The bottom line is none of us will ever know the whole truth for there will always be Nevil's side and Sam's side of the story. As for Sam trying to make himself look like a "big shot"; was it not Nevil who made himself a big shot? We can say it was High Times mag which made him look like a big shot, however, he had to give them permission to write these stories on him. Seems to me like Nevil truly enjoyed his time in the limelight.

I know I have been ripped off many times over the years for seeds, even more recently this past grow season, and some of these were strains associates and myself had been working on for years. So in all honesty I kind of feel where Sam is coming from. Although my strains never made the mainstream market, they were still used to grow very profitable crops and as trade for even more genetics.

Everyone is quick to point fingers and judge Sam, many of whom were not even growing or had any knowledge of the cannabis market and/or seed market in those days. As I have stated, I was growing some of those strains years before Nevil created the Seed Bank; they were readily available in certain West Coast grow circles in those days.

We need to look at the big picture here, 3 people know exactly what happened; add maybe 2 or 3 more which were on the outside of the original deal and know the story from one side or the other. None of us were there, many do not even remember the Seed Bank other than what we read, so who are any of us to judge Sam or Nevil.

As for this Sam's Wife thing; hey, if you are great, welcome to the forum. If you are an impostor, then I suggest some serious psychological help for you definitely seem to have issues in your life to want to impersonate another person.

When Sam posts things like he has on forums he becomes fair game. He just keeps ripping Nevil. Sometimes he opens his mouth and inserts his foot. Nevil is cool and stays out of the fray while Sam just rants on and on. I have really changed my mind over Sam through the years.

Please let us know how those seeds work out that you are trying to germinate after all those years.

This is true, however when people claim to be the true originator of something, while others set back and reap the rewards, it is kind of hard to swallow; I know for I watched this past grow season go by while another while another grew my strains and took full creit for them, as well as took in a nice harvest which was all for profit for this grower which I later found out did not even smoke. Furthermore, this person would ask me questions via IM and then post my answers on another forum when they did not even have the experience nor knowledge to address the issue, then take full credit or this. So I guess you could kind of see why I can feel for Sam on that level.

IMHO it really does not matter, and I have not read much of what Sam is saying recently, and from what I had seen on the IC thread was that he was attacked first and was defending himself. There could very well be much more to the story. I do know this, I would find it a bitter pill to swallow if some-one became a millionaire off something I was a big part of and left me out there to the dogs making claims of being a snitch or even worse.

It really does not matter now anyway, for it is in the past.

My holidays will be simple, thank you for asking.

I will be running a Thai X3 cross in the cup contest, and will be working on doing an outdoor run with a few of the old strains, mainly ones I am seriously interested in keeping for future grows and breeding. I can only hope thee limited number of seeds wil produce for me at least a few good females and a truly spectactular male for fresh seed stock. I just want to inbreed a few of these strains for fresh seed stock. So it will be a seed run this year, but all plants are beautiful to me.

Sam's Wife, sorry you were treated the way you were. I do not know if you are who you say you are but you have done nothing to warrant the attacks or disrespect that was aimed at you. The parties associated with those actions are in no way representative of the way this community generally acts towards others. It seems some of the newer members haven't quite gotten the generally accepted protocol yet.

If you are who you say you are, I hope you will not be a stranger to the canna-community. It would be pretty cool to hear stories from someone who was as close to the scene from as early on as you claim to be. If you are not who you claim to be, you have an odd way of occupying yourself.

My negetivity was directed at 2 members. One member started talking crap about religion, and the other came out of no where stating that I was trying to prove something, and that I rode in little boats.

I don't know how to respond to this other than its impossibal to contribute multiple projects if I just became a member a couple months ago. Its also easy to make claims and walk away.

I only post things that I'm personally working on. Not things with other ppl, nor do I post non-MNS strains. I don't see the point in posting pics of other plants that arent MNS, which is everything I'm working on except Shit at the moment, its about to change. MNS forums or not. I only showed another strain once to make a point of referance. I dont see the point of wasting space of posting daily shots of my Shit seedlings everyday.

Another thing is that I have nothing to prove here. So if you think those qouted links to threads are better then mine......they probaly are.

If i was aware that there was an ignore button I wouldve pressed it one sam's wife and spared my fingers from the get go. Thanks for the tip.

I'm not being negetive. Quite the contrary, I do not think that 25% of my post are what you called "hating", if I question things its because this is an industry that breeds misinformation. Sorry its reality. I would think that MNS members espeically would understand this.

Another thing I would like to point out is that there is an overall lack of picture involvement on this site. I'm willing to do what I can to change that by documenting all my MNS grows in the future so long as I'm not continually attacked and called names. There are ppl with 1,000's of posts individually but how many pics were posted this year? I can at least say that I am showing what I am actually doing. There is a huge percentage that shows nothing, and thats fine too. I'm also DOING something which alot of ppl don't do, so don't hate on me if all I can show is 2 months work in a new place thats a constant work in progress. I talk and I'll show the walk.

Internet forums are places to talk and discuss things.


Best of luck patrick and thanks for the 1853 pics you must have contributed (well you have 1,853 posts), oh and barletta too.

Happy Holidays JKP. you remind of some-one from some place; maybe HG or Cannabis Collector, both of which just disappeared never to be seen again.

I said this many times, what happened 25 yrs ago has nothing to do with today other than stir up shit. I do not even understand what jesse's point was in posting it. It is no educational, it is unfactual rumor which has been passed from forum to forum. Honestly, anyone can google up subjects and write a informative post, however how factual is it really if the info is not, and cannot be verified.

So now we move on, or so I hope, for I have the 20+ ft. monster I'm bout to try to grow in a 20 oz fuckin cup.

I would have loved for Sam Wife to post the seed catalogue collectibles. That would have been such an awsome thing to do and remember old times seed lists.

Well SW if you read these just for your knowledge there was one guy at a time who had loved to see your old seed catalogues. From Sacred Seeds, Cultivators Choice or whatever you had.

JKP, I won't be going away. I WILL be adderssing the troll problem that this site currently has. If admini/shanti won't, I will. I don't care if I keep getting PM's from admini telling me that I'm breaking the rules. Maybe admini should pay less attention to the rational people, and more to the shit starters w/o grows.
 
I never start a "Shit" without finishing it, usually 7-8 weeks.:p

All of Sam's catalogs were handwritten, anyway all the ones I seen out in Ca. were. Some varied in color and the earlier ones did not have some of the strains listed in the '85 one which is posted.

I do know this, the first Skunk('79-'80ish) I got was out of SFV which was great, but lacked the distinct flavor of the Skunks which came later, say '83-'87ish. It also took slightly longer to flower than the later ones. however it had that distinct skunky Columbian smell. Anyone that ever traveled to the Santa Marta region of Columbia know that smell. I think the Afghani added made it even more pronouced, for the Afghani I got from the Northwest said to have come from Canada, was a stinker, and not a pleasant stinker either.

Many of the old catalogs I had were lost when I was busted by the Feds in '87. People kind of helped themselves to my collections of HT mags, my grow and breeding journals, clothing, all my dead stuff; including my autographed N2O tank, and my blotter collection(a full pic of every print from '77 to late '86).

Patrick is not going anywhere, he is a starfish for christ sakes. We all know what would happen happen if he left Bikini Bottom.:D

Anyway, I hope everyone has a Happy Holiday season. I have some Thai X3 seeds to deal with. I wonder how well these 15 ft + monster will fair in a 20 oz container? Maybe 12/12 from sprout?

Can we please just chill and enjoy this forum for what it was intended for; growing, breeding, the sharing of such knowledge. I do enjoy some of my old genetics, and talking of them, but trust me, things have evolved so much and I feel in time once we get past all these auto-flowering & feminised crazes we will see new and even more advanced strains appear.

from the quality of the last few posts, i'm hoping we might be almost over this recent 'bump in the road.' i've said as much to sativalvr & others, but i regret my part in getting everybody so stirred up.

i'm not a christian, but in the prevailing spirit of the season i'd like to offer my apologies to members skunkha and gertbflow for singling them out. my points could have just as easily been made without finger-pointing. i still don't agree with the beliefs you've both presented in this thread, nor in the negative manner you went about presenting them at the expense of Sam's Wife, but lets let bygones be bygones.

gertbflow, i don't appreciate the multiple personal insults nor the implication that i concocted a Sam's Wife alias to reinforce my points. but i'm willing to set all of that aside, and am hoping that my extension of multiple olive branches here will reinforce that i'm here to put community first, and personal politics dead-last. i hope you'll choose to do the same.

to the rest of the Mr. Nice community, i hope that you'll continue to welcome my presence in this forum & overlook some rash words. call me a hopeless optimist, but i'm guessing that this recent negativity might eventually turn to something positive, like a closer-knit community... for instance, i made the mistake of calling sativalvr some childish & ill-considered things, but after a bit of mature dialog between he & i, i've come to believe that i made a new friend in the process. :)

One last thing that bugged me-
I also had to look up the definitition of "trolls" because I had no clue as to what the hell that was, and from my understanding its someone that starts crap, and then gets a new member name because he wants to start fresh, isnt that right barletta, I mean patrick?
