Thanks for the feedback but I had no spider mite problems with this grow. I finally consistently sprayed weekly with Neem oil or Captain Jack’s and it worked great. But if I did, I find spider mites to be more a nuisance than other negative to the plant results. I have never bombed the room nor dunked a plant.
Angel Heart shows nice variety, looks and smells. Eager to taste
Whew, whatta busy week trimming. I thoroughly enjoy the trimming process, but it really does a number on thumb joint arthritis, but nothing CBD:THC cream can’t alleviate
The aroma‘s that are evident so early are very impressive. Very different to other strains I have grown with a unique tropical, must be mango smell. I really love the variety in plant size and structure and it appears as if the resulting buds will be of similar variety.
The Haze dominant girls with the tailing is also seen in their clones. I’m looking forward to sampling those two Haze dominant plants. They trimmed up to some funky looking buds. Those 2 top my list visually, so let’s see how they cure b4 smoke test.
I have nothing but great things to say about Angel ❤ and I look forward to trying to select the winner to extend. I have multiple rounds of clones ready for future production. I’m pushing the next round of clones closer to 12 weeks, especially the haze dominant ones, as I want to push their harvest day off longer to see how it affects the resulting Terpenes. Why not experiment?
VACATION FOR A WEEK AND BOVEDA PACKS DID THEIR JOB
Such a great relief to come home to 8 days of unburped jars with beautiful aromas.
Long way to go.
Clones are following same structure in a smaller size. Gonna push them out until plenty of amber, or 12 week max. I ran originals 65-71 days and today we’re at 60.
Painted a group/bucket of small clones with MEDICINE MAN pollen 6 weeks ago and those seeds look ready, so I’ll chop them soon. I had the MM pollen from that project, so figured I’d see how they mix.
Once I get to mid-June I’ll do a smoke report and pick a winner to extend the seeds.
Curing is going all beautifully, aromatically, and the sampling has me favoring the longer run, sativa/haze dominate girls of 10 weeks. Already the taste is soft and sweet with a real nice uplifting sativa high. I favor the fox tailing girls, #4 & #3, and I've set aside those clones to extend via CS.
I just harvested(3) the 1st round of mid-sized clones at 10 weeks, leaving the 3 most haze structured for at least 12 weeks.
2nd round of clones include 1 of each(6) that have been flowering for 4 weeks. I have the 4 largest in my new 4x4x8 grow tent from Ultra Yield. They’re all 5+ feet which makes the 8 ft height nice, by design, especially when coupled with a Optic Slim 480 bars which emit no heat. HUGE difference vs other tents I’m running SF4000 & HLG550 which put out heat. Those girls sleep during the day so I have no pics for now.
Final round of clones being used for pollination(#4 & #3) + I took the 5 smallest clones and arranged in a 10 gallon bucket to grow out in my DIY grow box/projection TV shell from the 90's sitting in my garage that has made it through numerous parties with no one knowing a thing Fun grow
It's xs 30 days since harvest, so I started sampling. While the Haze dominate plants of #4 & #3 are great daytime Sativa highs, #1 hits me like Mike Tyson. So much so, that I changed my seed plans and re-transplanting (2) #1 clones so I can pollinate #1 x #1, while also pollinating #4 x #4.
So I like the strongest Indica dominate one that went 9 1/2 weeks & the structure of the Haze dominate #4, 10+ weeks.
I have and use the MyDx test kit, and while I acknowledge it's not lab testing, it is about the best credentialed test kit currently on the market. I also use TLC, but that has similar +/-'s.
I actually saw that ACE seeds uses it in their website for their strains. They previously used a 3rd party test lab. That's where I got my Zamaldelica, a very nice landrace sativa.
So, with all that, I tested 2 samples off 2 buds of AH#1 and got:
21.27% & 26.91%
I tried so many ways to attach the printout, but could only do as the below attachment. Sorry.
I'm comfortable saying Angel Heart is in the 20%+ range. She's a hitter & not a couch lock. Very interactive, like right now...
Angel Heart project: How many weeks flowering to peak the terps for the Haze dominant clones.
The man himself recommends pushing the Haze genetics extra long to max the terps.
12 weeks to date:
Clone #4-Funky Finger Production, just keeps spitting out more fingers on all buds. #3 lesser structure and tri’s are 25%+ amber, so she’s getting chopped this week.
But #4 is gonna keep going. I have them on the outer edges of the room alongside 2 other AH clones at 5w & 2 Spice at 2w.
AH b smelling sweet and sticky too. Long journey will be worth it
I figured Mu would appreciate a nice contrasting background to really show details.
This pheno of Angel Heart is the most unique structure I’ve ever grown. My PREVIOUS favorite was ZamalDelica, but now it’s
So I pushed #3-Haze dominant a full 12 weeks so tri’s look plenty ready to me. So I guess you can say I pushed it good, I pushed it real good… Let’s see how a watchful cure goes.
Just about 13 weeks, still cloudy, and buds are getting fatter and phatter.
I’m just showing off amazing genetics because I’m a very simple organic grower with very little additives so I can imagine what a real master could do with this plant. Since a clone I’m just using a 3 gallon pot and lately adding molasses H2O, but just H2O here forward.
For a timeline I checked my records to see that I chose some solid clones that took only two weeks to root and I only veg’d for another two weeks before flipping. 41” tall There’s a 20oz bottle behind the main cola for perspective.
Thanks Shanti
I’m gonna call it at 14 weeks flowering by putting to dark tonight for 36 hrs then . Pushed it long enough for the Funky Coladine.
Strong earthy aromas with a sweet, citrus ending.
The bud structure alone has lead me to start the replication process via CS. The original #4, now 60 days post , is a GREAT daytime treat.
Tons of trichomes when you zoom in Yup, still throwing white hairs but enough is enough
I’m also replicating #1, the most Indica dominant pheno, which hits the hardest, grows the most fat buds and finishes 1st.
I’m loving me .
10-14w flowering is my recommendation. I found 3-4 gallon pots did better than 5-8 gallon. Sure, it needed more additives(fish bone meal, worm castings and molasses H2O), but the plants seem to grow and produce better a bit stressed.
I just wanted to remind you that Afghan Skunk is the father to Angel Heart, so the offspring also produce some nice Indica tendencies. 5 ft tall in a 3 gallon pot.
I’m finishing the process of colloidal silver on the funky finger haze variation I got, & I did the same for the strongest Indica influence strain. Both of those have produced male pods with the female pollen and I expect to shortly start collecting pollen to paint the clones I’ve kept to make some seeds.
This round of clones is wrapping up over next few weeks.
The other Indica dominant, kinda, front R, is being replicated due to its strength. Nice crystals too.
Funky fingers makes me
FINAL REPORT
I’ve harvested 20 for this run, original seeds + many clones & still have 3 last clones going + the 2 seeded clone winners, so I have a good feel by now.
1) BE PATIENT. Push the girls as long as possible. The difference between the original seed girls going 9 1/2-10 1/2 weeks vs. later clones going 14 1/2-15 1/2 weeks is HUGE. Terpenes, foxtailing growth and THC result.
2) Smaller pot worked best. 5 gallon girls were nice, but the 3-4 gallon girls were better. It’s certainly required more additives, I like molasses water or liquid squid, but better results.
3) 3 month soak to flip + 3 month flowering yields 100g’ish of tight nugs that vary in size and foxtailing based on genes.
4) If you want to show off unique looking Haze family buds, then AH is your girl. Those giant rabbit ear buds are the most unique things I’ve ever grown.
5) My FAVORITE Sativa bud I’ve harvested in my tenure, surpassing ZamalDelica. Super Sativa days
Winner Winner 🍽
I tested the canna profile using MyDx, which I certainly acknowledge is not 3rd party quality and has a +\- range, but 2 came in at 21.2% & 26.9%, and based on my experience as compared to other strains and effects, IMO it’s correctly testing in the 20% range.
