G13

Hey guys :)
Thanks for swinging in, your kind words are heart felt and I appreciate you taking the time to read my threads. This one is a little rawl in the beginning for my liking, but its several years old now and I still feel it to be the best collection of information surrounding the legendary variety available today on the internet or anywhere else for that matter.

The subject of G13 is one I have been quite interested in for a number of years now, it goes back far before this thread or even this forum existed in fact. Ive been banned from websites in the past for posting facts about this variety, you could say the story and legend itself have fascinated me a great deal.

I believe MNS to be the best place available anywhere in this world to acquire a plant that can without question be traced back to the original clone. There are others who are working with one of the many G13 hybrids, who can legitimately lay claim to having a related variety as well, but knowing the relationship and circumstances of the MNS G13 lines with Nevil, I am personally satisfied with my quest to find the best thing available in terms of G13 today. And I do not say that with a quick gloss over of the facts, this is literally a subject Ive put years into attempting to understand.

In my possession, and a select few others, are original G13 x Skunk beta test seed which were worked by Shantibaba and sent to a few of us here at the forum many years ago now. Ultimately this line to me is the holy grail when it comes to G13, and Ive been told by those who I trust its among the most worked lines in the MNS line up. From seeing the effects of my beta test seed, I can attest that everything you've heard about G13 is based on legitimate observation. Todays commercially available seed version differs from the beta in that the original Skunk was crossed back to Shanti's efforts to this line. He selected plants based off G13 dominance, and knowing what we know about Shanti, I can think of few others out there I would want working this fascination of mine than the man himself.

There are a number of plants presented as G13 out there in the world, some of them likely legitimately related and others just amazing plants with a label attached to them to move it even faster. Great weed is easy to find here in the states, but telling someone you've just got some kind bud will never get their attention the same way telling them you have some G13 will. Ultimately, for those who are interested in obtaining the legitimate G13 hybrids, I recommend researching and understanding the subject from as many angles as possible if you wish to know for absolutely certain what you have is the real deal. In the past I have had the oppurtunity to acquire a number of different G13 varieties, some of them the famous cuts we've all heard of for years, but Ive only been interested in the real deals. Not mystery plants which just have a name attached. The idea of knowing for certain what I am working with has always been the cornerstone of my growing programs, likely something born out of the great deal of mystery involved in the marijuana industry in general. Its not a coincidence I find myself a regular contributor here at the forum, and have for nearly a decade now. MNS has the real deals, others surely have great gear as well, but I am pretty comfortable right here at home. :)

Hi all,
Just finishing up a round of cuttings from my mother and father plants of the beta G13 skunk, and noticed something interesting. There were tiny little insects crawling in my rockwool, which is not long out from the manufacturer. They were just large enough to discern as something out of the ordinary on the cubes, but small enough as to not determine what they are exactly with the naked eye.

In either case, it may be time to invest in some neem oil as a result of this discovery. A quick google search yields a few possibilities, in either case, not a good thing.

It is a pleasure to work with this line, even after over a year of keeping the parental plants alive. The MNS G13 x Sk is a very special line, one in which I would recommend everyone acquire and work with at some point in their growing careers/hobbies.

If those insects are mites jessE? - you should try get ya hands on some =
AVID - a powerfull chemical that really does kill off mites&eggs for quite sometime, longer than neem oil id say, 1mil per litre of water and it doesnt effect the plants in any way or form, where i live we need a license to buy it, a farmer could get one of these i guess,
dunno what else would survive in rock wool purchased like this, im guessing eggs couldeve got in them before you bought it,? time will tell aye!!

Bamb,
As always, nice to see you friend. I am definitely none to pleased to have discovered this problem, though I am unsure of the severity as of yet? One would think hydro equipment would be sterile and free of these issues, but obviously not. It is not a good way to start off any program with an infestation, of any magnitude.

Thanks for the advice, I am going to go google things now and take a look.

This may have been discussed... what's in barney's g13haze (g13 side)? Anyone still have a legit g13xhaze in seed form?

Barney's originally bought in some crosses using the G13Haze male made by a Dutch breeder using some of the old Haze cuttings like the A5, C5, HPHAze, Mexican Haze. He felt out with Barney's so god knows what they sell in those packs these days.

Same guy also bred the Haze hybrids Dampkring sell, so you can get them from there.

Soma still sells Amnesia Haze which was originally SSH x G13Haze (probably) but might hav changed as I heard Soma lost the original mother.

Lots of people have released seeds made with the G13Haze male but as no-one has a G13Haze female then there is no pure G13Haze left.

Nevil chose to work with NL5Haze instead and Shanti has been working with other Afghan/Skunk/Haze hybrids recently.

So the closest you can get is a cross using the G13Haze male, plenty out there to chose from.

I think your money would be best spent on other Haze hybrids though...

ah so are they working w/a g13haze x haze? ie. the tangerine dream was a g13haze x a5, bx'd to g13haze?

G13 Haze

Cannabis Cup 2006 & 2007
We take the G13 legend to an even higher level by crossing it with our favorite Hawaiian Sativa. The resulting plant yields an extraordinary density of flower structure with heavy resin production. G13 Haze grows medium short and compact for a Sativa-dominant strain, and is ideal for SOG and ScrOG gardens. Not only does G13 Haze offer good, healthy yields and a high THC level, the smoke is worth savoring, as well. The intense aromas and flavors of fruit and spice lead to powerful, cerebral effects.

Barney's - Seeds

The legendary G-13 crossed with a Hawaiian Sativa doesn't mess about. A brief look into our history will explain why......G-13 was allegedly created by the Russians who focused on hybridizing different strains of cannabis in the 1970s. Supposedly, these organizations bred a strain of cannabis through hybridization that was more potent than any other. According to popular subculture was then liberated from a government lab in mississippi during the 1970's in order for breeders to clone and pass onwards. The G13 legend lives on with this remarkable G13 cross developed from the world famous G13 and our favourite Hawaiian Sativa. It stays short for a mostly sativa plant and has extraordinary density of flower structure with heavy resin production. Ideal for SOG & ScrOG gardens. The effect is celebral yet powerful with a taste of fruit & spice. Most maintain being physical due to its Sativa dominancy and also expeirience awe inspiring spychadelic highs from its Haze genetics. A high THC content of 21% and optimum growing conditions should be indoor.....flowering around the 70-80 day mark, yielding a good 500grm/m2. These cannabis seeds are world class.

SeedFinder Labs presents: A Hybrid-Map for the Cannabis-Strain G13 Haze (by Barneys Farm)

For a long time, Soma was the only person on the market actively selling a G13 x Haze variety. Though be it hybrids, as the story goes Soma acquired the G13 x haze from Ed Rosenthal. Who is alleged to have acquired them from Nevil. What Soma had was never a G13 dominant line, but rather Haze dominant. So his marketing strategy to me always was more of a ploy off of the name G13, rather than an attempt to give the consumers a closely related G13 product. As he was hybridizing lines off of the G13 x Haze. So (G13 x haze) x (Soma line).

For those with hopes of growing G13, your best today while avoiding as many question marks as possible, is here at MNS. There is a known chain of custody to the G13 hybrids here at MNS, from a breeder who has accomplished essentially all one can in this industry today.

I know Shanti to be an honest man, he has been very good to me, and many of us here at the forum. He stands behind his products, and has by no means demonstrated himself to be untrustworthy, selfish a bullshitter or anything else for that matter. We're talking about someone who has bred some of the most famous strains in the world today, and who has given up significant portions of his life in pursuit of his passion. Truly a respectable person.

So in my humble opinion, with a decade of experience on these boards and as someone who has put significant amounts of time into this particular subject, you're going to want to grow MNS G13 hybrids if you want as sound of mind as possible as to the origins of your G13. Ive said it before, others have legitimate lines based off G13. Some of them, I am sure, very good. But my personal recommendation, based off all available information, is that the consumer look no further than right here for their G13 needs.

These aren't mine btw. If you want 'em larger lmk.

I asked him what smells he's getting:

"they seem to change every couple days.
So far its major smell is kinda earthy. But at times i have smelled a tootsie roll like smell, a fuel smell and recently a little berry like smell. If i rub the stem it smells like poop. I hope it blends together soon and i can give a more definate answer.
