The premiere with SSH from seed

had to use a reverse osmosis system where the SSH female and the Angel Heart are growing. EC 0.6, sometimes even higher. Soil works! But I've never seen such vigorous growth with this water. So I can't imagine that the purchase, or the journey with this genetic line, will disappoint you. I wish you a perfect SSH. Enjoy its growth! Once it starts growing, it'll really take off. It's also great for us to see what kind of phenotypes everyone is getting!

All the best, friend of the noble cultivar
Grüẞe nach Germany!✌️
Thank you for your support. Maybe I was just a bit overwhelmed by your grows and Mr Brown’s. After thinking it through, it makes more sense from my perspective to run the SSH only when I can give her the conditions she really deserves — and for me, that will be in the coming autumn/winter.

But I’ll stay on it and I’m really looking forward to it.

Wishing you all a great outdoor season and much success with your projects.

One Love,
Penny 🌱

Go for it @PennyP :) you won't regret it.

I waited way to long to grow this legendary strain ;)

An update on the SSH grow!

The plan to pollinate with the male SSH plant's pollen has gone a bit awry. After the tent was set up for the male SSH, and he had a separate home, I saw the appointment for the gas boiler maintenance, which I'd been postponing for two years for "green" reasons. So, a few hours before the technician arrived, I decided to cut out all the pollen sacs that seemed even remotely ripe and put them in a paper bag to dry. That was five days ago. So, I'll check again tomorrow. One pollen sac on the stem was open, but I couldn't find any pollen. If I'd known that, I could have saved myself the trouble of collecting them. 😉 Anyway, I'll try my luck if I harvest any pollen. The male's replacement cuttings are still alive! I would have liked to let him flower, at least for another two or three weeks!

The SSH female is really going for it now, producing flowers!

Starting today, or at the latest tomorrow. As soon as the small tent with the eight CherryMi.cake plants is harvested and cleaned, I'll free the SSH queen from the three AH# plants in the corners. She should be a strong producer. She's been needing two liters of pH-adjusted water every two days in this 15-liter pot for a good 10 days now!

It looks like the project with pollinating the cuttings with male SSH pollen is on hold for the time being. It seems I was forced to harvest the pollen too early. I haven't given up hope completely yet. If I can collect some potent pollen for one or two plant sections tomorrow, it would be worth all the stress I've put myself through. A deserved reward for the first attempt, I think. But as I said, I still have the genetics I worked with for almost two years, harvesting several times. As well as the SSH male and the AH#7 male, which I really, really like. The structure, the smell, and it was everywhere despite the strange shades. Whether rooting, transitioning to flowering, it was consistently the fastest and most vigorous.

So, all in all, it will be better to be able to give it the attention it needs, at the very least. I always want to be doing things, only to then realize... Well, that's a bit much. Five tents, four locations! Anyway, that's how I imagined it: to perceive smells again, smells that truly evoke joy and nostalgic feelings. That's why I'm already looking forward to it before it's even over. And in between, there's the SSH2xAC test. Here's to the next straw.

As always, enough talk. Here's a photo of how the SSH female developed.

All the best to you all and have a nice Sunday. I'll say goodnight now✌️

Unfortunately, I couldn't harvest any male pollen. Even the few bags that looked full didn't contain any pollen yet. It was simply far too early. Anyway, it's planned! The SSH male and one AH male are still alive. Besides, I still have some old regular TGA seeds that I absolutely want/need to use for maintenance in the F2 generation. So, after the SSH#2xAC test grow, I'll have to come up with something in that regard. Furthermore, it would probably be crucial to let the males flower longer. So, all in all, this attempt was a complete flop! Only take on tasks you can actually handle! Otherwise, it really doesn't feel good. I'd need to win the lottery! To really create some work for myself. Well, one can dream, right? Or rather, one should? If the SSH# female is good to pollinate with an old TGA strain, we'll see. There are still plenty of days to dream. Who knows what the test grow SSH2xAC will yield!

So, with that in mind, sweet dreams to you all! Now the thread will focus on what it's actually about: Super Silver Haze! 🤩✌️

It's finally done! The SSH female has been freed from the AH# plants in the corners. She's now almost exactly on day 49 of flowering! The smell is a bit like a chemical lemon pine forest! Judging by the flower structure, I reckon there's still quite a way to go. I haven't given her the third dose of Bio Tabs PK BOOST yet. So, I'm being really economical with nutrients for this stage of growth. Today I'll give her the PK Booster again with the Greenhouse Feeding Bio Enhancer. I reckon that should keep her going until the end! But the next few weeks will tell.

This is what she looks like for now! ✌️

If you are on 12/12 I would lower it to 11/13 for this plant.
Heavy sats respond well to this.
I recognize this plant structure, you will see big buds at harvest time.😊
As I told musashi in another thread of SSH by Mr. Brown, I think the opposite is true as well.

Sativas require more light and heat than other varieties (which is also why I recommend HPS lamps, especially for sativas), so if they receive higher light intensity + more heat + longer lighting periods (constant 12/12 instead of 11/13 or 10/14), they’re in better conditions.

And according to my philosophy of growing, plants with better conditions and no stress flower faster and produce more than those with limitations such as a reduced light cycle.
But that's just my opinion, this theory may be true in some cases but not in others...

Since the day before yesterday, I've been using a day/night cycle. It's set to 11 days, 13 nights.

Based on the bud structure, I still can't quite believe it. The cutting I received before was definitely more Skunk-like. Anyway, I'm curious. It's supposed to be a good SSH 🤤. If it's not a hit this time, there are still plenty of seeds available! ✌️

A balanced debate could certainly be had about this. I'm truly not a Sativa/Haze grower. Back then, it was more about speed and weight. For example, I once had a colleague who only grew Neville's Haze, or Haze plants in general. The flowering chamber was always under 10 days and 14 hours of darkness. For me, that was completely wrong. Starting seeds under that cycle! The debates we had! It ended with us not only having to be physically separated. As a hydroponic grower, I was a real outsider back then. I often couldn't believe that the same cutting would turn out better with colleagues under 250 watts of HPS than with me, after more years under 3000 watts, the same soil, the same fertilizer. And that wasn't just a one-off, but a recurring phenomenon.✌️

The SSH is currently on day 64 of its flowering phase under a 12/12 light cycle, and has been under 11 hours of light and 13 hours of darkness for the past 10 days. Until I saw on the calendar that today is day 64, I thought I'd gotten a fast-growing SSH phenotype. It will still need its time, I know. But honestly, I hope it doesn't take 122+ days like @Mr.Brown's SSH. I'm giving it time! But will I have the patience?

Now that it's warmer outside, and the temperature in the tent has risen by a good 3-4 degrees, the SSH lady is very thirsty. She's currently drinking 1-1.5 liters per day. This is after I skipped the last scheduled dose of Bio Tabs PK Booster. She's also become lighter in color. So thirsty she is, and yet she still has a long way to go. Until she reaches her destination, I decided today, when I had to tie on some top-heavy branches, to give her what was essentially her last supper. In the form of a generous 20ml of PK Bio Boost from Bio Tabs with the Greenhouse BioEnhancer in two liters of water! This is what the little SSH Chemie lemon conifer looks and smells like! Intense scent! ✌️

Thanks @Ptree! I can't describe the aroma any better. It's like a chemically sharp lemon and a pine forest. No incense! The shape is indeed like a fir tree. I find the main bloom a bit odd. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to it. How long it will take. How it will develop aromatically and overall. How it tastes right after drying. Compared to when it's been stored for a few weeks. Luckily, summer is just around the corner. Because it always takes me a considerable amount of time to actually decide whether to keep a plant. A balcony is invaluable for preserving them! (Inexpensive) ✌️
