Nevilles Haze - Legacy NZ Grow journal

Hi to the MNS forum crew 🫡🙋‍♂️.

I hope we are all doing well.

Im gutted to say that Im back in fighting migraine, codiene lala land. I think it's the seasonal atmospheric pressure - because it is not just me lately, there seems to be heaps of people around me suffering the same. So that being said, I am very quietly maintaining my grows as my health allows.

This is 2 of my keeper pheno (B) in living soil currently in veg, her growth is insanely good, I think i might try without a scrog net this go

My last living soil batch of NH pheno G was outstanding amongst all my selection of different strains.

The curing process was where the magic really happened in my mind. Each week/month that passed these buds expressed different flavours as they cured, starting off lemony kombucha, going into a very tropical water melon flavour, and this week sweet berries. Its been an amazing journey on my pallette getting to enjoy what Neville's haze has to offer, and she has become my go to jar for almost any occassion.

After years of modern day hybrids NH truly is a level above in may ways:
A pleasure to grow, huge yields, great to train.
Outstanding flavours that change and improve with long cures, a quality largely lost in modern day poly hybrids (cured NH really is special).
Unique, trippy, different high that is unmatched by non hazes. NH has shot right up there in my top go-to strains and will be in all my new rotations somewhere.

Will up date more photos of this grow as i can.

Happy growing everyone ✌️

I've heard about people with migraine and cluster headaches can benefit from micro dosing of shrooms. Maybe that can help if you're open to nature's gifts.

Your description of Nevilles Haze confirms to me how special it really is.
Thank you for that.

Looking forward to planting these beans next year, can't hardly wait.

I'll second this.
I have a good friend who uses mushrooms 1-2x/year and this keeps him from having heavy attacks and from taking strong medications.

Stay well.

Yes same here with Migraines, i was getting them daily, and they were brutal, the strongest of opiods barely dulled them, but put me to sleep. That poison amiltriptyline stopped them, which I'm thankful for despite the teeth thing, they were a living hell otherwise.

Sorry to read of your heart attack man, thats a scarey sounding time for you, crazy though that it stopped your migraines

Sorry to hear about your health issues.
Migraines is no joke. I had acquaintances who were completely debilitated every now and then.

I've witnessed a couple friends having remarkable improvement in their condition by changing their diet to 100% ruminant grass-fed meat (beef and lamb),
which at first sounded crazy to me cuz we're all taught since kids to eat our veggies, eat the rainbow etc I was very surprised to learn
that many people with health issues respond well to a 100% carnivore diet. After some reading, it turns out that many veggies arent
as good to us humans as we were taught. Some of them contain defense chemicals, many of them toxins for us. Carbs and grains also seem to be a
great culprit in many migraine cases.

Each person is different though. In one end of the spectrum there's some people who can thrive on a plant-based diet alone,
while on the other end there's people who have serious problems (normally never attributed to vegetables and grains/carbohydrates)
and improve on their issues after going 100% carnivore. My instict tells me that people who come from a lineage of ancestors from higher latitudes
(they had to resort to meat most of the year since it was the only food available) they tend to fare better on a 100% meat diet, while others whose ancestors
were from tropical regions (vegetables, fruits etc abundant all year round) tend to tolerate plant-based diets better. But this is just my hunch.

Migraines a complex condition with many different causes, so it's very unlikely that there will be a one cure all solution.
Nevertheless, I thought I'd mention that, maybe it could help. If you're interested you can search for books or videos by doctors talking about
the carnivore being used from weight loss and athletic performance improvement to treatment of several health conditions.

Check out the Weston Price Foundation. He traveled the word studying people whp still ate tradional foods from their areas and cultures, then returned decades later when they had changed to a western typw diet. It's amazing how the villages and towns people had drastically different health and diseases once they stopped eating a strict diet that their ancestors survived on. Some cultures were steictly vegetarian, others survived almost entirely off of fermented bread and cheese, while somw were carnivore diets with zero fresh fruits or veggies. One thing they all had in common was fermented foods. All the cultures ate foos that was either naturally fermented, or they fermented it themselves.

Each person is different though.

"you are what you eat"...
you are what you smoke too...
i usually found drinking more water and aiming for a fairly clear urine color combined with good food, rest, makes migraines disappear. everyone is different though. have heard there may be some relationship of migraines and nitrates used to preserve foods. and pushing on certain pressure points on skull muscles for extended periods of time like 30 minutes can make migraines disappear.
hope you find something helpful @legacy.cannabis.nz , they're not a pleasant experience.

"Fifty per cent human
While often-quoted figures suggest that the microbes that live in and on the human body outnumber human cells by 10:1, a more recent estimate suggests that we are essentially one part human to one part microbe in terms of cell number (Sender et al., 2016). These commensal microorganisms have a vital role in human health. They break down otherwise indigestible dietary fibres and other components of food, produce vitamins, promote the development and maturation of the immune system, and prevent pathogenic bacterial species from colonizing the gut. Metagenomic sequencing has identified more than 1000 species of bacteria capable of surviving in the gut, with each of us thought to harbour 160 or so different species. The particular array of microorganisms within the gut is known as the gut microbiota, although ‘microbiome’—technically the collective genome of the microbiota—now tends to be used synonymously. The composition of the gut microbiota varies greatly between individuals, and the ability of bacteria to exchange genetic material with one another adds further complexity to the mix."
‘All disease begins in the gut’: was Hippocrates right?

"Wisdom From the Past
Hippocrates said,
Everyone has a doctor in him or her; we just have to help it in its work. The natural healing force within each of us is the greatest force in getting well. Our food should be our medicine. Our medicine should be our food.

As we continue to embark on the transformation of health care, it will be increasingly important to educate and empower our patients about their body’s amazing ability to heal itself. While this is not always an easy task, new research continues to provide us, as lifestyle medicine practitioners, with new ways to deliver our message. Perhaps no research is quite as exciting for lifestyle medicine as that of the human gut microbiome and its incredible and undeniable impact on human health.

Not surprisingly, it was Hippocrates who also coined the phrase, “All diseases begin in the gut.” While 2000 years of time and research has demonstrated that not all diseases originate in the gut, an increasing number of conditions are linked to the complex ecosystem of microbes that reside in the gut. The most promising part? We have the unique ability to manipulate this ecosystem, and health outcomes, through practical methods, many of which just so happen to be the pillars of lifestyle medicine."

Thank you to those who have both PM'd me or left suggestions on this thread for migraines.

There is so many potential triggers to migraines that it seems next to impossible to pin point what they might be in any person.

Im making a concious effort with my diet to just eat "healthy" in general ie no junk food, and lots of water at least 8 glasses a day.
Oddly enough, i think if I was able to simply keep up the 8 glasses a day, and eating "healthy" 3x a day - i would have far less migraines than i do. So many days i put getting stuff done in front of eating.
That all being said i am very interested the canivorous diet.. i might give it a nudge.

Also the suggested mushrooms. I have had many a mushy trip in my younger years, but admittedly many decades have passed since, i will make the effort to go picking next season. Is it psilocybin mushrooms? Or a different type? Any particular variety? I have native ones close by, and know places to find cubensis and liberties

In the meantime these migraines are still beating me down damn it

Interesting approach! We're also often taught cholesterol is bad but it's actually necessary and we need it pretty bad, especially for brain health. That may be a key. I can also say Ashwaganda and Mushroom caps (mix of different edible grounded mushrooms) do help improve health along with a good diet.
And never underestimate how important being hydrated and having good exchange of air is crucial to health.

Psylos in general. Check YT on micro dosing. You'll find a lot of good content, even under clinical to help death patient deal with fear of dying.

But many mushrooms without psylocibin can drastically improve health if consumed regularly. I just started taking a quality mushroom mix in caps lately and noticed a slight improvement of Chi, or less fatigue if you like that description better.

Absolutely. Cholesterol is part of every cell membrane in our body and essential for a bunch of metabolic processes including hormonal synthesis.
People who take statins to lower their cholesterol (supposedly to lower risk of cardiovascular problems) actually turn out sicker than before with a bunch
of problems due to lower cholesterol, not to mention the side effects of the medication itself. More often than not, they end up taking extra medications to
"patch" those side effects, which create another side effects, on a never ending vicious cycle of increased degenerated health not to mention drained finances.

A very successful business model I'd say...

Here are several studies re: psilocybin and migraine.

Microdosing 0.3/gram/daily might be a good place to start.

* disclaimer. I am not a medical doctor, though I have personal experience with this mushroom.

P.S. I do take Ashwagandha daily for health reasons.

Its been a minute... personally I've been in the wars over here lately. The migraine medication I was prescribed has caused my jaw bone to receed, and therefore has meant I have had to get all 30 teeth immediately extracted, and replaced with falsies 😫.
I am on my 3rd day getting used to new teeth, it has been fucking hectic to say the least. I am very dark on my doctor for her lack of warning of this common side effect.

Aaaaany way... hazes are still alive and being tested here:

A new keeper has appeared (pheno O)

I didnt get any shots of discarded phenos during the latest test. They got to week 8.. but had stopped developing flower at week 5 and were hard going to keep upright lol.

And in other phenos appearing:

Pheno K here, foxtailing like mad, but looking nice frosty and smelling nice too. The top has alot of weight to her, but is being held up on her own nice structure quite well.

I kind of want to keep all these hazes im finding LOL 😆 🤦‍♂️
Really nice grow, they look stunning.
Just out of curiosity was you growing any other haze strains from mr nice or have others in the stash ? Maybe something like 98ssh x a/c. ?
But great work.
