1963 Split Window Corvette

As always, picture taken at annual Adirondack Nationals Car Show in Lake George, NY. Not sure which one as this year's will be the 34th annual.

In 1963, Chevrolet's Corvette Division came out with a split rear window option. It was the only year ever offered and back then it was not nearly as desirable as it is today. Of the @1.8 million Corvettes ever made, only 278 people took the gamble and ordered the split window option in 1963. Many owners did not like the split window and removed it and replaced it with a single piece of plexiglass. In fact some dealers even set up an option where you could have the split window removed and replaced with a single rear window :( It is unknown how many split window corvettes have survived but you can be sure that they are pretty rare.

All 1963 cars had 327cid engines, which made 250 hp standard, with optional variants that made 300 hp, 340 hp and 360 hp. The most powerful engine was the Rochester fuel injected engine.

Not sure why, but it appears that my dumb-ass(means stupid) only took one picture of the car. But, she's still a beauty!

Longball

I love US cars from the 60s and 70s

By the way isn't there a chair that is named Adirondack?

Thanks for sharing that @longball , she is spectacular.

@Mr. Brown , in the States they're referred to as Adirondack chairs, in Canada Muskoka chairs. Depends on which lakes you're lounging around at. Definitely a stoners chair, very hard to leave when baked.

On another note, I usually just use this thread for sharing photos I have taken myself (anything goes now) , but I stumbled upon this piece of Banksy artwork that supposedly showed up in the Ukraine lately. I think it's awesome. Putin happens to be versed in Judo. After googling that, it looks as though his honors have been stripped from him by the International Judo Federation (not vetted) because of his invasion on the Ukraine

There must be a worldwide stoner chair conspiracy

If you hang arround in Hamburg at the waterside we have similar chairs. We call them 'Alsterstuhl' :ROFLMAO:

Thank you, Deach69! I appreciate it! :)

A not so well known fact about the Village of Lake Placid, international tourist trap, and home to the 1932 and 1980 Olympics. Most visitor's never get to see the actual lake itself. The are no roads or villages on Lake Placid itself.
It is pretty much only a playground for millionaires. Boat or helicopter your way in. The Governor of New York has a mansion/camp on one of the islands. While there is a small public boat launch at the southern tip of the lake, folks like us are not really wanted there. In the picture that I already posted, and again below, in the center of picture, just to the left of Lake Placid, you can see a small lake with buildings around. That is the Village of Lake Placid. The Village of Lake Placid is actually located on the shores of Mirror Lake. Had my dumb ass fooled for years! :)

Old road vs new road during The Great White Wait

Here is a picture of my old road taken from my front porch. I have since moved about 2 miles away. As you can see, it is a one lane dirt road. If I was leaving and you was coming to visit me without calling, well, we would meet headlight to headlight. Someone will have to back up or we will have a 'Mexican standoff'. No one wanted to back up because the road was more than a quarter mile long with 2 turns and a hill. If you went off the road even a little bit, you would never get back on it without being winched out by a big tow truck. It was also a 'private' road, so the town did not plow it, it was up to me. I did not have a plow. It was very hard to plow because as a single lane and you cant go off the road at all, there is no place to put the snow as it piles up over your plow.

I called every plower in the phone book and either they would not do it or they wanted a ridiculous price. They all knew the road. Eventually, I found a fool plower to do it.

The deer sure liked the road as it made their life easier. In the background is a buck keeping an eye on his harem. Whenever you see a group of female deer you can be sure a buck is lurking somewhere nearby. The last few deer seem uncertain. I have one thing the buck does not have. Food! Hard to come by in The Great White Wait! You can see the road is tough to plow or even drive on . All I had was a 4 cylinder Honda Accord with all-season radials. Never missed a day of work in 20 years.

This is the old road looking from the main county road. Hard to tell, it goes uphill so you have to give it a lot of gas to get up the hill. But. At the top is a hairpin turn, most people gave it so much gas that they kept going straight, right off the road! In 20 years I never went off the road. I could see that there would be a lot of backing up to do if other cars came so I started driving out to my mailbox on the main road, a quarter mile away with 2 turns and a hill, backward. I would get mail, pop a u turn on the main road and drive to my house backwards. Pretty soon I could drive backwards just as good as forwards. It is an old trick I learned from John Dillenger.

It you look just to the right of dead center you will see an overturned plow truck. Did I mention that it was a very difficult and dangerous road to plow. Driving on it was no picnic either. I loved it but no one else did!

Here. A little better picture of the plow truck off the road. Did I mention it was a dangerous road? I just happened to be walking to the mailbox when this occurred. I went over to the truck and the driver was knocked out and I could smell gasoline. I climbed up to the passenger door and got in, woke him up, and helped him out of there. Luckily, the truck never caught on fire. But. I still need the road plowed. Finally, I got someone to come plow it but when he saw the truck overturned he did not want to do it. Dang it! I did get him to do it but he never came back.

New Road

The new road is sweet. Two lanes, plowed by the village,it is so sweet I feel like I am living in a big city now, rather than the wilderness like I was before. Just go down the road, take a right.

Then take a left.

Proceed down down the straightaway and take a right.

In a little bit you will see one of my property signs.

And then it is Home Sweet Home! :)

opt_09 P1020286.jpeg

Of course, I like summertime so much better. There is some nice flat, and sun-filled yard there to plant my medicine, and I do own property on both sides of the road, but, BUT, I do not own the road that goes right thru the middle of my property! So if I plant in the ground, someone will just drive by at night, cut down the plants, throw them in the car, and that's it. This is why I have to grow in containers at the side of the garage, hidden from police, criminals, and whoever else drives on the road. The road is part of an easement deal made with the town and a previous owner of the land over 100 years ago. Just weird to have a road thru the middle of your yard.

There seems to be pros and cons to the great white wait: pro is, we get beautiful white pictures like this. Contra is, you know.. the wait for nice longball-plants under the warm sun. Man, if I had a road like this to plow, I'd go nuts. If there were a road going through my yard, and I don't even own a yard, that would be super strange to me. On the other hand, there is plenty space to go creative. That being said: I think you should totally build some barriers and collect a toll for that road!

Thank you, @pleased420! :) I like your way of thinking. No matter how simple your growing method is, there will always be some type of gardening expense involved. I am thinking of building a very simple toll booth, something like this to offset the gardening expenses. Any extra extra money will be used to get @Mr. Brown to beautiful upstate New York for a week of debauchery. You are welcome to join us!

Hehe, that booth would be appropriate! Well, I feel very honored by that invitation  Guess I have to save a little money first, but if you and Mr. Brown are cool with it, I'll join that week of debauchery! (Debauchery - I like that word quite as well as loitering )

If it wasn't for the love of the plant this could be a great place for learning slang words in foreign languages :ROFLMAO:

The toll booth is a great idea. But since I don't have a road running through my non existing garden I think about a toll booth at the toilet door to charge my kids 1€ for every shit they take
Shouldn't take long before I can book my flight at 'Debauchery Travel' ;)

Did you know that loitering and debauchery are considered 'scandalous' behavior? They usually all go hand-in-hand and are generally done in the order listed.

Scandalous describes something that's shocking, and maybe a little embarrassing or even offensive. Your great-grandfather might be a scandalous character in your family history if he was married seven times, each time to younger and younger wives. The adjective scandalous can refer to something morally offensive, or even illegal, although it's used often simply to mean "shocking". The Urban Dictionary has a much better meaning for scandalous but I don't want to post it here as it would be scandalous and I would get banned from the site.

As this is a picture thread, I will post a picture.

Not so long ago, drinking alcohol in America was considered scandalous. This picture makes me want to drink more whiskey, not less. Each pair of lips I look at makes me want to take a good 'pull on the jug'. Not a single Autoflower Girl in the bunch!
