Let me tell you what Sam told me about the origin of SK1.

Some boys were growing some Afghani, Mexican and I'm not sure whether he said Thai or Columbian or both, in a remote area. He came back after some years and there it was, a fully stabilised hybrid. It just developed all by itself.

Honest to God, it's what he told me!
N.

atleast he admitted to you it wasn't his creation

as he's told us all it was his work ,not giving credit to mendacino joe who is reported to hav done the majority of the work ,also he doesnt admit his status as a junior member which is the only reason aside from the bust, i believe he had the opportunity to work the stock he has ,it seems the stock he was gifted he forgot how he obtained and decided to claim as his work

but i believe his story about skunk as much as i believe his story of OHAZE

lastly the original skunk reportedly had nothing to do wit thai it was a acapulco gold /afghan/colombian gold

Sam BS

Looks like another BULLSHIT mystical story of strain lineage. The plants were SOOO important to mankind that the hand of God had to come down and stabilize the patch himself. Damn that explains why it was Sams best work, he had nothing to do with it. :)_~

Did Mendo Joe become Romulan Joe later in his life? If its the same guy, he did a terifiic job on the Romulan also IMO. That is an awesome WRhino hybrid IMO. :)_~

" The Oaxacan, in my memory, was much more complex. It was fruity, but had tang, with a full bodied sweetness, more fruit salad than just fruit.. The smell had the promise of leading to something delicious and it did. It was strong, yet it had balance. If the Nepalese was playing high C, the Oaxacan was playing a chord with resonance. It was a comfortable feeling, high yet grounded, profound and content. I am reminded more of a beach party, a celebration of life, (Shakira shaking her arse comes to mind). "

Sounds like my girl. although I would say its a bit more like JLO shaking that booty:D

Taken from the Sierra Madre de Oaxaca in the remote region of the Rincon de Ixtlan from a selection of around 500 plants in 1986.
This plant has become one of my main breeding studs.
Maybe this is the stud or female you are looking for Nevil.

1st HT CC 1988

Surely High Times documented all this stuff. I remember getting everyone wasted by throwing a bucket of ground bud over the glowing coals in the fire place and then getting them to inhale the smoke. It gave new meaning to the bucket method.

I want to believe Kanga.

I am impressed that you grow plants in such a way as to allow them to realise their full genetic potential outdoors. You are living my dream!

Sam won with his Skunk in 1988, but it was close. He entered again in '89, but that was the year I won everything right across the board. I think that they mistakenly gave one of the prises to someone else, but I didn't protest. I had won enough. Sam never entered again. You'd be inclined to think that he's holding a grudge.

Beautiful Kangativa! I just hope the Oaxacans of yesteryear are still being grown in the highlands. Did you do the collections/photos? Either way your plants are beautiful man.

Hi all,
Some early photographs I have in the archives I thought to share, some mention the Haze brothers and Thai varieties circa the '70s.

Thanks for sharing guys
I couldn`t help comparing those Sativas with some of the local 'bush weed" I have had the pleasure of smoking.I have had a steady supply for about 20 years ,although it has changed with a handing down of the op to the younger generation and is apparently not available this year.
In previous seasons before helicopter patrols the plants were grown more in the open ,now in heavy scrub.
I would like to ask folks if there is any truth to R Connel Clarkes views on acclimatetisation eg Equatorial varieties loosing potency when grown at higher lower Lat .
THC V is it still produced if plant is recolonised?
Australia has very high uv does this make a diff?
Do Indica varieties produce THC V

Thanx mate.....Yes I did the collection and pics, except the pic of the area.

most believable option

Sam probably was one of the "boys" who planted or helped and later rediscovered it. Cannabis Sativa goes feral easily too. divine stabilized drug Cannabis:D

i would believe the "less flattering" story of accomplishment also when it comes from Sam.
