2010 - G13 x Haze

I thought I remembered Early Pearl was described as an Early Girl x Polyanna hybrid. But I'm probably wrong that's a lineage that I don't feel too sure of, I followed the GratefulDead around a bit back then and made many decisions which adversely effected my memory and perhaps perception.

And I think Silver Pearl was an Nl x Sk x Ep.? As far as stacking good traits goes Nevil made it REAL easy for us back then. We would just buy anything Nevil breed and just cross it with something else he did. As long as we were
not selecting plants too soon after a Dead show we usually would do a good job. ;)

Hi Kyle,

It is kind of strange that I would like to grow or smoke an EG or EP of the 80's/90's... but in retrospect, to quote you, I should be asking to smoke the NL straight, or Pollyanna for that matter on its own. But it seems my generation missed that bus and if I am lucky I might be able to try a two way of something that has the same relevance or longevity as it had when your were rocking out to Mr. Garcia in different time continuum... perhaps that is why I am growing the NL5xHaze, if I am lucky, maybe offering me glimpse back into time.

That's pretty much how I remember it and I think that Polyanna was from Krazy Karol. Both were from Rob Clark, as was EP. The EG was from Sam. I never cared much for it, but it was early.

The NL5 Hazes 1 and 122 were the selections out of 1000s. The EP and SK1 were both very inbred lines. I'd put the latest versions together in an F1 and put that to the 5Hz. The EP.SK males didn't require much selection. They were petty uniform.
N.

So, Early Queen is EP/SK crossed to a NL5/HZ mother selected from 1000's ?

Is the current Early Queen offering created from the same mother, and or father used back then?

Maybe some fine specimens in there.

Okay last update for the night/day....

G13xHaze... really one of the best culitvars I have in my space currently and I have not even tasted her fruit, but I have smoked the G13xSkunk and the G13xWidow and can only imagine it with Haze. This is the one. I also think that this is one of those strains, that one would like perhaps 2 or 3 packs, so that you can find your special exclusive version. I feel a dub plate coming on...

I really have my current MNS offering tuned for Haze, so that being said, I forgot about the Indica dominate ones known as G13Hz, and you will see from my journal that some of my pheno's are lacking in the N department.

Live and learn right... but in this error, I believe I made an observation with regard to feeding dominance in the parent line i.e. the Haze are not N deficient and the Indica dom (G13) are.

So as I move closer to flowering out, it will be nice to see if I am actually learning something...

I hope all are well,

CM

They are looking very healthy chana. Its always nice when they start to show sex and start to flower. Are you keeping any males or just females?

Targus here and back...

Hi Doobz,

Thanks again for popping in and turning the time machine here @ MNS, finally got the feeding down... and all is in check.

I have topped these and going to top again after this post.

The plant structure is amazing so far and I am very happy I choose these beans out of the many that can be found in Shanti's fridge.

So far out of the 10 pheno's I have 8 are females. My pheno H is is a great male specimen and my pheno B is a hermaphrodite. I acted to quick and chopped the hermi down quick, but I did keep it and press it for my collection. The hermi pheno still lives and I will only be keeping it to take further plant presses.

Willing to flower these out in Janaury...

So far no complaints and brother Medicine Man is also running 5 pheno's of the same batch... so it will be interesting to see what he pulls.

I have also cloned each pheno...

All the best,

CM

Flipped to bloom on January 17, 2011. Before we get into the females... here is one of the G13hz males that I thought was female. I took her out of the bloom room and put here in natural light (winter time), to hopefully collect some pollen. This is the seed father. I was able to clone all g13hz pheno's to-date.

My camera is officially a zombie... first time in 6 years I dropped it in the reservoir... sorry for picture quality...

I hope to recreate Nevil's line with a couple of the g13hz females.

Still have 3 pheno still in veg, I am pretty sure 2 of 3 are males. These one's I believe are leaning to the g13 side.

Take care,

CM

those plants you just put into flower are huge!! but i will be the first to admit to having limited experience with hazes, never a full grow but rather a couple here and there. but typically with haze hybs are they not put into flower shortly after rooting or they will overgrow a garden?

or does the g13 keep this one short? and perhaps you have some experience with the other versions of ghaze? which would be nice cause i am wondering how the skunk in this one affects her although not a major concern cause i have read mostly stellar reports on the g13skunk. healthy looking gals you put under the lights. peace-biteme

Hi Chana Masala,

I think for the most part that is usally the rule of thumb... i.e. nev's haze and la nina, maybe even MangoHz... but I am trying to pay some bills, and have 4 friends eagerly awaiting this crop... so I am going for it...lol... in all honesty, I too am still limited with haze but I am a quick learner. Confidence was built with Shanti's Critical Haze, which to my uderstanding is 25% Haze for the most part... CH streached like nothing I ever encountered before. To say the least it humbled me and gave me further confidence to put in a letter upstairs and go furhter with the haze hybrid. This is the place to find the best right?

After my second run, I found how to work CH and it was really all genetics and very little grower interaction... select your pheno for bloom time, flavour/potency and and watch her grow my brother... very workable strain. I even topped her once right on the day of 12/12 and CH respondned even better. Great learning experinces... only thing is I lost the skunk pheno, which I beleive is what everyone was talking about regarding a high yeilding haze... this was before the NL5Hz that is ....

Well so far my friend, I think the g13 helps this haze hybrid stay moderate with regard to stretch... at least for me at 30 days bloom... I am still working the pheno's out so maybe in a few more weeks I can further confirm, the stretch has stopped, but there are a few looking like they are done stretching and just staking flowers... no other ghaze grow before this journal and seed purchase, thank god, cause I dont really think the experience would of been this exciting for me...

Thank you for taking the time to contribute your thoughts biteme...

Respect,

CM

Hi Chana,
Great pics, fine work, great to see the G13Hz in yr hands.
Search for the late flowering haze dom pheno in this hybrid.
I'm sure it is the finest pheno you can find in this strain. Great taste/smell and really fine to smoke, a true keeper in my oppinion.
Try to cross a studd male G13Hz to a couple of fem strains that you hold like the new 5HzC or a nice NevHz, Critical Hz or something else delicious in yr beautifull garden. I'm sure something very nice will emerge.
All the best and keep up this fine art.

Hi Uncle EB, how goes it my friend?

Indeed, Gratphul4thc did a bang up job on his NL5Hz. This one got my vote for bud of the month. I believe it is numberd 24, in the contest. Close race as I beleive there is 3 way tie for first right now...

Maybe you can move this great pic to the appropriate thread, as this is the G13hz thread, silly bugger!

I hope your garden is going well!

[EDIT: It would seem I am the bugger eh, you are indeed correct, just went for a troll, I mean stroll at ICMAG, usually not there but you are indeed correct, Gratphul says it is G13Hz F4 as described. Damn she is sweet. I wonder what her origin is! Sorry mate!]

Talk to you later,

CM
