Thanks.. honestly didn't read the article, I posted it in case someone was curious. Thanks for pointing it out that these were different peeps then the Santa Cruz guys.

When you look at the 1st Sacred Seeds catalog you can see there is Haze #1, Haze 2, Haze 3, Haze 4.. would be interesting to know which Haze expressed what type of growth and high type.

BTW.. Sam claims to have named Burning Bush from another sites thread. He said it was Haze x some type of Thai. I was told it was Haze x Vietnamese.. but who knows I wasn't there...lol

Hi LBH
to get back to your question.
great too hear someone seying autoflower can be good for some things
on the R X R you mean i think R X H

When I first started using Ruderalis, I was trying to eradicate everything from the wild plant except the early flowering gene. NL1 was the opposite of Ruderalis, so I crossed it with that and then put the earliest son back to the mother. The earliest son from that was put to a Haze and I grew the offspring outdoors in Holland. I started flowering early, but didn't finish in the short Dutch Autumn. Still, I had some outdoor Haze bud in Holland.
I also crossed the R.1x1 to NL5 about 8 times, always using males that flowered at the 4th internode. It peaked after 5 back-crosses and didn't get better after that.
I never did NL5r X NL5r like I was planning to, ended up in jail instead.
It's up to you now mate, there is a good selection of Haze type available to cross it to.

burning bush quote from sams in response to raco

FYI,
Burning Bush was an Original Haze with a strong Thai influence. I named it.
There were only Two Haze Brothers and they did not go to NYC and visit HT.
Joe Haze is not a Haze brother. The Haze Brothers did not grow Indica's, they grew Sativa's.
They did grow my Skunk #1 after 1980, because it was easier and faster for them.

wow, this is all way way over my head, These haze bros chaps, they seem to be fairly important to the discussion so could any one help fill in the blanks for me, like where did they get there haze, did they breed with it, gift to people, where they actually bros, are they still alive/free. What about south american sats, i spent some time in that part of the world, saved a few seeds of the best stuff i smoked, from basically every where i went. Unfortunately i have no idea whats from where as crossing borders with neatly documented seed pacs did not seem the right move. Any ways, south american borders aside, this is all very exciting stuff. I have one other question, if basically all the great haze came from places like thailand, places where there where small commercial ops where quality counted, and the best stuff sold, and every thing else went to shit, thus the best being continued. giving breeders a phenomenal picking ground. there must be a place like this that other than than the obvious ones where pure seeds still lurk and where cartels did not introduce seed stock? surely? i mean the world is a small place but you certainly wouldn't want to paint it. theres got to still be forgotten hot spots out there? or even farmers in thailand that kept the pure seeds going?

Hey Nev, You have ah sec

hola amigo!

Good luck on Grail, I know you'll come up with something to possess the name.

I wish I could've experienced everything you all are talking about. I feel like I was born in the wrong time:) When I 1st started gettin in the dirt, my head was spinning in a million directions, who did what, who's lying, what was re-named, where does it come from.. yadayadayada blahblahblah... blah! I'm screwed! Didn't know where to start..
I can't have those treasures of yesterday & if I did, I wouldn't believe but proly 3 people that it was what they say it was.
So I found salvation in Land Races;) Ah new hope to find tomorrows treasure, & not get caught up in the flavor of the month. Seems like you could sell anything if you just smack a catchy name on it... "Strawberry Pu$$y"

I wondered about recreating a Haze... Did not have to be the best in the world especially since I'll proly never experience it. But to start from scratch & see what I can do. Not to insult those who've done superior work in the past by thinking I could do the same or better... But I'm gonna try.. why wouldn't I, & why wouldn't I want to call it my own, right.

I was wondering what your thoughts on using LR like the Black, maybe not the most potent but certainly a contender to catalyst the haze, no...
I've talked to SB about this 1 or 2x & think Africa, (Lao,Camb,Burm), Brazil are proly my best bet but, that's just a guess. No where near a hay stack to search for a needle.

Dude, sorry, Once last thing...
Tell me about Khyber.... Peace bro

So you want to be a breeder. Easy enough, start with what you like the most and try and make it more suited to your taste. When I started out there was nothing to choose from, I had to pull it all to me. These days you have a smorgasbord to choose from.
Don't get too hung up on names, stoned people make them up all the time, the less creative steal them. If you buy seeds from a breeder, pick one with a track record. If you like certain landraces, go there. One plant can change the world. You might find it. Look for grower/breeders of the types you like. Find me the Grail Mother and I'll make you famous. Go forth young man!

Breeder : DJ Shorts
Flowering Time : 7 - 9 weeks

F-13 a Holy Grail plant of four-star excellence. Previously unreleased, a very desirable product and potential breeder. A more sativa hybrid of medium height with long, spear-shaped, dense and resinous buds and an earlier finish-time than most sativa. The superfluous quality of the finished product is remarkable: A clear, clean, crisp head of the kindest order. This girl really rings the bell every time! Not for the couch-lock crowd, this heady sativa is for those who truly enjoy its stimulating yet comfortable appeal. A real day-brightener. DJ's personal favorite from this batch.

What about DJS F-13?

I have not smoked her yet, but she gets rave reviews.

DJShort said this about her:

F13
600 plants grown outdoor in Canada
sexed - males removed
12 individuals selected (without sampling*)
4 individuals selected as P1 mothers:
True Blueberry, F13, OTMS, and one other (I missed the 4th P1 selected. Sorry.)
"I took one bong hit of that (F13), and within 5 to 10 seconds it hit me."
"It's a real bell ringer."

She descends from the Blueberry lines.

G'day Nev,
So what is it you are actually looking for... a certain taste/smell or stoned.??
I have some very old strains that will blow your head & heart out, but are not the tastiest plants... I have others that have a pleasent enough high & have a nice smell & taste superb.
I also have a few old Thai strains & old what I call Aussie hazes that I keep growing because I feel that there is nothing around today that come close to these old gems.

Good Luck In your search.

Heres a Few Pic's of a few Old Thai strains
