Mango Haze and Mango Haze IBL, in search of a keeper

"... coffee beans don’t really “reset” your ability to smell. They merely change what we are used to smelling.
... By changing what you are smelling, you keep your nose from becoming desensitized. Coffee beans do this. But so would a lemon, lime, orange, and other things. This effect isn’t unique to coffee beans alone."

If you want to reset your palates the best way to deal with olfactory fatigue is to simply smell your own skin. Perfumers will sniff the crook of their elbows when necessary. I tried this and it seems to work. I then smelled my pits after a night of peyote--- uh, that was a reset for sure :ROFLMAO:

man, that looks good. i know the pain, swifty, describing the smells is super difficult. i think the best way to train your nose is blindfolded with all kinds of vials of essential oils... i haven't yet commited to this step, but i might in the future.

Man you have some nice looking flowers there Swifty. If I can suggest something you probably already have done and that is to look at your trichs to see how clear, cloudy or amber they are and pick whichever stage you like those colors at. Just judging from the pistils it seems that they can go longer.
Thank you @BrotherBoris, good genetics to start with. I'm very pleased with the different pheno's, there has to be at least one that ticks my boxes. :)

I will not let them go further because I grow outside in a glorified shed and I do not use heating for economical reasons.
Now if the smoke impresses me they will have a second chance next year.

Stunning photography and plants @Swifty 😍 that MH IBL #9 looks and sounds like a haze dream coming true 😍
Thanks @pleased420! Taking pictures is not something I'm good at. Always feel that they look better in real life.
When my finances allow me, I will invest in a proper camera.

I feel the same about that IBL#9, so far it is the only one that smells really special like my SSH.
Smoke reports will follow.😄

Coffee Beans have been used for many moons for this :)

Thanks for the tips @Cloffy & @musashi!

For my last plants I plan on smelling some coffee beans, a lime, an onion, some thyme and then my armpits.
If that doesn't reset my nose nothing will!:ROFLMAO:

Totally understand. I just had to do the same. Had a visqueen cover over a couple but now it will be freezing. They probably could have gone another month! Mostly sativa genetics in them. Gland heads were clear and lots of them. Nice fairly potent clear headed up buzz at this stage so I’m ok. Would have been great to see full potential but I live where I live. Maybe an indoor again soon. By the way Swiftly, you must be a very busy man! You have a lot going on…

Day 93 of flower,

The remaining 3 are showing lots of milky trichomes, I could not bear to harvest them this weekend.
They are close to finishing and will get an extra week, so final harvest is planned at day 100. 🥳
Smells are al complex, sweet, some mango and tropical vibes.
I lowered the wattage further down to encourage ripening, 🤞

Lighting is at 225w CMH, led's are at 50% and distance is aprox. 20-25cm to the plants.
They receive 14h lights off and 10h lights on.
They only get rainwater, no feed and I tend to let them get dryer than before.
Temps are around 17°C (when lights off around 8°C), RH around 50%.

These sativa diva's are very nice to look at, I have high expectations from them.

I started trimming the harvested Mango's and of course sampled some and I'm blown away by the potency this early on.
I did notice that the scents became softer, hope to have them back after some curing.
They are dried in colder conditions, my SSH cut is by far the strongest smelling so far (and smells like usual, if not better this round) so I know that they dried properly.

Here are al 3 of them in one frame:

Greetings.
Impressive work 😍.
So wild looking girl's great work 💪.
This purple 💜 pheno looks different how it smells ?
I believe lower temperatures you provide them has to do with the colour but looks pretty purple 🟣💜

Thanks @Apollo.:)

I have 2 pheno's that show some purple, Mango Haze IBL#1 and Mango Haze IBL#9.
#1 did had some colour past summer when it finished outside.
It smelled more like wood and earth and when dried it smelled like chocolat and coffee.
This round she smells more perfume like and tropical, then some wood. Very complex smell.

Indica lovers just don't understand. 😴
Indeed, more enhancing, positive and dept can be found in the high!🚀

man that is looking great. i love those purple calyxes and those endless stacks of white pistils!
Thanks, i love them too.🤘

Day 101 of flower,

Just took some pictures and turned the lights off. Now 24h darkness and tomorrow I will harvest them all.
They have progressed but unfortunatly not 100% ready.

Temps are getting low, lights on 15°C and 9°C at lights off.🥶
I reckon that continuing is a waste of energy from now on.

Mango Haze IBl #1 & #6 are fine but #4 still has 50% clear and 50% cloudy trichs.
I will see how these smoke, if good they get another chance.
Tomorrow more pics and descriptions.

I've been sampling some of the harvested Mango's and potency is good. Some have a exceptional high already.
Smoke reports after some curing.

Last pics of the shed for this year:

This grow was not easy, I anticipated them being smaller but they did deliver quality buds in the end.
The Mango line is high quality and has the potential to deliver unique terps and highs.
Well worth the effort if you ask me.

Smoke reports will decide what pheno's get a second chance.

These females exceeded my expectations!🤩

Hope you liked the show,
Swifty
