G13 Haze - 2024 Outdoor Canadian Grown

@Freedom_Fighter, keep an eye on the twine. Because it is so thin and strong if the plant grows at all or there is a strong wind the twine has been been known to cut into the stalk. I like that green coated wire, it works awesome on plants.

How about this one, @longball? Heavy duty with lots of rubber padding. Helps me sleep a bit better at night, now! πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸ»

The bottom branch in the above photo, along with all other bottom branches on No.4, were pollinated.

This last shot is a typical No.4 bud. It is at least a full 2 weeks behind No.3 & No.5, imo.

Yes, best stuff in the world for plants lol I make a very loose loop around the plant, very loose. It's wire so it won't go anywhere and the foam won't bite into the plant. Very easy to adjust. At the end of the year I remove them, straighten them out, use again next year. I haven't touched this original roll in 2-3 years. Been using the same pieces for years now. Have many assorted sizes now, keep in a box. Rope, bungee cords, etc wear out in a season, this keeps going and going.

One of my recent updates was mis-dated as 10/15/24; when in reality it was only the 14th. These photos of No.3 were taken today, 2 days after, late afternoon on the eve of the full moon. No.4 is visible in the background of the first few photos, providing a decent contrast to No.3.

According to the article I sent, the week before the New Moon is the best time to harvest for potency. October 25th - 31st.

Greetings to All the MNS Aficionados tracking this grow! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸ»

Having given this matter some extended thought, as required, and some close examination of the triches, under my scope, it seems appropriate to harvest No.3 on October 25th.

One of her lower branches was pollinated, a little late in hindsight because I didn't anticipate harvesting her that early. I expected her to go at least until the end of the first week of November; but I don't see that in her triches, unfortunately. It's highly unlikely her seeds will be ready by 10/25, but at least I have a copy of her and can try again, next time.

No.5 will be harvested on 10/31, due solely to her seeds. Otherwise, I'd take her in on the 25th as well. Most likely two others will be harvested on 11/8, one week prior to the November full moon; and the final one on 11/23, weather permitting. I'll make that call on the 8th.

Looks like some good smoke @Freedom_Fighter you can leave the seeded branch on the plant and let mature and harvest the rest, would be a shame to waste all your hard work πŸ˜‰

Great looking strain for sure!

mu

Indeed, mu! Great genetics with huge breeding potential, in my amateur opinion. In my dreams I would love to cross the male version of Female #4, to this No.3 pheno.

That track has huge potential, imo, for the hobby breeder. Certainly worth a 50 seed sift, imo, for that special male to mate with her.

The dream lives within me, that's for sure; but I also dream about growing Nevil's Haze, NL5 Haze & SSH, so let's see where it leads. I would love to do a 50 seed sift of NH for that special male to mate with this No.3 G13 Haze pheno

Many thanks to Shantibaba for keeping these fine heirloom genetics alive. I dream of growing many more of them. Every cultivator should cultivate a dream of "must grow" strains.

Congratualations Freedom_Fighter, that is an excellent looking plant!

I've done many similar outdoor grows like yours before in probably better conditions and I know the struggles and challenges very well.
When I first saw your post I knew that it would be a great challenge for you to bring this variety home but you have proven that with excellent care and a supreme medium it is possible.
Plant's health is key to fight off pathogens, you showed this perfectly here.

Good luck with the rest and how did your #3 smelled?

Hey Swifty, many thanks for your kind words, brother. I really appreciate that! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸ»

I was surprised by the colour change in No.3 & No.5. Definitely was not expecting that. No such change has occurred in the others, despite our recent string of cold nights, over the past week. On a few nights it dropped down to 3Β°C (37.4Β°F).

The temperature outside, here, currently sits at 18Β°C (64.4Β°F) and will reach a low of 6Β°C tonight (42.8Β°F); but tomorrow it will reach 21Β°C (69.8Β°F) and then drop to 11Β°C (51.8Β°F). On Monday it'll reach 23Β°C (73.4Β°F) and 10Β°C (50Β°F) at night. On Tuesday it will reach 22Β°C (71.6Β°F) and then drop to just 13Β°C (55.4Β°F) at night. After that, it cools down again for the remainder of the week.

The No.3 girl seems to get more purple with each passing day. The No.5 as well, but not as deep as No.3. The terp profile of them both is the same to me, but it defies my ability to describe it, at the moment.

Good luck with the rest and how did your #3 smelled?

Their smell isn't that strong at the moment, which is odd to me. None of the 5 have a strong odor to them, for that matter, which is a little odd to me; but to be expected, I suppose, from an IBL. The F1 generation will smell much stronger than the IBL; but based on the way they smelled just last month, I would not have expected the odor to be as toned down as it currently seems to be.

Maybe that could have something to do with the recent cool temps here. The microbes (beneficial bacteria) will go dormant, below a certain temp, which could potentially impact terp expression. Maybe this Monday, when it reaches 23Β°C again, the revived microbial activity may cause them to smell more.

In the meantime, I'll keep trying to dial it in better, in terms my ability to describe the profile better. There is definitely 2 different terp profiles, that's for sure; currently mild, or subtle in expression. Definitely not a "heat score".

Cheers! - FF

Warm greetings to All MNS Aficionados!

Today it reached a high of 20Β°C and will drop to a low of 12Β°C tonight. Finally figured out how to take triche photos with my new budget scope. I had to link it to my laptop and use the Windows Camera.

I've been using a Windows System for 30 years and today was the very first time I ever opened and used the Windows Camera. Go figure. One more embarrassing true life confession. πŸ€ͺ That's just between us, though! 30 years! That's damn embarrassing, however one looks at it. Wouldn't want that out there, getting around to too many growers! 🀫 πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸ»

Anyway, growmies, the shots below were taken from 2 of these 3 tiny buds, taken from a bottom branch on No.3. The partially dried third bud was scoped a few days back, and all 3 tell the same story, imo, that she's ripe for the picking:

20241020_163142.jpg

They aren't the greatest shots, but certainly a good start for this new budget scope. Now that I've practiced on a few small samples, I can take a larger one from higher up.

In terms of a cultivation "plan" for the coming year, if my life situation and circumstances permit it, I will attempt to germinate 25 year old Original Killer Queen seeds, from Vic High, which I scored on cBay, back in 2002.

They were kept in a vacuum sealed package, in a fridge for 10 years, then transferred to a deep freezer. I've been holding on to them until I got into tissue culture but that time has managed to evade me. If any of it germinates, I will make seed from it, of course, and select a male to cross with with No.3 & No.5.

If I manage to pull that off, I will grow that cross outside, next summer: G13 Haze Γ— Killer Queen.

Cheers! - FF

That sounds like an epic cross Freedom_Fighter.
I grew Motarebels Killer Queen F2's a long time ago, a nice strain!

Thanks, Swifty! The vision of the potential cross between G13 Haze & Original KQ really appeals to my creative mind. Hopefully it works out. If it doesn't, we'll, I'm considering the Purple Satellite, by Green Mountain, as a potential Plan B. I have 30 reg seeds of that in my "treasure" vault.
