There is another breeder who has just released a few NL5 crosses recently, although he's none of the above you've mentioned.

Can't rememeber his name at the moment, begins with an S I think, maybe one of the other members will be able to think of it.

Peace GG

I have never grown the two you speak of. Your impression of sensi may change a little after reading this
http://www.mrnice.nl/forum/showthread.php?t=3778
Dirthawker also has a thread where he is growing sensi.
I'm not done with my grow but at the early stages Ortega is clearly ahead of sensi in quality.
Jesse has a thread called northern lights. And ssb clearly does not have the original nl strain. The closest I think you can get will be the Ortega. The Ortega is new and really untested by the market but we all know about shanti's and nevils work.

Which specific NL line are you looking for? If I recall correctly, according to Shanti, Ortega is NL#1, and is also an inbred line and not a hybrid. So, if you're looking for a pure NL line, then Ortega could fit the bill.

I've run Dr. Atomic's version before and like it quite a bit. However, there was noticeable variation in height, structure and effect among the girls. From a single pack that produced 6 ladies, no two were alike nor looked the same as the pics on his website. Again, I liked his NL, but would not consider it to be overly uniform by any means from the bean and clone runs I had with it.

thanks you all for the answer ;)
i had try to search but only find grow report, maybe i have to go in adavanced search next time...:D
ortega look nice and i will keep an eye on it.

to bean cracker, thanks for the answer, i don't care about many pheno in this strain, maybe even better to found one you like... ;)
do you still have some picture of the atomic nl you grown ?

I've never had an MNS Northern Light cross but the Atomic Northern Lights is fantastic in my experience.

when you say the clones were different were they from different mothers or the same with the clones all showing different genotypes instead of phenotypes?

thanks man !! maybe you have pictures of your atomic nl ?

thought you didn't wont a nl cross? take a look in the nl thread there's a link to Dr atomic explaining his breeding of his nl. use you head shark shock= great white shark black widow= white widow ect ect ect. Ortega is NL#1 from Neville and its older than Dr atomics it's been posted that Meany time it embarrassing now and you still say mns dont sell nl#1. just for you Ortega = northern lights#1 from Neville back in 1987.

Sorry for the confusion. There's two parts to the clone comment. First, the clones were typically identical to the seed mother, so there wasn't a change based solely on using a clone. Second, I was able to procure a few clones from a friend who made selections from beans that he independently purchased. Regardless of seed or clone, I haven't come across an Atomic NL that looked like the Doc's on his website.

Despite the variation in structure and buzz, one thing was common: potency. I had some heavy indica phenos with a knockout stone, but also had some that were more sativa in structure that was a good mix of a high and stone. Where the Doc's NL excels is in the potency of the strain. Some were exceptional and others were very good.

After reading the history of Atomic NL, it becomes clear that the variation is due to the Doc crossing different NL lines and using multiple sources in making his selections. In my experience, Atomic NL is unique from the SSB version and I presume from that of Ortega as well. I would consider Atomic NL to be a combination of many NL varieties rather than simply calling it NL5 as many often do.
