Hi mate, do you do the mix seed to ensure genetic diversity, or just for the pleasure of having a smorgasboard of original lines? It seems like an unusual practice, yet one that provides a number of benefits - primarily through uncovering some robust mongrel material, that is then mated to your royal blue bloods, by which time you have a selection of strong, genetically diverse progeny.

Can you identify which seeds have been mated to the MM and which to the Oaxacan?

While I respect the fact that Nevil has some superior olfactory perception; it must be remembered that he also retains the title of as the King of Cannabis, and as such it's important that the King has a royal taster to ensure that he isn't poisoned.

For the service of the realm and the safety King Nevil 1st, I hereby publicly volunteer myself as royal taster, that the Crown isn't endangered by your suspect sativas.

Yeah mate I just like doing it for the diversity, with this lot I just collected pollen off the Mex and MM in the same container and hand pollinated them.
When it comes to the smells you can usually tell what was from what because the two males always put their own smell to each cross and that is added to the underlying smells of the female .

This year I also crossed the Space Shuttle to both males, but seperately of course, as i also did to the Mex x WW and MM x WW.....This could prove to be very interesting. But you can see the problems when I do this, is that I now have 8 crosses to look at and grow and without the aid of lights its to much:D

Here are some pics of the two males I used this year, you can see the big leaf on the MM and the slighly thinner leaf on the Mex.
They are on a hot western slope without water so look a bit poor

Lol.....mate I am sure you will always be the royal tester

err.. Sorry.. Another misunderstanding.. I do well at this.. Its possibly this old "LTJ-Bukem - Logical Progression" thats distracting me tonight.. Coupled with some old skool Power Plant..

What I meant was... Have any of you outdoor dudes "actually" grown it outdoors..

That "Grail" thread is about genetics and who has the biggest seed collection and who had what first... WHAT!!!! I come from a place where that shit doesn't mean anything so I cant really understand what everyone is saying.. Its a bit like a willy waving contest if you ask me..

Anyways.. Anyone grown it and got some cool stories etc.. Non genetic (willy waving) would be cool..

adiós
Doobz

hi mate......Unfortunetly I havent grown any pure Columbian outdoors, well not knowingly:D
I am sure it will do well in SA.
Try Donald Mallards thread he has a awesome gene pool over there and might have some answers for you......good luck mate amd make sure you make lots of seed....cheers K

Cheers for that Kanga, I am reading his threads now..

Unfortunately they are not 100% Colombian gold. They guy who has organized the seeds for me has crossed them already with the same Chronic X Sensi Star I am growing in the indoors thread..

I can only imagine he has done this as here in the U.K the Gold would never finish outdoors so hopefully crossing it might reduce the flowering time a little and be a load more suited to indoors.. The cool thing is they are untested so its a bit like "un-chartered waters" -

Thats a shame....Would have been good to see some nice Columbians grown in SA. Anyway sounds like a nice cross and i am sure you will have fun with them:D

Kanga, I am totally impressed with your skills as a grower and breeder. Kudos mate! It is a real credit to Australia!

Thanx mate.....We are lucky down here to have such a great array of excellent growers and breeders. If only we could have the leniency for growing MJ that California has...Then I am sure with the talent we have here we could be one of the forerunners in supplying world class Medical MJ.
I just hope a change is on its way:D

I was after some info on the Fet 303 a Aussie strain that I was lucky enough to to be given.
This is what Hempy found for me that was put up by Fet himself....Thanks mate:D
Anyway I thought some people might like the read....

Breeder's Description - '303'

I do not know the complete breeding back ground of this strain but I have been told it consist of what flooded this land back in the early 70s the all great PNG Gold and various Hawaiian/Fuji strains. Papua New Guinea Gold would most likely be the main contributor to this strain. Some time back it was then crossed with a wide leaf strains as the old timers call it, Indica I presume? They crossed what they already had with the wide leaf variety (indica?) to rise above there competition and this is what they have today? With this indica crossing it has most likely cut down the flowering time making this strain possible to grown indoors and still be able to control it. 303 is a sweet spicy fruity flavour with a piney-fruity aroma with a very intense high mind-lifting it can bring about heart-racing and even panic for users not used to strong sativas or if overdone, due to its creeping effect can soon have you blown off your feet. Don't make the mistake of wacking a few fast ones down because before you know it your praying it will wear off fast as it can just become to intense for the user. This strain is a super long lasting stone that does not need to be constantly topped up every hour like many it just last and last. The flowers are not show material but they certainly pack a punch so look out !

So my intention is to cross this strain with the Mullum male only and hopefully produce a nice all Aussie strain.
This cross should also produce improved flower structure and just maybe bring the flowering time down on the MM.

Do it man that would be a killer cross. I wouldn't care if it flowered for 12 months..lol

OK Kanga, what have you done to Bushweed? Didn't your Mum ever tell you,
