Hi all,
After growing out some DJ blueberry that had no blueberry and some Seni Skunk that contained no skunk I got to wondering if any of the strains I remembered from my youth still existed out there.
This got me thinking about white widdow as this was a staple during the mid/late nineties for me and whilst the smoke itself was never amazing the high always was. So, did some reading, learnt a lot about who said what and made the decision that whilst a few people claim to have the OG widow genetics it seems that only Shantibaba can actually flesh out the arguments with at some validation.
Whilst digging around I also found a quote from him on an old forum that said the prize winning pheno show up in around 1 in 50 plants.
So, I did the only logical thing to do at that point….
… and bought 150 seed over a few actions via the site.
Now, I’ve got no real experience in pheno hunting a strain and have limited space to grow but this is how (I hope) it’s going to go.
My grow space will allow for 16 plants in 7.5l fabric pots (SOG style) but as the seeds are regs I need to account for males in the seeds pop. Using no logic whatsoever, I decided to pop 25 seeds and hope that I get around 16 females and after 24 hours soak in water and 24 in paper towel and a sandwich bag 25 seeds had sprouted.
They were then transferred into rootriot cubes and this was them a few days later….
Just before being put into a 50:50 mix of soil supreme and perlite mix with some added PM granules. This is them at just over three weeks since popping
As you can see, fair bit of variation in the plants and they will stay in those pots until they have built up a solid root ball and then straight into the 7.5l pots, vegged for a week or so before being flipped.
All males will be removed and any plants that go over 10 weeks will be discounted too. Once this cycle is complete, clones will be taken from any girls that show good form and we start again from seed, rinse and repeat till all the seeds are done.
Logistically, I’ve no idea how this is going to work being as it’s probably going to be a two year or so project and keeping clones from each round could prove to be a challenge but will just face those problems as they appear.
Think that’s it for now, mainly going to use this thread to try and keep track of the chaos but looking forward to others coming along for the ride too!

there’s some long flowering ones in there too , and some really quick ones, be nice to see which phenos you get
