I've fallen, and I can't get up! Pass the Medicine Man...😷

you're killing it @Diesel840
killing it with love
Thank you Ken A. 🤗

I have a few small MM gave a stem rub few days ago and could not describe the aroma, what you describe there is it.

Exciting times.
That's neat you have the same aroma. I'm glad I could articulate it properly. I was having a hard time capturing it, and then it hit me, musky. I rather enjoy it actually. All of them are putting off similar profiles. I'm so excited!!🤩

Outside if a plant is in the ground then slight PH changes are dealt with by soil microorganisms etc.

In a pot inside there is less leeway in my experience and PH flutuations are not always appreciated by the plant.

For people with really excellent recycled living soil this may not be such a problem.

However a purchased mix is less likely to have all the goodies that a living soil would have.

Worms, nematodes, benficial bacteria etc.
This flower cycle I have really tried to make a good biome and to pay attention to ph. My other grows under the same light all had issues with what looked like cal mag issues. I haven't had any issues with cal mag this grow, assuming that was the issue before.

The other day I watered and I could actually see little critters swimmimg around like crazy in my run off water. I don't know if they are harmless, benificial, or detrimental, but I surely have something living in my soil. Incase they were fungus gnat larvae I've began wattering with gnatrol.

I try and shoot for watering with plain water and topdressing if necessary.

Whenever I start adding stuff to the water I start having problems.

Putting the additives in the soil and seeing what works best has given me the best results so far.

Still getting better each time.

It seems the liquid fertilizers are either very low ph or very high to help preserve them.

Then if I start trying to correct the PH things can spiral out of control even quicker.

So to reduce my anxiety and overall stress levels I have learnt not to go there.

Compost teas and such may give better results than I have experienced with commercial products.

once or twice hermie from unstable lighting.
focus, focus, focus @Diesel840 you got this !

Light leaks on the other hand are well known to cause hermaphroditism. If i would be a betting man, thats what i would put my money on.

I checked my light trap, just in case. I could see light coming into the "lung room" from my led. I taped it up best as I could with black electrical tape. I had to pluck about 8 nanners out of the top main bud on a Medicine man near the air intake.

My SSH that stressed out were always by the front of the tent (it doesnt always seal right) and/or by the air intake vent.

Ok. Hermie checklist:
1. Light leaks ✅️
2. Excessively High temps ✅️
3. Excessively Low temps✅️
4. Humidity swings✅️
5. Excessive light intensity ✅️
6. Possible PH✅️

Yep... I've really put these plants through the ringer.😅

Chip away at them, soon you will be looking back and nanner free
Thanks. For what they dealt with, a few nanners and a sac or two is nothing.

My first time I grew, one plant threw sacks and nanners everywhere. 😫

I'm learning alot in this grow and dialing in the environment. This is a chance to improve and up my game so I can eventually do harder strains.

. People who really love their plants and want the best for them tend to over water and over feed them. They're fucking weeds, treat them as such. They're not Prima Donna's or Ballerina's, there weeds. While your problem may not be over watering it's something to keep an eye on. A lot of your leaf tips are pointing down - a classic sign of over watering(among other things haha). How do your leaves feel? Do they feel firm? Flimsy? Papery? These are clues as to what's going on with your plants. Forget about the millions of strains you can't decide on growing and concentrate on the ones you are growing. I know I've sugar-coated this quite a bit as it is a family site but hopefully you get my drift.
I keep coming back to this post. I never experienced this before, but this grow, it seems to be cropping up over and over. And yes, I should probably devote 100% of my attentention and love to the plants I have going, instead of dreaming what I'll grow next. Pearls of wisdom are often hard to swallow but are of the most importance.

I believe my hermie recent past is due to light leak caused by a laundry room grow. Son(s) turning on fluorescent appliance light when doing laundry as grow lights behind tarp is off. Damn uninvited
I rearranged my lung room today. I decided to take a closer look at the light trap. Turns out most of the tape had peeled away. In addition, I found a light leak at the top of the tent. Turns out the light leaks were MUCH worse than I had previously thought. I'll have to make a new one come payday.

Honestly, between the severe light leak and other environmental issues I dealt with, these plants are freaking amazing! They could have stressed so much harder than they have. Tough genes, for sure.

I'm going to dig out my spare carbon scrubber and set it up in the dry tent. I'll begin 72 hours of dark soon on the plants that are ready. I'm hoping for some more fade in the fan leaves before the pre-chop dark period.

Outdoor grower - so please excuse my ignorance - I believe that I've only ever heard the term 'lung room' in your threads. What do you mean by that?
A lung room is the room that feeds air to ones indoor grow. In a perfect world one wouldn't vent into a lung room. This is the reason I put it in quotes, since I vent into my room. My "lung room" is the spare room I have my tents in.

Thanks for asking. 😀

Hello everyone. At the moment, I'm also having issues getting photos uploaded. I've put one MM into a 48 dark period, though I'd prefer more. I'll post a photo of her once we're again able. There are a few more MM nearing their dark period, but I'm finding more SSH than MM finishing early. Like my SSH, the MM put on weight and develop quickly at the end. I'll have to keep this in mind next time, there wasn't as much fade as I'd like this run. I fed them too far into flower. I would have preferred to let this MM go another week or two, minimum, but she was severely stressed from my light leaks, and I need some medicine for my back.

MM#14a. She finished at 11 1/2" tall. I'm happy with her frost levels, though I'm thinking she might have frosted even better had I let her develop a few more weeks. Only 80-90% of the pistils had matured. 60-70% of the trichomes are cloudy, with about 30-40% being clear to slightly cloudy. She emits a mild aroma reminiscent of a damp forest floor. She isn't sporting the largest buds, about the size of marbles, but they have good density. Though she stressed out the most, I'll likely run her again to see what she can really do. I'm excited to try her out!

Congratulations to my fellow testers. Those Zunami crossses are sure to be fire!

Here is MM#14a. I'm hoping with the earlier harvest, I'll get something for pain that won't zonk me out during the day.

Morning everyone. These two girls were chopped and hung four days ago.

MM#1. She was 10 1/2" at chop with a musky-tart fruit aroma.

MM#17. She was one of the taller girls with 12 1/2" at chop. She had that same tart fruity musk type aroma.

Afternoon everyone. Here are two more gals. They were chopped and hung to dry last night after three full days of dark, instead of two like the others had.

MM#5. Probably the tallest out of the Medicine Man at 13 1/2". She was pulled early earlier than I'd like. The stress was too much for her. Her aroma was a bit different than her sisters. Where the others had a tart tropical funk, hers leaned more towards an earthy cantaloupe aroma.

MM#12. 11". This might be my frostiest girl out of the straw. Same tropically tart-fruit musk aroma as her sisters. As chances would have it, she is the only one whose mother plant I couldn't keep alive. The mum had died, and the backup clone I took during flower didn't take. I'm re-vegging #12 in case she smokes as good as she looks.

Enjoy.

Wonderful pictures and a nice report so far! 😍 Kudos to you
Thank you so much!

I trimmed my first Medicine man, MM#14a. Her larfe near the base wasn't as dry as I'd like, but the main flowers at the top had been dry for days.

Pre-chop when I was inspecting her before the 48hour dark period, I could see the trichomes falling from her like diamond dust as I moved her around. During trimming she continued to drop crystals at the slightest movement. After only a few larfy buds, I had already collected 4-5x as much hash on my scissors than the entirety of the three Super Silver Haze I recently trimmed. The scissor hash wasn't black or green like I'm used to seeing when I trim. It was beautiful brown with large gland heads taking on a sandy texture. It easily scrapped from the scissors and topped a small bowl nicely. I could feel the effect immediately upon inhalation.

MM#5- She is frosted. Whenever handling her there is always a dusting of delicate trichome heads wherever the nug was crumbled. Her flowers are a bit rounder than the others with delicate peach colored pistils. Pre-broken up, she smells very similar to my Northern Lights I previously grew, with an underlying dankness I can't describe and just the tiniest hint of nutmeg. Volume = 3/10 she isn't loud, but you can smell her. The smoke is smooth, no coughing. It tastes more of old-school bubblegum and Afghani. She relaxes the body and works as an "anytime" smoke.

I liked her nug structure, she had less larfe than other phenos. Most of the nugs had consistent density. Yield was nice, and I'm thinking her flavor would smoke amazingly with a proper cure.

Enjoy, I'm fairly certain you'll be able to see these pics ;) :ROFLMAO:

I had the same experience with another member of that family.

The Black Widow gives incredible amounts of dry sieve.

The color of sand is also a good description of how the sift looked.

I remember being amazed at the time at the amount of it and the blonde color.
