Mango Haze and Mango Haze IBL, in search of a keeper

Hello,

Update on the seedlings!

I'm blessed with 9 Mango Haze IBL and 16 Mango Haze, that makes a total of 25 plants to make a selection.
Glad I sowed another straw of seeds.
I see some thinner leaves in there, makes me happy.
So 9/21 for Mango Haze IBL and 16/22 for Mango Haze, not bad for seeds that I have for over 12 years by now.
Next time I'm sprouting older seeds I will follow @musashi and let them soak in dark water.

They are doing well, only water and sun so far.
When the box with the cuttings is free I plan to transplant them into small pots.
Still haven't decided if I let them flower outside, as I usually do, or if I make space in the shed.

Here you see Mango Haze IBL:

The Mango Haze IBL and Mango Haze are now also in the shed.
I will try to keep them as small as possible to flower them out.
Normally I do this outdoor but I will try the same approch indoors, we will see how it goes.

There is a huge difference between the biggest IBL's and the smallest Mango's.
Therefore I let the biggest become rootbound but all where transplanted today andshould take of this week.
Next is topping them to create 2 branches, one for flowers and one for making a new mom/dad.

I will give a more detailed description later on, it's a very busy moment for me.

It's been almost a week now and I see that they are enjoying themselfs.
This week they had some feeding, small dose of Calmag and Silic Rock.
New growth is healthy and strong.
There is less difference between individuals now.

After I made these pictures they where topped, left 3 nodes on every plant to keep 2 branches on each individual in the end.
Already smelled some indian kitchen, sweeter fruits, coffee and one smelled very strong skunk.
The runts seem to grow out of it, there are 25 healthy plants.

Next step is to divide these in 2 pots, take cuts and flower them out as small plants.

Update,

Plants are topped, only 2 branches left on every plant. I keep one branch to flower and one to become the new mother/father plant.
I transplanted them yesterday, 12 plants are fit in one pot. Half of the dirt is amended with bat guano as with the main grow.
Temps were very low this week (minimal was 6°C) but they took it well.

I labeled the plants:
Blue is Mango Haze Inbred Line
Yellow is Mango Haze

Plants are going into flower tomorrow. As soon as I can I will make the cuts this week.
As I spot a male he will be culled but evaluated first (I still have the cut saved).

Here you can see the 2 pots:

As I had only room for 12 plants I kept the most special looking individual in a seperate container. Love the look of the leaves and from the start it was the most sativa dom of all the seedlings. It is a Mango Haze IBL:

Update on the mango's:

They exploded this week, tomorrow is one week in flowering.
I will make the cuts for mother/father plants tomorrow and take some extra pics. Not much to be seen, only a sea of green!
They are all doing good.
Feeding is the same as in the SSH thread.

Today is one week of flowering.
I made a cut of every plant this morning, as soon as I spot a male he will be culled but the cut is going to be assessed later on.
They are al numbered and ready to show me what they are made of.:)

Have a good day.

Update:

Tomorrow they are 2 weeks in flowering.
They are also doing well, healthy plants with strong growth.

First males are culled and first females are confirmed.
Once I culled al the males I will make a pic of every female more in detail.
I will put some sticks in the pots and try to position every female in order to recieve best light as possible.

General overview before removing males:

Update on the Mango's:

This week did not go as planned.
The shed is overgrown and I had to pull the mango's out.
I did this today, It was a hard decision to make but I can do only 2 grows in a year.
This works to build a stock to last me through the year if harvests are good.

I do have every female backed up now ( 9 of 14 cuts are already rooted, 5 remaining still look good).
They are outside now but they have to go, I will cull them this week after evalutation and when I am sure I have a clone of every female.
Don't have the time now to force flower them further outside.

I will run them after this grow is done so stay tuned.

I still have the Mango Haze IBL #1 in the shed, will keep postings updates on this one.

Here are the last pictures:

I like the look of her :):

MHIBL40Nice.jpg

It's a shame but the cuts will back!

Greetings.

I see that 10/14 female cuts MHI+MH are rooted.
Remaining cuts look strong so I will cull the females today after stem rub and evaluation.

They are al showing strong sativa dom traits and have stretched a fair bit this week.
Nice tropical smells coming from them.

It wil be a short veg for these in my next round so I don't end up like my current SSH's. Some of them are reaching 1,2m.

I don't normaly flower untested genetics but for these I will make an exception.

They are fragrant and very vigourous and I can see the relation with SSH in these.
I have high hopes for finding another keeper like my SSH.

MHIBL41Nice.jpgMHIBL42Nice.jpg

Have a nice weekend!

Update on the Mango Haze IBL #1 (tomorow she enters the 5th week of flowering):

I gave her some extra dirt (no amendments) this morning by placing the same size pot under her.
I changed her pot with the same one but with extra big holes in.
The roots can now grow further down fairly unrestricted.

Same feeding as the SSH grow.

She is a slow responder, I guess that she wasn't fully mature yet.

From all my MH and MHI females I now have 11/14 rooted.

Update on Mango Haze #1:

It's a long flowering pheno, still hasn't stopped stretching. Could very well be that she wants more light.
I don't think that she is going to be flowered until harvest here, need the space for the cuts as soon as my grow is ready.
I plan on letting her continue outside.

She does look very interesting, I'm excited to smoke or vape this girl.

In the mean time 13/14 cuts have rooted from Mango Haze IBL and Mango Haze females.
Mango Haze #6 failed to root but I took another 3 clones from the mom that was flowering. Al the seedplants are culled now.
Some interesting smells already!

Update on Mango Haze #1:

She kept on growing so I topped her past monday.
I've pulled her out this morning to see her better and I'm amazed by how much she has grown since I started flowering.
She is the most sativa dom plant I've grown by the looks of it.
First trich's are starting to show, even on the stalks of leaves.
She starts giving of scents, can't describe it yet.

Good news on the cuts, all have rooted👏, next round will be 14 females of Mango Haze IBL and Mango Haze.

The upper part is to far away from the light now, lower buds seems a bit more developed:

Update:

She is taking her sweet time, I will let het finish outside under 10/14 (forced flowering) when I harvest the shed.
Al the cuts of Mango Haze IBL and Mango haze are up potted into 1L pots and will be started in the shed in 1-2 weeks.
I will do my best to give these 2 strains justice. They will be flowered in 20L buckets, I won't top them but will give them a short veg time.

She smells strange atm, very forest like and subtile:

Greetings.
It looks like there’s some strong Haze traits in her genes. 👍

Hello,

She is starting to progress, trich's are developing and first signs of bud are visible.
Smell is now like a kind of wood with some sweetness to her but still discreet.
I will place her outdoors by the end of the week and force flower her further with 10/14.
I will have to change the time for light and dark drastically, we will see how stress resistant she is...

Feeding was not good this week (underfed + a bit to much of water) and it shows clearly in the older leaves.

I will start the next round with my Mango Haze Inbred (6) and Mango Haze (8) + SSH (1) female clones next weekend and continue here with that grow.
I will post a pic of this one from time to time.
The males are still alive and I will collect pollem from them to freeze and use later on (I will take some pics once they are in flower).
