Yeah I noticed all those staples on the xray, showed the extent of the cut, lots of work was done. You right handed?@Deach69 said: "]@longball[/USER] , nice photo, she's a cutie pie. How is your elbow coming along, how long till the cast comes off?"
Thank for the kind words Deach69!Surprisingly, I did not get a cast. There were 25 sutures inside the wound and 25 metal staples outside holding the wound together. This was bandaged and had to be changed daily for 2 weeks. I think there was no cast because a drain tube was inserted into my elbow). The drain tube went to a 10 inch square battery operated box which also had a drain reservoir. I had to wear this box for 2 weeks. Showered with the box, slept with the box, shit with the box. The batteries created a negative vacuum which would pull any fluid into the drain reservoir. A single drop of fluid would mean my 'new' elbow was getting infected and I would need a 3rd emergency surgery. Luckily, not a single drop and after 2 weeks the tube was removed. In the lower center of this picture, between the staples, you can see a hole in my incision, that is where the drain tube was. Any other holes would be from bones going thru the skin when I fell. The whole experience has been fairly awful!

Awesome photo! I have have a pair that breed at my place every year in my front paddock. We call them a Grey Heron or Matuku Moana. I’ll try and get a photo of them in the next couple of days.View attachment 64011
A pretty pic I took in front of my place a couple of days ago. Those are Blue Herons fattening up to travel back south soon

We have a White Heron as well Kotuku. We have at least one type of heron here . The night heron I know for sure.
Have you ever been to anguilla or st barths? Closest islands to me .Nice @High-mish looking forward to seeing them
The blue heron does its nesting up here, and I think some go even further into northern Canada. I see them whenever I've travelled to the Carribean in the winter. Otherwise, I've seen one large white one, perhaps a Kotuku, which lost its way, they shouldn't be here. Cattle egrets get lost up here once in a blue moon
While we're on the bird subject, vultures are now common here when there were none 10 years ago. The wild turkeys have just arrived, within the last 5 years. Interesting times.
One side of my family came to where I live from St Kitts and Nevis. A long time ago.Have you ever been to anguilla or st barths? Closest islands to me .![]()
