Anyone know what the name of this tree is?

I always called it the stringbean tree because it looks like it has stringbeans on it. I am sure that is wrong. It is the tree in the upper right hand side of the picture. You might think a near 70 year old man would sit in a rocking chair and learn to behave himself instead of swinging his 240 lb. ass on a swing made for little children. If fact, his ass is so big it does not fit on the seat. Anyway, the tree....you can see the stringbean thingys.

Tried to get a better picture of the tree. It is the tree directly above her head. I will digress for a minute and say this. One thing I loved about this girl was that she was always, and I mean always, totally naked underneath all her clothes! I wish more girls were like that. She sure loved her hash too! Yes, the tree is directly above her.

After a little angling around, I finally got a reasonable picture of the tree and you can see the stringbeans on it. Anyone know what type of tree this is?

I was able to grab a couple of the stringbeans. They feel like they are made of wood and appear to be seed pods that split open and drop seeds out? Well, so much for my free, fresh, stringbeans!

Thanks, musashi! :)

Also, known as the cigar tree ha ha

" Catalpa speciosa, commonly known as the northern catalpa, hardy catalpa, western catalpa, cigar tree, catawba-tree, or bois chavanon, is a species of Catalpa native to the midwestern United States. The Latin specific epithet speciosa means “showy”.

Deach, she was great! :) Our first date was a Dead & Co. concert. She had her own bag of really good hash and she knew all the words to every Grateful Dead tune. I fell in love right on the spot!🥰🤩

As long as this is a picture thread - a lot of fun in a little package. Funny how the sign behind her almost matches her shirt. Believe me, that sign was the last effing thing on my mind when i was taking that picture! Here she is, stoned as always - a wake and bake girl 😉😍 And a Grandmother. Granny's weren't like this when I was growing up!

Yup, I hear ya. Milfs and gilfs look better and better as time flies. Dead shows are the best place to meet good people. My people, as my ex-wife used to refer to them

This is one of the most popular trees for local photograghers but this is the only photo I've seen with still water and reflection. I'm lucky it's directly across the road from my house in a woodland & wildlife sanctuary. It was just a matter of luck capturing this but i take my kids there everyday to learn about the bush and the native Australian flora and fauna.
Taken with a shitty phone sadly.

"Australia’s largest single Box-gum Grassy-woodland area managed for conservation.
It is the only woodland of this type free from the impacts of foxes, rabbits, goats, deer and hares… helping our native wildlife to flourish."

That's so awesome! So good to see kids outdoors! Nice picture and nice tree. The tree looks like it has a million more photo opportunities! If you want the water to be still, leave the camera at home. It really works. I have done it many times ;)

Of course, I had to look up Box-Gum Woodsy-Grassland. This is what I came up with: "Box Gum Grassy Woodland occurs on fertile soils and is characterised by a canopy of widely spaced eucalyptus trees such as White Box, Yellow Box, Apple Box and Blakely's Red Gum, with a ground layer dominated by tussock grasses and a high diversity of herbs. Sparse shrubs may also be present." There is more than one eucalyptus tree? Today, I learned :)

I fell blessed to have this at my back door. This lake is actually an old farm dam that was dry as a bone 4yrs ago. There were sheep stations through out in the late 1800's early 1900's and there's a few ruins about. The sanctuary it's self is huge and surrounded by an electrified Cat, fox , rabbit and dog proof fence to keep them out and the wildlife in there has a few endangered species undergoing breeding programs. We help turtles migrate from one dam to another when they get to the fence and cant get through. There's an abundance of wildlife my kids get to see on a daily basis.
Even more special is it's actually a sacred men's place for indigenous men and the signs of inhabitants before the white man came is even more than evident by the scars on the gum trees. Home of the Ngunnawal & Ngambri people.
My son is an indigenous boy so it's my duty to connect him with his land & culture.

Yep, there so many varieties that we pick leaves for the kids to smell the difference. Some smell great while others don't smell much, some even smell slightly sweet. When we find a good one we get a handful of leaves and crush them before taking a deep breath of fresh eucalyptus.

I'll post another photo of a tree with scars from the indigenous tribes used to make canoes, shields , baskets etc from them.

Hello Sundog! :)

Here in good old New York we tend to hear the word eucalyptus in the singular. "Our product is made from the Eucalyptus Tree." It never occurred to me there may be more than one type of eucalyptus tree or that they may smell different. Looking forward to your pictures.

Around here the Goldfish Plant is just starting to flower. It is a late summer bloomer.

I'll have to share some photos of gumnuts and their flowers as they can be so different they look like they come from different plants altogether. Where they grow in South Oz the gumnuts are huge whereas in my neck of the woods they are tiny.

I wouldn't usually post a photo of my daughter online but here she is being told "we're not hungry, go away kiddo"received_3184329501785723.jpeg

Racing Bar Stooll

Pictures taken at the Adirondack Nationals Car Show held the weekend after Labor Day in Lake George, NY. It's a huge 3 day event and weather permitting, 50,000 people will come on a nice Saturday. I have been to the last 17 shows and hope to make the next 17! :p

Wheelie bars are a nice touch!

[EDIT} I have posted up a few pictures of cars from the Adirondack Nationals Car Show but it is more than a bunch of cars in a parking lot. A 3 day event and 2 of the nights the main drag in town is closed off to only cars in the car show. The streetlights are set to stay green so the cars can continually cruise. Of course, no racing allowed because of all the people in the streets. Some burnouts, and for the show it is legal to drive with open headers(no mufflers or catalytic converters) on the street. It gets pretty loud. It's a lot of fun and partying!
