The premiere with SSH from seed

Today marks exactly 11 weeks in flowering! It's been in the generative phase since February 24th, 2026.

In any case, SSH#2 is really putting in the effort. It's always just trying to quickly attach its top-heavy buds. That's not enough for the grand dame SSH. So I secured it properly for its final days.

When I saw the resin, my first thought was, "Oh crap. Mold again?" Even though the conditions are perfect. It's not mold, but rather the color of the resin/trichomes maturing. SSH is now growing in a mixed bag. As at the beginning, it's accompanied by AH#1, 2, 4, and 5, which are in their second round! One is UltraSour and the other is CherryMintCake.

Since they all had the same cycle, this creates some more space.

With an SSH, how many trichomes should I expect to see that are amber-colored? Some of her buds are already amber-colored. If I had to give it as a percentage, it would be about 30-50% clear stems, 30-40% milky, and 5-10% amber. I'll mark them and maybe take test buds on different days. Is 30-40% amber too much for an SSH? ✌️
Like @Swifty said, it depends on personal preference. I think that the most important factor is to have as high of a % to be cloudy or amber, instead of clear. Also, make sure that the amber trichs you are looking at are on the bract and not on the sugar leaves. Sugar leaves will go amber well before the actual flower is ready.

This Super Silver Haze is completely different from anything I've had before. All the more exciting! ✌️
Here, we are basically swimming in the cannabis gene pool that all of the hyped strains today were bred and inbred from. Lost and recessive gene combinations can be found from shantibabas chemovars. To paraphrase him, the truth is in the seeds.

I hope that you enjoy your SSH. I found the vast majority of the SSH I grew to be flavorful and therapuetic medicine.

Great job with your grow!

Great job so far @Schlawiener :)

It's personal preference like everybody else said ;)

I cut my SSH down when most trichomes were milky with some amber (y) Just make sure to vape plenty of test buds to find the right time to harvest

And like shantibaba said, if you think she is ready give her one more week ;)

Thanks to you too, @Mr. Brown !

I will. When I looked at them yesterday, I thought they'd definitely make a good breakfast weed.

I've had a practically brand-new Volcano for years. The one for home use, and later I'll get the Mighty to go with it. Fifteen years ago, with my consumption habits (little tobacco), I already knew I would desperately need it. In December, I got a diagnosis from the pulmonologist. It's a must to switch to vaping now! I quit cigarettes immediately. But my beloved joints... 😭
But you can taste it much better with the Volcano, which is what it's really all about. Not that the joints don't taste good. But in reality, you're burning the good terpenes. Not to mention the effect. With tobacco, it's practically a crime! ✌️

Last week, the nighttime temperatures dropped significantly. Lows reached 16 degrees Celsius! I suspect this is why it started to turn slightly purple. I'll water it again today so I can check it again in a few days. I'm also putting a test bud out to dry today – the second one! Let's see if a third one appears in a few days. Will I harvest the entire SSH#2 plant at once, or give it some more time to dry? ✌️

Today, after two more days of cooler temperatures! You can see it in the photos too. The SSH flowers are turning purple. Tomorrow marks exactly 13 weeks in bloom. From my perspective, it won't have much more time! ✌️

Thanks @easty! Yes, I find her really attractive now. That's why I'm posting the photos again. Even though my talent for taking photos is very limited.
My best hint for everyone, shoot from bigger distance then what you really want..
Even if it is just litlle bit, make some breathing room for „object“ if possible ;)

Iam salivating staring at these, so shots must be allright on your side ;)

Attention SSH#2 tree - falling!

Today it got its last half liter of water. It's now collapsing under its own weight. No matter what? The SSH#2 can even make bound buds collapse! (Next time online.) The first taste? Dried quickly. The sample I took four days later was something completely different. The taste wasn't worth mentioning yet, as it dries too quickly individually in paper bags. For that, the second sample was surprisingly mild when smoked. The second one also had a completely different effect. You can see what a difference four days can make. Now it looks even more promising. Since I was just busy with a harvest for a few hours, the SSH#2 won't be hung up to dry for another 36 hours! Last Saturday I was already considering doing that. Truly one of the best tips: If you want to cut, wait another week!✌️

Today, day 99, the day finally arrived. The Purple SSH lady was hung upside down in a dark tent to dry. The air in the tent is extracted for a few minutes every hour. The entire plant was hung up to dry. I hope this will prevent it from drying too quickly!

Anyway, I'm so glad I waited this extra week until harvest, @Mr.Brown! ✌️
