I've said my piece and won't respond anymore unless it's about Grail, Haze or cannabis in general.

I will be happy to respond to PMs on any subject however. So if anyone is seeking a personal apology, PM me.

Enough of this crap, no wonder old members are leaving this site because every morning they have to wake up and read this bickering.
Wally, BH how do you know what Hempy has grown over the years, do you think it might be possible that he got hold of seeds that were stable ???
Shanti also said that there were pockets that had ancient strains, like I said about the valleys in N Thailand.......What Hempy is talking about is what he has grown and noticed, is that a reason to attack him......Trouble is these days nobody can put up anything on their personal experiance with out someone telling them it cant be done or its not in the book.
I shake my head in shame as I am sure Shanti does as well at the thought that we all grow the same plant for the same reason yet we still want to degrade each other........I am not suprised Nevil has gone and I would to if I it was me that all the crap was about, just be glad that his ambition for the grail has not diminished.
Also if you want to pat someone on the back for doing something great in the Cannabis world then go back to the times when the plant was discovered, because this is the foundation on which every strain has come from. All ANYBODY has done is improve on that !!

DICK HEAD

fuck you brithish_hempire...

I sorry If I've caused you any offence Kanga, I'm trying to make 2011 a year of concilliation and togetherness where we sort out old grudges so we can work together in the future.

All I was saying about that landrace debate with hempy was that landraces by their proper definition will always have variation as an adaptation mechanism. Hempy has obviously grown lines that didn't have variation, so there should open a nice debate about ebstablishing a common terminology for describing true wild unworked and highly variable landraces and the worked less varied derivatives of them. However, hempy started being rude. Wally bit back and the debate wasn't as nice as it could have been.

Rather than hold grudges over this less than nice debate we should learn from it and try not to fall into the same trap of being rude to each other next time a debate crops up.

I just everyone would try to admit when they might be wrong and not be rude when people point out they might be flawed in their opinions, that way the debates can flow better and we can all learn more.

Now I don't know whether you would call this a landrace or an heirloom or what but it's a highly worked bottlenecked and therefore not very variable line originating in Colombia and is looking and smelling rather nice after 78 days in 12/12 lighting, very sticky to the touch, I made a nice ball of finger hash after picking a couple of hundred seeds off her yesterday. I had some feeding issues that caused her to fry and lose some buds, and she was intended to be a seeded plant anyways so it's not a good example of hos this strain can be when grown right but as you can see, it's not lacking resin for a pure sat and she will smoke nice after a good cure despit the feeding issues and seeding.

Feel free to insult me for burning this plant! lol I don't give a shit, I've got a few hundred seeds here that makes it all worthwhile and I'm buying a big book of stamps and some padded envelopes tomorrow. That's what's important, all the bickering and rudeness is just pointless and distracts from what really matters - this beloved herb and how to grow it better and find better types of it to grow.

Hi All

well it seems there are people with strong views at both icmag and here, some dislike Nev and myself others think we did a good job...that is the nature of the world. No one will please all people all the time. Experiences are important and to the Englishrick and Tom Hills, I expect they side on one side of a camp for their reasons....but they are justified from where they sit I expect?

Like agriculture science it may be valid to analysis all points from cannabioids to terpenes and resin etc...but the basic fact of all modern day strains lie in selection by individuals, based on the traits they preferred to select for. Sure you can do all the tests you like to prove your points but you can not go back 100 years to seed stocks to change how the selection guided the way we took to get to today.

I am not against femminized seed and always stated there are applications for it, but I do not think most people who do only femminized seeds lines can be called a breeder since you do need experience with male plants to fully understand things. In todays quick society people do not have the time to test all progeny of their works and considering it takes at least 3-6 months for them to be found to be false or correct...well you see where it goes no?

I see all of you have your view...fine by me. But if you do not agree or even follow others then why get abusive when it is merely opinions?
I like to thank people for all they do on the forum to make it interesting and begin to understand that there are distinctly different people involved in this industry. That is good to me. Just imagine the flack a guy like Charles darwin had to go through in his day to achieve debate....we are lucky people in comparison.Do not waste the opportunity to adventure and no road is the wrong road, since no one knows where we are going anyway! You choose the way that fits your understanding and philosophes...be honest and the rest will come. All the best sb

A Teachable Moment...

I wear this same style mask< for the Record.
Breeders have taken soooo dag-gone long to touch base with open forums that we think the worst of them from about 1-2 or more years!!!

My prenatal relationship with DJ Short surly earned me an Extra-large Mask....btw...I said stuff about his character, actions and long term behaviors..etc.

.....I learned these opinions I harbored toward DJ were not true.....just a couple yrs later....
(okay,...4 yrs)
I'll take a Black Mask for every year of my Life, now that I think about this:(

LOL

You guys crack Me up.

You hear the one anout the Elephant Proctologist? He had really big fingers!

We Got Sativas! Dont You just love looking at them?

Very nice indeed, what is that one?

I heard the one about the elephant keeper at a German Zoo. One of his poor elephants was constipated, had been for ages so the keeper got worried and fed the distressed animal several bushels of figs, prunes, hay, whatever he could think of to help it relieve itself. Nothing worked so he decided to give the poor creature an enema. He was just about to begin the procedure when the poor elephant finally unleashed the pent up pile of crap it had been burdened with and the unfortunate keeper was found dead by his colleagues buried beneath a huge pile of elephant poo.

I bet Nevil felt like that poor keeper after he first came online! lol

I know englishrick, he's not a bad bloke but he worships Sam the Skunkman, his dream is to go meet him in Holland. I guess being followers of false prophets can give you skewed views on things.

Ran Upstairs and checked

That one is a Maui Wowi.

I went to ICMag and looked for an old post from EnglishRick. It was in Tom Hills section, and Rick said something about what He wanted the Haze to do to him. It was something about a Polish weightlifter. I didnt say anything but a few guys got on and said "Rick, that sounds Gay as hell". He was probably just stoned, and talking stupid. It just sounded weird to the rest of Us. We are friends. I dont hold back on friends. You want to say stupid stuff, well there You go.

Very nice, have you crossed that one to anything?

Rick's got a girlfriend but he does say some wierd things! lol

Sorry to All Cannabis Devotees, but...

"You're OnLY really on-line,...to the Extent that the group can bleed the same red, and move as one Swarm or, Organism."

It's always darkest just moments before sunrise, and a 26k year cycle when the very galactic center axis can be seen in the horizon and rising.

Rather seems like Shanti is suggesting that there are no definitive answers, and sweeping generalizations simply aren't applicable:)

Thanks Bushweed, I agree, and I've given it a lot of thought, and have come to the conclusion that, regarding the heterogeniety of landraces, as I have stated before, it's relative.

Allow me, for the sake of argument to give an example: Now let us say there was a man who was in fact 6'3”. Now, is this man short, or is he tall? The question is relative. Most people might look at him and say he is tall, because the average man is between 5'9” and 6'. However, if we had a man who was 7' tall he may consider the man to be short.

I think this is in part, where much of the confusion arises from. The Landraces I have worked with are true landraces, not “reworked landraces” . I have considered them to be homogenous because I am comparing them to the strains I normally work with which are supra-polyhybrids, or extreme outcrosses. Compared to these strains, the landraces I have worked with are indeed homogeneous.

However, Donald and BH, it would appear, are working Mostly with IBLs, so they might look at the exact same landrace stock and consider it to be Heterogeneous. Comparing them to IBLs, they would also be correct.

Add to this the valid points Shanti and BFSkinner made, regarding true breeding landraces, about the extreme variation as to what exactly constitutes a landrace, and between landraces, and it is easy to see how all the confusion arises.

Wow, That is awesome, thanks for staying on subject Dr..

I am really stoked about your NHXHeadband and NHXGolden Tiger, and this new on NHXOaxacan/Durban sounds awesome.

What is the story behind Golden Tiger? I know it has Malawi in it, and that is why I am so curious. How does it smoke, etc?

Also, what did you cross that Maui Wowi with? What is the story behind that strain, I know I used to get some Maui when I was a kid, and to date it remains some of the most hallucinegenic, awesome cartoon weed I've ever smoked.

Thanks again,

I'd bet even those that dislike you guys for some reason know you did a good job.

Of course they do, all their genes are ripped from Nev's work and that's a large part of why they give him some grief - steal his work, rename it then trash the originator. It's a sleazy seedy biz.

That (Oaxacan x Durban) x Oaxacan sounds very interesting, two of my fave types crossed. Also, I like the way you have both male and female Oaxacan in the line so, that's what I'm planning to do with the Colombian I have, I've already made f1s using a Colombian male and some females. I aim to find the best one and cross a male to a Colombiuan female, for example Colombian Gold x (Mazar x Colombian Gold).
