Hey Chana,
I have to say I am surprised that you didn;t find a plant with a soaring sativa High, it sounds like the new NL5xHZ has a much stronger NL5 influence...I have not had a chance to try the new version...About 13 years ago I got a cut of Sensi's NL5xHz and without knowing what I had I grew all three outside and never got a cut...they were the best OD plants I have ever grown!!!

I also have Nevil's haze seeds but you got me really thinking about the G13xHz.

Thanks for the quick response...Respect to you!

Cheers,
Sensi13

Respect to you Sensi13 for bumping the thread... well I found the sativa high with stone but to me the herb was not worth the 90 days bloom... realize, I was also growing out the Nevils so when I did get a chance to smoke NL5Hz, the soaring high couldn't compare to that of the NH. I also didnt get any special flavour in the NL5Hz. I found it pale in comparison to the NH. So if I were to grow a plant for 90 days plus, it wouldn't be the NL5Hz I pulled, it would be Nevils, or some other haze or landrace sat.

Do you recall what your NL5Hz tasted like? I know it was some time ago...

G13Hz was great. Nutty flavour, with earthy body. The high/stone is what I enjoyed. Unlike Nevil, which had no stone.... just the ceiling that kept rising... I personally like to feel high and stoned...

Hi Chana and Sensi13,

I would like to know what your sensi NL5hz was like too.

My old cut was very sativa in appearance, it had a 105 day budding cycle. It was dark, dark green. Long solid colas and very Dense buds.

It had an astringent smell, and a delicate musky smell with hints of sandalwood, kind of like an expensive french perfume, or a fine cognac. Not fruity or skunky. It actually gave you a headrush, when you smelled it. The high was like nothing else. It simply blew you away, high, stoned, who knows? It would make you hallucinate... forget about sleep for at least 6 hours.

Not sweet at all and did not stink. In other words you could carry a bag around in your pocket and everybody wouldn't know.

I am curious Chana, how does your nl5hz compare with the SSHs you have tried? What about their flavor and effect? Were they fruity and lemony, like Gratephul described? Were they sweet at all? How does it smoke, effect, etc?

Bump

Sensi,

I was reading this, and I think it was well worth a bump to get an answer to your question. I would like to know as well. Best to you friend...Ns

Hey Chana and Josh,
Man that was a long time ago but I remember some distinct characteristics about this plant for sure. I only grew it outdoor one time so I don't know how long it would have flowered indoors...outdoor it was harvested in early Novemeber in the midwest USA...The plants were huge even though we had them insome pretty thick brush..at harvest they were about 7 ft bushes because they were bushed out as clones indoors before being planted outside.

The yeild was really good, the colas were the biggest I have ever seen...even though I only visited one time after planting to feed just as they started flowering they performed like they were tended to regularly...it was my best OD single site ever!

Now, the smoke is still one of the top three I have ever smoked and everybody that got some asked about it for a long time afterward!!! I don't remember a lot of subtleties but I do remember it as my introduction to Haze and it changed my life! It definitely had the haze incense smell/taste and there was no fruit or skunkiness in that one either...one of my biggest grow regrets is not keeping a cut of that! Truly special!!

Do any of you that have run the new NL5xHZ think it would be worth it to pop a whole pack (20)? Is there uniformity or are there several phenos when it comes to effect?

Cheers,

Sensi13

Congrats Chana & S13,
Those all look stunning! I have to agree w/Josh on Pheno I, she does look like the NL5 of old. Really shows where the Diesel gets her plumes from:D

I did not work w/NL5Hz yet but I would say YES a full pack is worth it!
I was lucky enough w/NL5Sk but had to do alot of searching. Most of them took on the dominancy of their papi's, but none of them appealed to me. Then came momma's girl & she was worth the hunt! I would imagine the keeper in NL5Hz is a 12wk'er, w/tight internodes, fruity(raw)/spicy...no? I know she's in there man, whether you popped her yet or not... She's there!
Not every lil dookie will be the shit, but your gonna feel GREAT once you squeeze her out;)

Awsome guys, just awsome. How many peeps can say their puffn some NL5Hz huh... Admire the hunt.... No fun in easy game.... Enjoy your kill & trophy it.

ok, I hear G13Sk calling my name but it was great to see you all & these @ work!

What's up Sen13

Very nice to hear your runnin the pack & your findings. I've only personally seen pink hairs in the Sk/HzC. Does she have the same color tones (green) as the others? Let us know how her aroma comes along.

Hope you have comfort in the sz of lot your running when compared to experiencing the best of variety, I find its variety amongst the best that is the path worth taken. Enjoy gettin there!

Can't wait either as you pick through these 1by1, this should make for a nice show!

Later in flowering, keep a nose out for a blk licorice aroma deep in the smell. This attribute appeared in 1 out of all my ladies & seems to be an acquired taste now:D
