Hi Alecky. Hope all is well, for sure long time no see. Rimmeo (who is NOT my favorite person) had nothing to do with the 89 NL5. Supposedly, the 90 Superskunk I ran from him came direct from Neville, and I traded Rimmeo some of my 89 NL5 F3s for them when TSD was still up and runnning, when I was searching for the old Superskunk from Sensi I use to love, but his hands never came anywhere near my 89 NL5 beyond my trading with him.
Trust me, he got the better end of that deal by a mile. I did notice that not long after he had all new NL5 workings available for sale. Pretty sure he made them all with the 10 seeds I passed him, but can't prove it of course.

Hello Mel, love your work. Definitely going for some Buckeyes next chance I get, ha. Any plans of releasing those 89'NL#5 in "pure" form? I'd love to see how they compare to MNS' legendary Ortega which is NL5xNL2 as well. Surely working the two lines into an NL f1 would be beneficial. Homebrew420 also has an old linebred NL selection from CO I believe. Hmm, I love NL. Would be sweet to go through a pile of them and see what kind of dankness is lurking in those old school genes. If you can say, what's the provenance of your NL. Seedbank? Sensi? Have you tried MNS' Ortega and if so how's it stack up compared to your old sample? Thanks for posting here. It's kind of a ghost town lately.

What was it the Sensi was selling 10 years ago as NL #5? I went to Federal Prison and lost it. Along with $5000 is seeds.
Both the Mr. Nice Ortega or the New Sensi version of NL is at least 75% less potent than the original Sensi NL #5.. It was also fast at 45- 50 days. Never past 50.
I did get a best 24 Oz from the Mr. Nice Ortega x 1 plant in a 20 gallon container and Promix BX. But the strength was lacking. We also crossed the SSH x Ortega and it took away from the SSH Strength, added a more Grape flavor and the buds were not as dense all the way down the stem as per the straight SSH.
My MINIMUM requirement for 1 plant x 1 1000 watt hortilux is 14oz and it really has to be very very very potent and easy to grow or its not worthgiving up yield.
The Ortega also shows Hybrid Vigor and is a very fast growing plant, as is the SSH. SSH from the 1's Ive done out beat the Ortega in every way. The Sensi NL #5 grew Slow to Medium and didn't stretch much at flowering time.
IMHO it was the best NL Ive tried as far as strength and quick flowering time is concerned. It was a medium small plant that was Very Resinous and as Potent as any SSH, AK47, GHT #1, Kosher Kush Ive seen personally. Which is probably 100 of each.
The Rare Dankness GTH #1 and Reserva Kosher Kush are JUNK IMHO as far as Production, but are very potent and tasty, just to bad they don't produce like SSH. I guess JUNK was to strong.
Both have Very long Internode spacing even with the strongest light. Production going to the KK. Both are very potent and different highs. I didn't get as much production as was advertised on the seed packs.
Every pack from Mr. Nice Ive Tried has EXCEEDED the Stated Production Estimates.
GHT #1 and KK were lucky to do 9 oz per light. They are rated up to 550. Probably have to go through a lot of plants to get that from a tree style plant inside. Every Ortega or SSH plant Ive grown out can get 20 oz in good conditions. and some get 24 when conditions are perfect.
By comparison the SSH, Ortega and my SSH x Ortega Cross, is getting up to 24oz in the same set up. And I did also use both male and female Ortega X SSH. Ortega Male x SSH Female seemed best/most potent. Growth and production were similar.
AK47 was good for 12. My self done AK47 x Sensi NL #5 was good for 12 and was also Very Very Potent and reeked like cat pee and pine sol. I loved it but not enough Yield, and seeds got confiscated.
