how do you go about curing big amounts kanga
have you got a shed dedicated or do you do it in small batches ??

Thanx Picklez. much appreciated:)

Hey Squigg's I just fan dry it for about 4-5 days at about 21c in a special room that I do and then when I think it is not to dry I put it in a pickle barrel and just keep a eye on it for about 2 weeks, sometmes I have to lay the barrel down and put a fan at the opening. Then when i am 100% sure it is dry but not to dry I close it up, seal it and store away in a nice cool dark place then I check every 2-3 months on it.....the MM will probably be ready next year.

I think that is also the male cross with the Mendo girl that you got.....hope so and it is a female coz I have some good feelings about this cross:D

I had a good feeling as soon as I heard of this mating. MMxMG I note, is pretty much a Thai x Skunk Haze hybrid, and a similar cross to what SamS is selling these days. The MMxMG you're referring to are going in the ground this weekend. fri/sat/sun are all prime planting days according to the Moon calendar.

I have also germinated another MM x ? cross which is blowing me away in the growth department and has a leaf pattern with a higher number of serrations than either the MMWW or MMMG. I would suspect it is a MM x Oaxacan cross, except it was an exceedingly large seed (unlike the O). Are no. of leaf serrations indicative of sativa dominance, and if so could this be an MM x Sumatran perhaps?

I dont know mate, it is possible. I never really got to check each plant out after harvest for smell and such as J grabbed all the seed plants from that mixed seed, cleaned them and threw all the seed in one container.....lol. lucky I am a quiet person. We will check them during the year and I can tell you then.
Hey mate give them a soaking in seasol before planting and they will not suffer at all from a transplant.
Yeah I know its good this weekend for planting and I have a Nev Haze, SSH, Kariba Surprise, Mango Haze, Fet 303, Kali Mist 97 model, Chocolupe, Nambian Black and a Panama Red to go in next to each other. Lol....I am giving the Nev Haze a head start cos no sexed out MM yet:D

Hey Hempy here is the pics of the 2 Panama Red males I got, you can see the fatter leaf on these better than the females.

Panama Red, damn, I've been after that for years. I received 56 seeds of it last year but then went and lost them when I got bust, that one still irks me.

If you make more Panama seeds I'd give my left nut for a few. Well, maybe not, I need my nuts, but I have some Colombian Gold that might tempt ya.

If you get a ton of pollen from your males and fancy sharing a bit I'd love to hit my mother collection with it then send you some of the seeds that resulted, Panama Red x Colombian Gold sounds like something that might be very interesting.

Keep up the great work, love your threads.

PS. on the fat leaf thing on the Panamanians, I wouldn't think that indicates any doubts to it's authenticity or purity, Panama Red was lowland Colombian Red genes grown on the islands of the Panama isthmus and the lowland Colombian Reds were quite broad-leafed, they are said to be the descendants of Afghan cultivars introduced in the 1940s.

Hi BH, thanx mate.....Hmmm those CG's sound good:D Thats not good news about the bust, I had the same thing happen to me but I was lucky they only got the seed crop and didnt find all the seeds. I will try and get some seeds made as soon as I can by using clones. I have 8 females, but only those 2 males, not really a great # for a good selection.
Hempy and I have been discussing this strain and he noted that the pics of the fems I put up didnt have the fat leaf like he remembers, but as you can see the male has. I would say that the females will change a bit as they get older and are put in the ground.

Given the rarity of Panama Red genes these days even an open pollination between 8 females and 2 males would be a worthwhile preservation attempt imho. I've seen a lot of variation in leaf blade thickness depending on environment so I don't put a lot of store in it these days, I've seen the addition of some 10000k actinic T5 tubes as supplements to a HPS made leaves change a fair bit so there are a ton of factors that influence it imho. Also, it's gotten to the point where I don't care that much about absolute purity of old classics, as long as they are good enough to warrant being growing and enjoyed that is enough for me.

I didn't lose all my seeds, just a few, a large part of the rest are still in a friend's fridge in Holland but I can't go get them and I'm too nervous of them getting lost to have him mail em over, I am hoping a friend will be able to bring em back one day.

The Colombian is lovely, I have my doubts it's 100% pure as it's only 12-14 weeks indoors and gets very chunky with huge buds and tons of resin, but the smell, taste and high are authentic for a Santa Marta Gold so I don't really care, it's such as easy strain to clone and grow indoors with such a beautiful smell and taste I'll always have it in my garden. I expect she has been polluted a wee bit many generations back but I'll never really know for sure.

G'day Kanga,
Good to see that you have the MM x Sumartran.
Thats one of my all time fav's true motivation weed I can dig & till all day on Her.
Ive still got a few beans of that line in storage that I got back in 79 from Main Arm.

BTW The first time I went to Nimbin Back in 76.
I smoked some weed called Black Gunge. It was a Large Indian Sativa with very long leaves 50 cm, with a distinctive seration, Feathery buds with huge calaxes & resin beads, the darkest green leaf colour I have ever seen.
Smelt like Fermented Coal tar with a spicey hash undertones. It was the stickest blackest shit Ive ever seen.
She gave the most complexed high I have ever experienced.
Have you come across this strain in your travels?

Regards BP

hiya mate they look good interesting the male has a different looking leaf.

Hi mate....I have been carrying around the Sumatran strain with me since I went up to Northern Sumatra in the mid 70's on a surf exploration trip. I dont count it as one of my top strains, but it does have a nice balanced high.
I had some friends here that were growing a dark looking strain, it is possible that this could have been the Black Gunge and I think they called it the Black.
They also had the Ducksfoot....But now they have all gone different ways so dont know what has happened it.

No worries there BH I will defenitely be doing a lot of seed. I have noticed that the 2 Swazi's (Skunk & Red) I have here look a bit the same, as in plant structure.....I guess i will have to wait till they have finished flowering to see the real difference.

Have you grown the Colombian outdoors ??? Sounds nice even if it isnt pure.

Hey Kanga,

The Panamas look great! Yeah I also wouldn't put much after thought about the large leaves. My Colombian Golds all had really fat leaves in veg and then I planted them outdoors and they turned trifolate and thin leafed. Many sativas that I have grown have had fat leafs then thinned out as they matured. I can't wait to see these babies of yours mature.

Hi Snow....yeah mate I know they can change. I must say I am really enjoying all these new strains after growing the same things for such a long time. At the moment I am teaching everything to swim:D

I cant believe iv only just found this thread. Your a top grower Kangativa, how long have you been growing for ?

So how long do you cure your pot for then Kangativa ? do you find it gets more potent the longer you leave it mate ?

Hi mate.....With the Sats I will cure up to 6 months. Yes I find they get stronger the longer left.
The important thing is to make sure it is sealed with as little air as possible and stored in a cool dark place. Then I find if you let it air for about 24-48 hrs to dry so the stem snaps then it pretty cose to perfect.

Hi all.....I did pics of all the strains before I chopped the buds out to get them to re-veg......Here are a couple of Nev Hazes that I picked out, one had the purple leaf stem and the other not, one also had a thicker bud structure.
Not having grown this strain before, I was wondering if the purple is normal ??

Nice one Kanga,

That Oaxacan x WW, should be a sweet tasting smoke.
Which way does she lean or is she a nice balance of both?
