including the Mangoes!

looks like a retractable lanyard for keys/swipe cards
^^^ righto! Retractable badge lanyards; some call them zingers or zinger retractables. Awhile ago, I bot a bunch (50) from AMZN for cheaper than the same thingies bot at plant or fishing store. Snap end works perfect for the stem. I then loop the other end on the bamboo. Retractable, easily adjustable

Right now, a crowded room so I brush up against them when watering- smells like mango on that side of the room lol. While the other plants in the room are throwing off spice n citrus. The Mangoes have slowed in vertical growth after their initial flower surge and are now bulking up. She’s a very special plant that ticks many boxes.

I agree with others that I would like to see a widow cross. Since you love the AC crosses, why not Widow/AC x MHI.
