I finally made it to the Canadian west coast. I used to live in the Rockies in Alberta but my only experience with the west coast is when I drove to San Fran to see the Dead. Anyhow, I'm a big fan of trees, and we have some amazing large ones in British Columbia, Douglas Fir as well as the Giant Redwood. The next photo is of a famous one called Big Lonely Doug.

Stumped!!! The hole goes down about 10 feet deep

And finally, I was visiting in the fall so I managed to find some ripe cones from Doug (there'll be more seeds than what you see so far). Should mess with some minds 500 years from now. Gotta plant them where they'll be left alone for a while

Stumbled on this the other day in my screen print files. It's an old favorite of mine, I originally saw it on the cover of a Caballistic book , very appropriate. Referred to as the Flamarrion engraving, a couple of hundred years ago. Originally in black and white but many have taken their shot at coloring it in. I like it both ways

So far, no sign of 170 apartments being built on far hilltop. Been hard to find info about what is going on exactly. In the meantime I'm recycling buckets of soil for this summers' grow.

Hopefully summer will provide a little cover. Of course, when I moved here I hiked over to that hilltop to see what I could see. I suppose it they build someone will hike over this way? I sure would.

While I would never suggest that anyone use recycled soil, I am pleased with the results. Mr. Nice Seeds - Afghan Haze being grown outdoors November 10, 2024, in a Northern Temperate zone(upstate New York) leading to a higher proportion of far-red light wavelengths than other times of the year. Do not try this stuff at home kids, leave it to professional idiots like me! 🤪

Thanks, eazynz! :) Been growing smaller plants, easier on my arm but I sure been hankering to grow a big, big plant. Maybe I will try to grow a 10 footer in your honor! ;) Having a bit of trouble getting over 10 feet in 5 gal buckets. I will need a bigger container, good genetics that grow tall, good weather, and a shit-ton of Good Luck. Ok, you talked me into it. I'll give it a try, no promises.

This one is just short of 10 feet from the top of the soil. I think the 5 gal bucket held it back. By the end it was hard to find any soil in there, just roots. I am fan of Air Pots. I guess I need a bigger one. lol One of the Fugly's(G13 x Afghan Skunk F2 I made).
