The SilverHazed Mind.

Yeah the consitency is a big thing to some, i dont mind if a line i expect something defined from carries it within a variation and a well worked line also is alluring. But the feeling to find a special pheno from a not so homogenous line is one of the greatest pleasures, even if you 'just' grow it and not even think of breeding (if you like sleepless nights after losing it...)
thanks for the heads up.
A G13Hz in the fridge cant hurt can it...?

Aloha MNS family!
5 years ago, back in 2018 we tested these varieties. We got good participation and results for the G13xAS and G13xWid. We didn't get good participation for the other two. Recently we re-introduced a test for the G13xHzAC and this time, the testers were impressed with the results.
As good as Afghan Haze is by itself, I can only imagine what a coupling would be like with the G13. I would propose another test for this G13xAH if I thought we could get the participation needed. Any takers?

Me, pick me please. I want to test me some G13xAH! * Stands up in class with arm raised annoyingly overhead.*

I'd jump at the chance. Let us all know if it becomes a possibility. 😁

I won some AH on the auctions. Those are a few rounds away from being ran.

I know what I'm dreaming about tonight, a SOG of G13xAH. 😴😴☺️☺️😇

@Diesel840 not yet - but i did hit a few other Hazes (HG, AfgHz, MHz, AB,EHz) from the auctions...the G13Hz has not been on the main list.

@musashi testing G13Hz AC or testing G13 Afghan Haze? I may be down, could fire up the small spare tent for a run...i mean it wasnt planned on my schedule but i wouldnt be ignorant to an offer.
Would be a good testrun to get a feel for Mr.Nice gear and also slowly go into the Hz flowering times gradually, guess G13 will make it a bit easier since it (estimated) wont be too nute sensitive or beyond 14wks in general.

I would love to throw my hat in the ring

I promise to give them the love they deserve and a well documented grow report from the beginning to very end (y)

Ok, for those of you who are following my Black Widow and Medicine Man threads, you're aware that I have been having some issues. Several of the SSH are really starting to show issues. Possibly, the new light they are under is too powerful, even at 40%? It could be exacerbating the existing issues.

I have been loath to repot with fresh soil. But, I just remembered that some of my plants got a mix of soil and not pure FF Happy Frog. So.... I'm going to repot the Super Silver Haze. I'll bump up the container size a bit. See if that helps. I'll do FF Happy Frog with work castings.

If I'm feeling up to it, I'll post photos.

Update: In my medicated state, I got my SSH and MM mixed up. It was a few of the Medicine Man, which were showing serious deficiencies/unhappiness with the leaves.

The Super Silver Haze actually look "fine". They still look like u.derdeveloped seedlings. But I don't see major leaf damage like with the Medicine Man

I shook the soil loose from the MM and transplanted them into fresh soil. I'll have photos of the roots of MM in my Medicine Man thread later today.

Sorry for the confusion.

Update: I transplanted the Super Silver haze. The roots were underdeveloped, to say the least. They were better than the Black Widow, but not by any significant amount. There were clearly small bits of fresh fuzzy white roots on some of the Super Silver haze. It looks like at least some of the plants were starting to get fresh root growth which would have eventually meant fresh green growth. About a third to maybe half of the plants had some weird fungus colony forming. I could see the beginning of new leaf growth on a few of the plants. Not much though, maybe an 1/8"-1/4" of leaf growth.

Anyways, I shook off as much of the old soil as I could. I sprinkled Mycorrhizae on the roots then put them into a slightly larger container with fresh soil. The soil is 3 parts Fox Farms Happy Frog mixed with 1 part of worm castings. I watered the plants in with tap water with 1/4tsp per gallon of Kelp It Real, 1tbs gnatrol, 1tsp of Roots Organic Microbe Tea, and about a tsp per gallon of a different Mycorrhizae brand than what was sprinkled on the roots. The watering solution was ph'd to 6.8.

Out of my perspective this strange soilmix looks like a blend of bark not properly broken down, probably the C eats the N (and also other nutes) before it reaches the plants and this also could be way too wet and acidic because thats how bark happens to supress weeds, they used it over here to keep the earth covered and nothing really grows where you have a layer of that stuff. I could be wrong but the bulpy mycos i see remember me to the ones you find on that type of bark and also the structure and color looks like it. I'd switch the brand next time.

@Proud Kraut that was the last bit of an old bag of Happy Frog. Theblast bit might have had more of the heavy/bigger chunks of bark.

My sis helped me fill the small nursury pots with soil, due to how bad my back was that night. I think she packed the soil way too loose. When I was transplanting, I noticed that the soil would just crumble away and that several had large gaps of air in the container with no soil. Maybe the extra airflow helped the fungus develop? None of my medicine man had it and the soil was packed fuller/denser.
Perhaps the loose soil was part of the reason why some were deyingnout fast while others were staying waterlogged.

Sounds like a chain of failures over there i hope youll be abled to save some of your precious medicine, backpains aint nothing to joke about!

I'm confident that this run will simply be a learning experience and a killer story for what not to do on ones first pheno hunt.😅

This is just a rough start. 😆The worst has to be behind me. I could see some fresh roots growing, so that is a positive sign. Besides, with everyones back up here. How can I fail!?🫠

Perhaps, If I posted photos more regularly, all of you would have jumped my ass and the planta would be further along. 🤣

you still find a keeper and the universe drags yer ass into a cloning experience
That's the plan. I want to find some good medicine. I'll be cloning them all and keeping the nost effective ladies and most enticing males.

So far since transplant, the Super Silver Haze looks fine. No obvious transplant shock for them.

One of my blackwidow though, is looking worse for the wear. One out of 18 is not bad though. But the 16 SSH are all looking fine so far since transplant.

The Super Silver Haze are thriving! The entire straw survived the onslaught of user errors inflicted by yours truly. There is even one standout of interest, SSH#10. He/she is by far the shortest of stature with the largest and thinnest fingered fan leaves. Very compact, it will be interesting taking a clone. No preflowers yet.

First a photo of the tent.

A frontal and overhead shot of SSH#10.

Once they get a bit bigger, I'll take clones for flowering.
