Onward Through the Haze

Aloha fellow firewalkers!

"Is the Glass Half Empty or is the Glass Half Full?"
Hell, are you kidding me? It is definitely half empty and more! Three sativas left to harvest and I haven't kept up with the perpetual grow. I have enough clones to start anew, but like many I'd like to grow the entire catalogue out before I die lol. So straight up or plan to do some weed whacking lol? Besides the bear says roar! Psst, I think he means moar!! Eeny, meeny, miny, mo!

IMO, build up inventory and then grow out 🤔 You never know when the next pandemic is going to hit 😂😂

Aloha fellow firewalkers!

The room is being transitioned. Bleached and timers reset for veg cycle. The last plant will be harvested today at 15 weeks to make room for the youngsters. some parting shots.

Looks delicious Mu, outstanding work!
Any special smell noticed?
She is fully loaded with trich's, I'm betting that she will smoke heavenly after a good cure.

Thanks for sharing,

Greetings.

Aloha sativa lovers and aspiring breeders!

I don't think there is anything more gratifying than growing cannabis. And when you hit the top note- well, you know what I am talking about. Touching all the senses and revealing her secrets to all willing to make the journey. I wonder what it must have felt like for Raphael Mechoulam when he discovered THC or when Albert Hoffman discoverd LSD (bike riding was never so much fun.) The first, original experience is always the best.
My firsthand and subsequent experience with Mr NIce genetics has been a Godsend in so many ways, from the medicine that helped heal my body of Crohn's to the strenghtening of mind through the learning that comes from the growing. Passion is a motivator, harnessing the creative force into action brings revelation. Which brings us to breeding. Whether professionally or otherwise, making one's own f1's adds another dimension of fun to it all.
Anyway the above is brought to you by the NL5xHz joint I smoked earlier lol. Here are some threads to bring you up to date on this project if you wish to persue:

Back Door Man (NH x Doors)
bdm 3_10.jpg

Holy Hanh Grail (BDM x Holy Hanh)
hhg 3_10.jpg

Both hybrid f1's have great vigor. Let's see where this rabbit hole leads us as I plan to introduce Mango Haze IBL pollen into both of these varieties. As they say, "Onward!"

mu

Oh BTW, here is an Holy Hanh I rescued from the bin. She was outside for over a week and while everyone else succumbed to the cold weather, she was steadfast. Stress test number one? She passed lol. I brought her back in, isolated her, sprayed her with neem and repotted her as clearly, she was beginning to suffer in her old digs. She will be a candidate for some MH IBL pollen.

Just re-read both of these reports again last week haha. I’m excited to see this culmination! Onward alright!

So nicely bushed out she looks btw :)

Aloha fellow firewalkers!

A big change since last week and now everything is decidedly green with growth accelerating. The Holy Hanh Grail appears on steroids, fanning out over they're 5x5 borders and with roots extending beyond the pots and into the tray. At their 4th node, they are a full inch wider and taller than the rest of the group. Can you pick them out?

Aloha fellow firewalkers!

I hope I am not boring you with too many details and pics. It is just that this stage of growth is exciting to me. Pre-pubescent plants have finally rooted and are now presenting with fully formed leaves. As we move from the 6th node into the 7th, they are now revealing theirselves in size, shape and color. I can see differences and it interests me to grow the Holy Hanh Grail f1's; standing alongside their uncles, the Back Door Man f1's. I was so impressed with what came from combining the NH to the Doors. And then to introduce these Mr Nice genetics into the Holy Hanh (it has Mr Nice genetics too)... Kazaam!
I'm telling you there is magic in them thar beans. I had used a BDM (NH7xDoors6) which was not as stretchy and formed firmer buds similar in structure to the doors. I was hoping to impart this larger, firmer bud structure into the Holy Hanh. Happily and surprisingly what I am getting so far from the Holy Hanh Grail are larger plants! That can't be all bad can it lol? Though I do recall the NH7 mom was large too.

I'm gonna have to admit to puffing on the NL5xHz #4 as I write this haha.
Where was I? Something about size matters. Here are some comparisons to the others in the group. BTW, the largest in each group was selected. Currently the tallest (HHG) are at 14". I will start sexing when they get to 16" and then Onward!

Not boring at all! Keep it coming! For a newbie like me it takes a moment to get behind the pedigree of the plants... But I think the early stages of growing are at least as exciting as the last days and harvest  Still trying to figure out if you are using photoshop, have a good camera or are just a very skilled grower to get that hypnotizing, shining green out of your plants... ;) I will continue my research

Aloha family!

An update. Things are progressing. The Back Door Man on the left, The Mango IBL in the center is catching up to the growth of the Holy Hanh Grail which is on the right. I am glad to be growing the IBL again and of course excited to see how my latest creation, the HHG will turn out.

Aloha fellow firewalkers!

It has been 6 week since seed was put in the ground. Everyone is coming along nicely. The Mango Haze IBL is almost as tall as the Holy Hanh Grail now, though the HHG does have more biomass overall. The Holy Hanh Grail on the right (yellow) def has some of those jungle characteristics. Check out these secondary root formation sites. They are prevalent in this hybrid. At 22 inches, time to get these to flower NOW!

Aloha fellow firewalkers!

This grow is not without some f*ups. Left an overhead light on for 24 hours, aargh. Unconscious stress testing lol. I did clean my grinders recently and was left with a considerable amount of hash. Perhaps I should cut back hahaha. Anyway, it looks like I am finally settling down. Plants are in burst mode, lights are set to 11/13 now.

Here is an example of the Holy Hanh that served as the male in the making of the Holy Hanh Grail. Two phenotypes are shown. The top more VB like in structure and high. The lower bud shows lesser purple and more Haze AC expression with a denser bud. As I was writing this, I was smoking some of it. It is a heart racer though similar in it's enhanced auditory acuity and mentally clear awareness which appears characteristic of this strain in general, though I am seeing trails on the periphery. And when I think about it, I am definitely altered lol.

Lovely pics, thanks. I think I'm just about getting my head around the AC expression now, having grown a few crosses out. Really helpful seeing other growers AC pics, and seeing similar expression!
