Mr. Brown hazes the Skunk

someone else around here only manicures it when they want to smoke it....
Yes this is the way I have followed since day one. I have read this drying method from Nevils post .
The idea behind is that the leaves protect the flowers and trichromes.
If I have enough space I hug it like all plant upside yfor 4 days minimum up to 10 depends humidity levels
Rule of thumb Till branches snap!

Then I will manicure some bigger fan leafs and put flowers to glass jars and start curing process.
Open them every day for few minutes to breath close them air tight and put in dark place.
Some strains like kushes I froze them with out curing this way they maintain better their funky terpenens but I never froze haze .
I hope this helps 🙏

Yup. I leave them on stalks too for a long time. I find they cure better that way too. The more leaf and essentially longer the flowers are left on the plant/stems the metabolic processes that happen after harvest can continue. This happens in an aerobic environment but needs to be dry humidity wise. This helps storage longevity and quality of smoke. A comparable example is leaving the stem on apples or pumpkins or how tobacco farmers dry and cure.
Here’s a rabbit hole if you are interested?
(Metabolic processes in harvested plants)

I think I'll let her go at least another week before I harvest her
I remember a post from Shanti where he said to wait one more week when you think she is ready to harvest (y)
Not a bad idea. Being a true old-school sativa dom cross.

Btw, I think you're beyond the cola can test with that top cola. 😆 More like the a 34 oz Octoberfest Stein test.

I'm so glad you have had a smoother grow this run. This grow looks flawless.

When I find a keeper mum and re-run her, I'll save two jars for long term cure. One trimmed with OCD zeal. The other untrimmed, Shanti style.

I think if a few of us did this. It could make for a fun comparison thread.

Hi @Fish!

I am sure that you know as well as anybody that your comments are solidly backed by the Laws of Physics and Chemistry, especially the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics. As is usually the case, some compromises need to be made regarding temperature, oxygen, and moisture. For example: temperature, a slightly higher temperature will result in more efficient metabolic processes post-harvest. A slightly cooler temperature will keep the post-harvest product fresher. You can only choose one. They both have advantages and disadvantages.

In either case, you(I) will always be better off hanging the whole plant with the leaves on. Thanks for posting that up.

She is a beautie Mr. Brown.
Nice density of trichs and big heads, looks like she will deliver! 💥

Happy new year to you, already thought on what you will be growing next?😄

Greetings.

Thank you @Swifty 🙏

It will be a tough decision what to grow next  Right now my favorite is G13 Haze but Shark Shock and SSH are close second and third

Great work in all aspects Captain brown .
G13hz is one of the strongest pots around is 9 to 11 weeks
Sharck shock is one in my do list too and is faster can be harvested I will call it "the Dutch way " early at 45 -50 days of flowering for more funky terpenes or you can leave it Mr Brown Style :love:longer .
SSH is top in list also but takes longer

Today was harvest day (y)

Now you see her ;)

Now you don't ;)

Skunk Haze #1 was so big and humidity is so high that I couldn't hang the whole plant heads down in the grow tent. I only cut off the fan leaves and the dried crispy leaves to dry her as slow as possible.
