I've fallen, and I can't get up! Pass the Medicine Man...😷

😫 I found some anthers on MM#6. It was one spot, so I pulled them and am hoping for the best. Please don't tell me that I stressed out the Medicine Man as well.

Again, in case someone hasn't read my SSH thread. These poor plants have been through alot. I take full responsibility as the grower for not giving them the environment they need. Chances are, I'm the cause of the intersex trait exspressed on my plants.

only problems i ever had with mrnice seeds were 100% my error, stored them poorly or didnt germinate or fert them properly and once or twice hermie from unstable lighting.
focus, focus, focus @Diesel840 you got this !

Thanks Ken. I'll figure it out. Just gotta focus like you said πŸ˜‰. User error playes a huge role in how the plants react. I might have spent the last decade and a half reading, but I'm still a green noob when it comes to experience. I'm grateful for every mistake I make and every bump in the road. It all serves to make me a better person and hopefully better at my hobby of the soul.

Tomorrow, I'm going to descale my humidifier and get it going. Humidity has been anywhere from 30-60% in the tent. I think if I get the humidity around 45% with lights on, I should be able to lower my VPD a bit Into the acceptable range.

Unfortunately, I vent into the same room my tents in, so I have to leave a window open during the day to keep temps down. If I leave early or get home late this will often cause temps to drop from 81 with lights on, down to the low 60's with lights off.

I also need better circulation. I don't think enough air is around the base of the plants and certainly not enough on the light to keep it cool.

I'll figure it out. Thanks again for the encouragement! I need it. πŸ˜…πŸ˜†

Considering the conditions weren't always good, your plants still look nice!
Remember: we get better with every grow and keep learning along the way.
My Super Silver Haze plants were grilled in the summer heat, did herm a bit, but gave me excellent herb in the end πŸ˜‰
I think you are doing a good job πŸ’ͺ

Thanks @pleased420 I feel the same way. For how good they look despite everything they've gone through, tells me they are special. I'll get these girls dialed in eventually. Like you said, gotta learn along the way.

I'm glad you got some excellent outdoor herb despite the grueling summer heat.

Try to keep those temp swings within a 10 degee range. Plays havoc with humidity, brings condensation in tents- possible mold. A small thermostatically controlled heater can be had for $40 from AMZN. They have some cool looking ones these days.

Thanks Mu. I'll look into getting a new heater after payday. I have a small one which is supposed to turn on at certain temps. It has a built in thermostat, but I'm thinking it isn't working properly. Last time I put it in my lung room and set it to turn on at 75 degrees, I came home, and it was blasting away, and the rooms temp was in the low 90s! Needless to say, the temps in my flower tent were off the charts πŸ˜…

Haha thanks @Diesel840 they were grilled indoors, because I got no A/C πŸ˜‚
Nevertheless I think SSH can be a little challenging if you really want to dial her in. Gotta run her a few times I guess...
But you're getting the job done
Yep, I'll run her until I get her down. The one time I had SSH it was an experience. These ladies smell far too good to not keep running. Thanks. I appreciate the kind words. 😁

Under strain description for SSH it says, "For the experienced growers to the most advanced." I don't think that includes any of us three! Well, maybe pleased420!.
🀣🀣 definitely not me. But that won't stop me from trying! The best way to learn is under fire. My plans to make every mistake in the book so I can hopefully learn. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜

I haven't the funds yet to buy that heater. I did however lower my LED from 100% to 80% dropping my temp swings from 21+ degrees difference to 12-15 degree difference.

I think that both my temps and light intensity played a role in stressing my plants.

I need to give my babies the environment they deserve πŸ˜„

Hi all. I hope everyone finds themselves well on this beautiful day. Medicine Man #1 is looking like she will be ready for harvest soon. 70-80% of her pistils have turned a beautiful shade of pumpkin orange. Her trichomes are mostly cloudy with about 5-10% still clear and a few ambering up here and there. She has a musky tart fruit aroma about her. She was 7" at flip and is only 10 1/2" exactly 7 weeks since flipping to 12/12.

She was watered with organic bottled nutes ph'd to 6.5, two days ago. That will be her last real feeding. From now on, she will only be watered with ph'd dechlorinated water and blackstrap molasses.

Here is a photo of her. It unfortunately doesn't do her justice. she looks much frostier in person than in the picture.

looking good, diesel.

in answer to your tea pH questions, I dont think pH is much of a big issue when growing organic. Don't worry too much about it. Light leaks on the other hand are well known to cause hermaphroditism. If i would be a betting man, thats what i would put my money on.

Obviously making a compost tea with chlorinated water wont work well. so yeah, good idea to dechlorinate it. : )

Anyway, your plants are looking great on your latest pics.

Thank you for the input. I'll check my light trap, make sure there aren't any light leaks. The plants who stressed out were located by the front of tent/air intake.

I'm hoping the alkaline oh wouldn't beban issue. After Musashis post, I'v been adjusting the water to a ph of 6 the day before brewing. Just in case. The last tea I made had a better ph, post brew.

Thank you again for all your help 😁

Your plant looks good. exciting times for you.

It would be nice to have this PH issue sorted.

From the knowledge I have it is better to be slightly acidic than alkaline.

Important nutrients become unavailable as PH becomes more alkaline.

PH swings can lead to burnt leaf tips as well.

Outside if a plant is in the ground then slight PH changes are dealt with by soil microorganisms etc.

In a pot inside there is less leeway in my experience and PH flutuations are not always appreciated by the plant.

For people with really excellent recycled living soil this may not be such a problem.

However a purchased mix is less likely to have all the goodies that a living soil would have.

Worms, nematodes, benficial bacteria etc.
