G13 Haze - 2024 Outdoor Canadian Grown

Greetings MNS Aficionados!

Finally got the light raised up. Not the easiest of tasks. At this stage of growth, there is room for just 4 plants behind the shed:

The fifth & smallest female, in the Air-pot, had to be moved out, off to the side, next to Male #1. The other males are gone now, as they failed to outshine #1. Will work on the bamboo over the next couple days.

Cheers! - FF

Greetings to All MNS Aficionados!

It's been quite wet around here, lately, so I'm a bit behind on my chores; but trying to keep up with them. Growth has been good so far, from what I can tell, but this is my time growing this, under any conditions. Hard to know what & when to expect things to happen on schedule.

I would say the flower response has been a little slower than I thought it would happen. Maybe it's a lack of something, like light. Not being intense enough, for long enough periods.

Being 50% indica, I thought it would have bigger buds by this stage. Could be part genetic & part environmental. Cutting down their light cycle, by light dep would be the logical first step. But due to my tight conditions, I haven't worked out the ideal set-up; though it's been on my mind now for a good couple months.

A better foliar spray program would also help, I think. Will try to step up my game there, for the rest of the month.

Can't afford much more horizontal growth, so will ease off on the bending until it reaches the max canopy height; at which point, the bending will resume. They're all due for a good bottom trim / pruning. That will happen with the bamboo input. Believe it or not, it gets pretty windy in that spot. No problem with the air circulation, thankfully.

Cheers! - FF

The bottom row of hook screws (in the wall) forms the line where I hope vertical growth is completed by; or the bending will recommence.

The hook rows are vertically spaced at 6" (in.) intervals. It's a foot long (12") from the bottom screw center, to the top row screw center, below the light. Even if the girls grew up to the second screw level, it would still leave a decent canopy distance, from the light.

I just love the shape of the fan leaf in the bottom center of the above photo. Very Haze dominant; certainly the most Haze dominant of them all, in terms of its morphology.

20240819_125539.jpg

The bottoms will likely get trimmed up a bit, to boost top growth into the light. Buds aren't big enough yet to warrant a photo. The male buds are a bit further along than the girls, and it's still just in the beginning stages.

Cheers! - FF

This last photo isn't the greatest, admittedly, but I share it merely for perspective, to give a sense of how far it is from reaching max canopy height, in relation to the bottom hook screws. Will they max out? Let's see.

The two plants not directly beneath the light can afford to stretch a few extra inches, if necessary; but the one plant most likely to do that is the one in the Air-pot.

The bottom hook screws are shown in all photos to give a sense of distance to max canopy height. Keep in mind the vertical distance between hook screws is 6" (in.); and the light is at least 18" (in.) above the bottom hooks; and at least 12" (in., or a foot) above the middle hooks.

Cheers! - FF

Warmest greetings to all MNS Aficionados!

In the first photo, check out the massive shadow, being cast by the neighbor's "giant" tree, over me.

In this next photo, you see the lit-up top of the female runt, on the right side of 'The Dude':

20240823_145645.jpg20240823_145929.jpg

Top of the female runt. I've been covering her at night with a dark green plastic garbage bag, so her bud is more developed than the others:

Next is The Dude. I've "man-handled" him like I'd never do with the girls. He's a little roughed up as a result, but it only toughened him up. Despite the harsh treatment, he has consistently shown good character. Fortunately one of his cuts has finally rooted, so things are looking up there.

... And then there were 3! No room for 4 at this stage of growth: 2 will max-out before the end of the month, if I don't resume their training now:

Female #1: She just spread out too much to stay on the platform, unfortunately. Not sure how much more vertical growth to expect, but there will be no more top training for her, going forward:

20240826_164252.jpg

20240826_164236.jpg20240826_164104.jpg

The bamboo on her will get tethered to the metal pole behind it. The bamboo will get built-out, to support the longest branches. Working on it.

From the opposite end of the platform:

Look at the tops in relation to the height of the bottom hook-screws in the wall:

My photo lighting is a bit "challenged" today. Not sure why, tbh, but the bottom row of hook-screws are almost invisible in this photo, but just imagine a 6" (in.) vertical distance beneath the middle row which is visible:

Photo quality blows today. Apologies for that. Working on it. - FF

Greetings to All, MNS Aficionados!

It's been quite wet her recently, so this is a short break from it, before it's expected to resume for the rest of the evening. While the lighting of these photos is not the greatest, it's a slight improvement over the last ones. I'll take it.

20240828_154710.jpg20240828_154449.jpg20240828_154504.jpg20240828_154600.jpg20240828_154547.jpg20240828_154521.jpg20240828_154549.jpg20240828_154609.jpg20240828_154619.jpg20240828_154628.jpg

That is a jungle to wade through, to work on the plants. ALL 3 are doing their best to breach the "max canopy height" threshold. It is a challenge, going forward, to keep them within the strict limit of the Light.

The light intensity of this 600w LED is less than that of a normal 600w Indoor LED Grow light. That plus the extra wide light beam angle on it, allows for the plants to get within 12" (in.) of it. If the plant directly beneath the light, currently, ends up out-stretching one next to it, a switch-a-roo will happen, with the shorter one.

If I'm looking at continued stretch for the next 2 weeks or more, then oh boy!! LMAO - It's going to be a super tight fit in there. Will cross that bridge when I get there, like they say. Necessity is the Mother of Invention, so I've heard.

When they stop stretching, I'll be in a better spot to figure out how to cover them from Old Man Frost.

A good pruning is warranted, and will happen soon, though I've been reluctant to remove many leaves yet, due to the lighting factor in that grow area/ spot. Probably a good thing to keep the extra solar panels a little longer, to help with optimal root sugar production.

Due to the amount of rain we've been getting, lately, humidity levels have been higher. Improved air flow will benefit the situation, I'm sure. A good pruning will likely occur at the end of the month, to help increase light penetration and air flow.

Will try, now to capture some bud shots.

Cheers! - FF

These buds are typical of most of them, on this plant, except for some of the lower ones. Not too shabby compared to the others, which aren't as far along. I've been covering this one, at official sun down time, since mid-August. Will be interesting to see how she develops over the next 2 months.

These photos, btw, are taken on a super low budget Samsung Android Smart-phone, which explains their quality, or lack of it. Which is why I've included so many similar shots, as a few may be more clear than the others, due to the device plus my inexperience. - FF
