Mark's Angel's Breath - New Year's Haze

thats a main haze cola  looking really nice Mark!

wish i could try her after the cure. Wonder how her effect is on me. Im still figuring out what my thing is exactly, i do like the hazes, love the rush it gives me but also like that hammering down feeling after some more joints.

In two of those mango`s i talked about i find these things i like, i gues heres the skunk in it that gives that hammering down feeling.
The other two are more rush and uplifting. and i think these are more the kind you like.

I really wanted to show them to ya but i didnt make any pic of the run due circumstances. I can post up some dry buds if you like.

The structure of that is very similar to the Acapulco Gold I just grew. I am certain that it is much stronger than the AG, which does smell sublime, of lemons. Very small resin glands. I haven't actually even sampled the longer flowering plant. The quick flowering of the two had disappointing potency However, I am an edibles and hash oil guy these days, so take it with a grain of salt.

Da kine right there! As I have described before with my old friend professor jj, this is my favorite plant structure; that long single stacking calyxed dreadlock reminding me of the thai from the old days. Most of the time indicative of the euphoria I seek. I just love that look! So tasty creamy with that sublime smell!
Smoking Nevilles this morn got me to thinking about a spot on comment you made a few days ago- those 14 weekers are MY preferred smoke for sure! Keep em comin braddah!

Cool runnings

Thanks all for your kind words, guys. Musashi, I'm honored that something I posted came into your mind while toking the Nevs, and I agree with you that these are the kind of plants that I'm most interested in. Much respect to all my MNS brothers.

Both of these Angel's Breathe F2s have produced very good smoke, aromas and tastes. I have a couple 7' tall AB F2 seed plants going outside, and one of them may finish if we can get some sunshine and a few more weeks without a frost. I still have a clone of the father of these plants, AB1, and based on very limited testing of his progeny, he's a pretty good stud, so I'm going to keep him around and hopefully test his progeny from other pairings.

Hello Marcus, I've just joined the forums but I've been lurking as a guest on your thread for a while now. I've got some AB's currently growing (they look like shit because of my mistakes) but I'm hoping to get something close to what you have had. Great looking plants and buds mate :)

Thanks for the compliments, Night4wings20, and welcome to MNS forums! I'd love to see some pics of your Angel's Breathe grow if possible. The real fun starts when you grow out the F2s! Great genetics in MNS gear.

No worries and thank you for welcoming me :) I'll get some of my photos uploaded sometime, just put them into flower so it's about to get fun haha. I have no plans of breeding with any of these AB/AH plants so males will be turfed at first sighting. I have more beans to play with so yeah this grow is sinsemilla for the most part (well that's what i want out it at least). I agree, MNS has some amazing genetics that you just can't beat the quality and pricing! Especially on the auctions, so cheap!

Expect to see my journal starting up within the next few days :)
Cheers mate

AB F2 #5, Round 2

ABF25 was such a wonderful plant. After a 6-month cure the flavor is epic, old school and awesome...it's how weed is supposed to taste. The high is really powerful, psychedelic, trippy after extended toking, and extremely long lasting. I smoked a half joint with my cousin and he called me four hours later to tell me he was still high and to ask if I could get him some. My son was astonished to find himself still soaring 3 hours after we smoked a half jay. A pathologist friend of mine had to hang out and watch TV at my house for a few hours after smoking because she wasn't comfortable driving. And that lingering aroma in the air...holy shit, this is near grail material. I liken it to being close to a Haze C female. For bonus points, ABF25 and her parents showed complete sexual stability.

I neglected my veg cabinet a couple months ago and almost lost the clone, but revived it. I did lose the AB1 male that fathered this girl. So now I'm growing out a couple ABF25 plants along with a bunch of long-winded Colombian punto rojo. I'm going to use this girl as my male test bed and am going to hit it with pollen from punto rojo, punto rojo x mangobiche, a resinous satty leaning Grail Widow F2, and from AB1, her father that I always thought looked to be Thai leaning. Backcrossing to the father intrigues me, especially now that I've lost that male, but I still have a lot of AB1 pollen in the freezer, which should still be viable. The plan is to find a suitable replacement male in the progeny of the F3 backcross. I'm also looking for some pollen that has legit Haze A if anyone can hook me up.

Here's a rooted clone of ABF25 after 25 days in the flower tent. Just salivating over what that main cola is going to look like come harvest time near midsummer.

Good stuff Marcus! While I have been growing and enjoying the <50% haze hybrids lately, I am looking forward to getting back to growing these spicy numbers sometime soon. I envision an AB/NHM cross. I am also sitting on a bunch of Doors seeds and look forward to finding something worthwhile here, perhaps, maybe :) So, in the meantime and until I get back in the saddle on these 14+ wk. plants, I will just have to console myself with your beautiful pictures. Too many choices and not enough time eh? Thanks for your great posts and pics!

~ 8 weeks

Musashi, brother, I wasn't familiar with that Bob Marley quote before; it's perfect. Fish and PMB, friends, thanks for tagging along and for your thoughtful comments. Greetings to all my MNS compadres.

Here's my Angel's Breathe F2 #5 8 weeks into a second run. These plants are much smaller than I wanted; the clones had not fully rooted when I put them into flower, the plant on the left was a replacement of a clone that didn't take, and is about 2-3 weeks behind the other one.

Beautiful smells, despite the underdeveloped root systems. Going to hit the one on the left with pollen in a couple weeks.

Here's the apical cola of the older plant. Still bursting with snow-white pistils at the apex. Slowly building dreadlocks. I'll start to harvest the lower buds in 6 more weeks and it'll be another 10 weeks before the main cola is finished.

Hey Marcus! It is nice to see your continued commitment to this variety. Very few threads go beyond f1's so very appreciative of your willingness to share your discoveries. I still remember those flavors and smells! A very special plant that needs to be revisited.
Ouch, I am completely out of NHM, NH, NL5/HZ- all great strains! Still sitting on enough bottles of MH and MH IBL to get me through.... My current NL5/Af grow looks promising and so I will finish it up in a good way. I really want to find some flavorful, stinky, serious medicine in this variety so I can wrap it up on the Indie side and get back to the hazes. Love that spicy, zingy, open-headed stuff, oh yeah! Thanks for the bud porn braddah!

Many thanks for chiming in, Musashi. I can only hope to approach your growing skills brother.

I wanted to rejuvenate my Angel's Breathe F2 #5 clone with some honest-to-God Earth and sunshine, so I planted clone of this exceptional plant outdoors earlier this summer. She's looking healthy. I'll take cuts soon and keep her in my veg cabinet, and I'll also seed her up with pollen from her father, AB1, and from The Doors. Hopefully she lasts long enough to give me some seed.

Here's that same plant two months later at 42N. She's doing great, but a little floppy and in danger of blowing over in the autumn winds, so I staked her up. Weather forecast calls for 4 days of straight rain, but no frost for the next week or so.

There's no way this plant will finish outside, but what I'm after are the seeds. I used pollen from my Doors male and from her father, AB1 (pollen still frozen and maybe viable after two years?) on the lower branches, and some very special pollen from a 1978 punto rojo courtesy of a kind and generous MNS member. That pollen is precious, so I used just a tiny bit on the uppermost apical cola of ABF25. You can see the seeds forming in the second pic. This has potential to be one hell of an out cross. Hope she survives long enough to ripen the seeds...I only need a couple more weeks.

Thanks for sharing the outdoor photo. Besides the leaf shape, it doesn’t even look like the same cut. I’m sending some prayers that the PR seeds finish. The AB x doors should be a screamer.

I think the difference in how this clone grows vs the others is the outdoor plant only gets a few hours of direct sunlight during the height of summer. So it's a lot leafier with smaller buds. The awesome hazy citrus-mango-pine aromas on the buds are the same though. I'm hopeful the seeds on the outdoor plant will finish, as the 10-day forecast is mostly calling for lows in the 40s. I'm afraid the parental pollen from AB1 is no longer viable though, as I'm not seeing much sign of seed on the buds I painted with that 2-year-old frozen pollen that hes been through a few thaw cycles. Hopefully I get a few because back-cross to the father could yield some interesting plants. I did get some ABF25 x AB1 seeds from a previous grow, but those clones were also hit hard by stray punto rojo hermie pollen. In either case it would be fun to grow them out. :D

I’ve been on vacation in Colorado and smoking some strong chem hybrids. They seem great at first but a bit boring after a week. I’m really missing those good vibes and unique aromas we get from the lumbos and haze x’s.

I recently found the last remaining bud of chemish weed I grew from western Mass bagseed in my very first indoor grow 2.5 years ago. My (grown) kids and their friends raved about it and called it old school. I think it's good weed with a unique and pungent flavor but it's not old school. And it does get boring after a while.

That is a beautiful plant you have there MD. The colour and leaf is really nice.
Good luck with the weather this week.
Hope it doesn't rain too much there.

I might be able to stretch this beautiful plant out another week or so until harvest. She's weathering rain beautifully; I found a tiny rotted bud under a wet maple leaf, but that's it.

The resin continues to build despite almost no direct sunlight and the aromas are beautiful, sweet mango, pine and lemon with an incredible floral backdrop. Interesting that the terps don't change at all from indoors to out. This is the most beautifully fragrant MNS plant I've grown, and it's the churchiest smoke I've had. It truly is a keeper, and I have lots of seed in there, The Doors, backcross to her father AB1 (some of the 2-year old pollen seems to remain viable!), and some prized 1978 punto rojo in the apical bud. I have high hopes for all these crosses. The seeds are now mature but it's still another week to a hard frost with some sun in the forecast, so I'll continue to let her grow, swell the buds, and further mature the seeds.

Well fuck. I thought that photo looked suspicious, so I ran back out for another look and saw this:

bud_rot_ABF25.jpg

Snipped the apical cola (where the '78 punto rojo seeds are) and inspected the plant thoroughly, and found one more little area on a bud with poor air circulation, which was excised. I opened up the colas as much as I could, and the forecast calls for more rain today/tonight, increased wind, and sun for the next few days. I salvaged all seeds but one from the snipped cola and I'm going to leave the plant for now. Or maybe I'll just pull it. Can an entire plant rot in 16 hours?

Pull it now braddah. You'll spend more time if later, trying to salvage pieces resulting in lesser bud.

Greetings Fish,

On two occasions I've made seeds backcrossing ABF25 to her father AB1. The first time I did that there were some punto rojo that went full herm and pollinated the whole tent, so I don't know which seeds are the backcross and which are the Lumbo outcross. Be fun to grow out either way. :D I tried again last summer and did manage to make some more backcross seeds which I have yet to grow out. Amazingly, the two-year-old pollen still seems viable, although I get fewer seeds than I did when the pollen was fresh..

I'm really psyched to see what this line can do in your outdoor environment. You are spot-on regarding the duck-foot leaves. Proof positive that a plant doesn't need to have skinny leaves to be long flowering with a sativa bud structure and effect
