Hi All

well done a few tours with Howard and one was 2007 OUTLAWS festival in a place called Darby I think. There I met a lot of Walsh lads, and it never ceases to amaze me how many good growers come from that area...maybe due to the shite weather and high unemployment spurred them on to make their own job where they do not need to kill themselves over, like mining, to have a good life?

Nevertheless the NL plant is the base to so many strains it aint funny. If some one said they never found a keeper in seed coming from the original NL...then be weary of them intensely.

Anyhow we got this one ready just out of coincidence and it is a great plant.Nev reselected the NL from a very old batch of seed in 2004...I added it to the Haze father then selected and crossed it to an impressive Skunk male. I believe it to be something very special for medical patients who asked me for it by the way, and well hoping it does the same for those of you who decide to do it.

I will wait till people grow it before posting a photo from MNS as I prefer to allow growers to show other growers what real plants to expect from the seed sold. That way MNS is not putting fantasies out there before anyone actually has grown it. Can not be fairer and more open than that. Only wish a few other companies would follow suit but why would you expose yourself or invite problems if you have any doubts...is probably their main concerns since most do nothing to do with breeding any more just chemically treat female selected F1 seed, as that is what sells for them.

Any how wish you all the success where ever you all are what ever you all are doing....

Quick question as my simple mind is bit confused, is there going to be a straight up NL5 x Haze released, or is the nl5/haze x skunk the only one coming out? Gotta grab both if theres 2 different ones.

Big Buddy,

I believe the only NL coming out is the NL5/Haze C x Skunk. From what I've read Shanti doesn't have the NL5 anymore(it passed). The seeds he dug up were the NL5 x Haze C that he had put away.

He crossed the two with a superior Skunk which in turn made the haze makeup only 25% of the mix-allowing it to finish outdoors in a more normal timeframe.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for stopping in, below is some more old information about Northern Lights that should be shared with the community. For some years now Ive been troubled by a lack of concrete information on this variety, its almost as if its been swept under the rug. Having had the chance to smoke Northern Lights on three occassions now, all of which were different from one another I might add, I can safely say this variety has had my attention for many years.

Shiva Shanti ® At the start of the Nineties, two large collections of breeding plants merged and the Seed Bank became the Sensi Seed Bank one of the most important cannabis gene-banks in existence. To celebrate, Sensi Seeds released several new strains designed to be accessible to every weed-lover - easy to grow, very affordable and always expressing Sensi's high standards of quality and potency.

Shiva Shanti was the first of these special ganja strains a beautiful plant named after the equally beautiful twin daughters of Ben Dronkers.

This hybrid is bred from an old-school Afghani known as Garlic Bud, whose classic qualities have been reinforced by crossing with another 'heritage' Kush variety; she receives a further boost to her vigour and power through a recessive Skunk influence.

Flowering: 50-55 days

Height: 100-130 cm

Yield: up to 125 gr

Qty: 10 Marijuana Seeds

Seed Company: Sensi Seeds

Recommended for: Indoor marijuana growing

Nothern Lights X Haze® cannabis seeds from Sensi Seeds. This hybrid is the pinnacle of achievement in cannabis breeding today. The result: an extremely potent marijuana plant with a great cannabis sativa high. At the Harvest festivals in the early nineties this strain was already miles ahead of its competitors. Even today it has not yet been surpassed. The high yields compensate for the slightly longer flowering period. Hybrid vigour provides for lush growth, heavy bud formation and abundant resin. A true champion!

Flowering: 65-75 days

Height: 150-180 cm

Yield: up to 150 gr

Great informative post. Out of the Indica strains available, NL is hands down my favorite. Presently have 3 variations. When I get comfortable w/ the forum and get a feeling for the place, I will post some pics of the NL #2X5 which IMHO is the best NL strain. I guess you could say it taste like Juniper Berries, I always thought it was a Gin almost terpine taste.

I really enjoyed reading this post b/c of my love for the NL strain. I grow very few Indica strains, but NL is definately a big favorite of mine.

Where is the best place/seed bank to get NL in seed form from? And does anyone think the original NL from the PNW is still around? The story is that it was being grown on an island near Seattle in Washington state. I must say that I live in Washington and just last year a couple buddies of mine were paying 250 a half ounce for some of the best weed I've ever seen, they said it was coming from a grower out of Vashon Island which is near Seattle. Usually we pay 250 for an ounce but trust me this shit was worth every penny for a half ounce!

i really love this thread it is terrific...Northern Lights has been my favorite variety for years and i've smoked the NL5 cutting (atleast thats what they said it was) and it was down right the most knock down, sleepy, lazy, mind confusing indica I have ever experienced and its what got me growing my own stash originally...i was absolutely amazed at the pure power and quality of this smoke called Northern Lights and it opened my eyes to the world of Cannabis breeding and cloning which offers some superior hybrids...NL5 started the craze and changed the course of my life big time, pot may not be addictive but i swear NL5 is because i'm now HOOKED on cannabis...lol
