Nice resin on those NH males. Especially 14, 26 and 36.
I've found that waiting for amber trichs on sativas and hazes results in weed that is sleepier and more narcotic than if I had harvested earlier. I harvest when the buds stop swelling and most of the pistils are brown. The exception is plants with a strong fenotrigo bud structure; as long as there are white pistils on the tips of the stacked calyxes, the yield will continue to improve as the dreds grow by adding calyxes, while most of the trichs remain clear or cloudy, but not amber.

You are absolutely right regarding the harvest window, clear/cloudy is where the
is for sativa dominant strains.Something I also take into account is how strong they smell.

A good method for knowing when to harvest is when the ratio of new milky pistils to old pistils that are converting amber is 50/50.
In short, when there are more pistils converting amber than new milky pistils appearing, that's when you should harvest.
But of course, it also depends on the variety and individual preferences (some weeds may be better with more amber trichomes).

'23, '24, ‘25 COE Winner
I will test males #14, #26 and #36 further.
They were cut and carefuly rinsed in a large bucket of fresh water to wash of a s much of pollen and dead flowers as possible.
After drying I will cut of the tops with the most resin and assess further how they retained their smell.
After that they will be vaped to experience the high they carry. I plan to take a 7 day break from smoking before testing.
Neville's Haze #36 male show nice trichomes with enough bulbous heads.
He was the only one that turned a bit purple.
Sweet and sour haze smell, medium strenght.
Neville's Haze #26 male smells very hazy, similar like #36 but a bit stronger.
Also nice trichomes on him.
The king so far is Nevilles Haze#14 male.
He is a real stud regarding trichomes, they smell very strong like the others with something else that is hard to describe yet.

Stunning! I read all your posts and have to hand it to you; I haven't seen such a well executed and documented NH grow since L33t's legendary thread.
Did you notice anything about the leaf morphology of these three males when they were seedlings? Narrower or wider than average? Any very early resin signs on the first leaves?

Thank you Marcus_in_the_Darkus, these legendary strains are worth the effort.
I did not keep track of the plants when they were in the seedling stage.
Only after repotting to their final pots and taking cuts I numbered them.
I did see small trichomes on a lot of these plants from the seedling stage, I already thought that these could turn out great regarding trichomes.
I plan on flowering the winner male(s) out next spring outside to harvest their pollen, I will make pictures and post them.

Indeed Trickcomanche, as they are almost ready I feel that the journey is not even halfway.
I will run the better ones a second time for sure!
They are almost 18 weeks in flower now, plants are doing ok and harvest will begin soon.
Trichome production is going into high gear in the last weeks just as with the males, these sativas are incredible!
I'll post an update this weekend.

The scent when opening up the tent is strong, I will harvest next week.
After more than 18 weeks I'm realy looking forward to inspecting and smelling each individual lady.
It is difficult to describe now but you have a strong resin smell with spicy and more savory undertones, I can also detect a sweet/sour haze type smell.
I start to see a little amber on some, the time is now!
The light is lowered at 50% strenght and I gave them only small amounts of water the past week.

After 129 days in flower it was time to harvest the Neville's Haze lady's and see what I got.
Sight and smell are the first criteria when harvesting and I was a bit overwhelmed.
Needless to say that there were some very special and interesting scents in these, next to very dicreet smelling and also some new smells for me.
Halfway harvest I could not make good notes of the smells anymore ,first time I had a sensory overload.
I have 2-3 phenos that show extraordinary trichome production as well.
Next to that there are 3 "pearl" phenos. These were very difficult to harvest, they better smoke nice.
This grow went ok and the quality is good enough to make the first assessment.
Next time I would lower the feeding a bit quicker.
Most pheno's were done, only 2 could went a week or 2 longer
I made pictures and will post the nicer phenos later, for now a little teaser of NH#13.

All the phenos are very appealing, and only a good smoke test will reveal their qualities, but this one looks particularly promising at first look.

It pleases me seeing that almost every pheno is long flowering.
Those pearls are unique and I have some more detailed pictures of them.
One stood out by smell and trichome coverage, more of that later.
By al means post info if you have some experience in what to look out for in Neville's Haze.
Already got some golden info from a member that will help me a lot in the further selection process.

The furthest amount of time I have been able to go is 11 weeks with a Neville's Haze.
At that point spider mites had started to build infrastructure projects.
I do however remember Shanti mentioning something about not judging on the first run and to run everything multiple times.
As often the keeper is hiding and improves over time..
You have me intrigued now @Swifty. The ears are certainly pricked up.
