Were making notes during @
Swifty grow. Well, actually compiled the whole "Haze Operator Manual" for myself. Thank you, Swifty!
Thought these notes might be of use to someone:
The tent is 120 x 60cm. In the tent: 28 females over the 3 coffin-shaped like containers each 15 ltrs (average only 1.8 ltrs of soil per plant!)
Swifty’s notes: This is an important factor; plants roots can spread far more than in a small container benefitting their overall health in the long run.
Day Zero 29th Apr. – Seeds soaked
Day 5 - 03rd May – Seeds sprouted from peat cubes, temp in the seed dome is 23°C
Day 16 - 14th May – 47 Seedlings transplanted into 3 pots, Light Mix with a small amount of Bat Guano (50ml/pot) ,14 to 16 seedlings per each pot.
Day 35 - 02nd June – Plants are 6 to 8” in height, topped with only two nodes left, the plan is to vegetate a bit longer until I see decent branches on all of them and then I will eliminate 2 branches so each plant has 2 left. The goal is to keep the branches that are most uniform across the plants so I can compare them the best after flowering. When the branches are big enough to make cuts, I will make one of each plant and the branch that is left will be flowered. I use the nicest branches for making the cuts as having each plant backed up is my priority. The plants themselves will be fed lightly and not pushed.
Day 49 - 16th June – More branches were pruned last week; first signs of gender are revealing.
Day 53/ Day Zero Flowering – 20th June – all cuts were taken yesterday for back up. Should have done it earlier. Pruned the remaining branches. Only one branch remained. Plant Height about 8 to 10 inches. Flowering started with a 11/13 lighting schedule. Plan is to use Plagron Alga Grow NPK (4-2-4) + bat guano after the biggest stretch and during flowering.
Day 59/ Day 9 of flowering - 26th June Light feeding of Alga Grow
Day 64 / Day 11 of flowering - 1st July - the first male revealed himself. Plants have been cut back a couple of times now
Day 69 / Day 16 of flowering -
Jul 6, 2025 - 9 confirmed males and 2 females for now.
Day 80/ Day 17 of flowering -
Jul 6, 2025 -, feeding 2 ml/l Plagron Alga-Grow, organic liquid NPK (4-2-4) every watering until the stretch is over, the pots were amended with fresh soil + bat guano today, pruned every plant of excess leaves and branches to leave one branch for flowers. The first females are showing.
Day 84/ Day 21 of flowering 11 Jul: 14 males, 19 females, 14 undetermined
The tallest plants stand at 110cm from the ground, even after topping them several times!
Day 91/ Day 28 of flowering 18th July: So far there are 28 females, 17 males, 2 unknowns. Topped some more, feeding is still at 2ml/L Alga grow
Day 98/ Day 35 of flowering. July 25th: Pruned them again, (minimum 2 branches on every plant, smaller ones are untopped. Every plant has shown its gender now: 28 females, 19 males. I lost count on how many times I topped/ pruned them. Feeding 3ml/l Plagron Alga-Grow, organic liquid NPK (4-2-4) with every watering no bloom ferts yet. Watering more often now but in smaller doses. Temps 23-27°C. Scrog net installed.
Day 105/ Day 42 of flowering 1st August. Topped some again 3 days ago and again today while there is already serious bud formations. Still at 11on/13off. When there is no more growth I will make the transitions to Plagron Alga Bloom NPK (3-2-5). I plan to do this gradually by mixing half Alga Grow and half Alga Bloom for 1-2 weeks.
Day 114/ Day 51 of flowering. 10th August. Topped again this week these are jungle plants!
Feeding is now 1,5ml/L Alga Grow + 1,5ml/L Alga Bloom.
“Feed them N during veg and during their flowering growth surge. Then taper. Same with light, gradually increase intensity and then preferably put them off to the side out of direct light to finish. Reduce hours of light as they are known to keep producing pistils until you reduce intensity and duration.” © Musashi
Day 121/ Day 58 today of flowering. 17th August. Light is now 10h45 on and 13h15 off, in 2-3 weeks I will bring it to 10h30 on and 13h30 off.
I will not go lower for the rest of the grow. Since today I give them only Alga Bloom, 3ml/L for the next week.
Day 129/ Day 65 of flowering. August 25: Topped some today as they are getting too close to the light, these heavy sativa dominant plants can handle this with no problems.
The canopy is now maxed out around 155-160cm, gave them a lot of N from the start of flowering until 2 weeks ago to cope with early yellowing. Watering is delicate, not to dry and not to wet (35-70%). Giving them around 1-1,2L every 24-48h, depending the ambient temperature of where the tent is. I never water with waste. Temps of the roots and canopy in check (roots around 20°C and canopy 25-27°C lights on.
Day 134/ Day 70 of flowering today. August 29th. No more growth, all of the phenos are growing pistils and trichomes. Did not change anything to the setup and feeding past 2 weeks. The smell is still rather discreet.
Day 153/ Day 99 of flowering, 27th Sept.: today, starting to see good progress.
Feeding is lowered to 1,5mlL/ Alga Bloom. Started with some extra PK 0,5ml/L Greens Sensation. Lighting is now 10h on and 14off.
Day 166/ Day 112 of flowering. 10th October: Trichomes! the tent smells more like spices and liver now, it reminds me also of older books. The trichomes are starting to turn and the smell is becoming stronger. Clear/cloudy is where the fire is for sativa dominant strains.
Day 181/ Day 127 of flowering today, 25th October. Final days before harvest, a strong resin smell with spicy and more savory undertones, I can also detect a sweet/sour haze type smell. I start to see a little amber on some, the time is now! The light is lowered at 50% strength and I gave them only small amounts of water the past week.
Day 183/ 129 days in flower 27th October: Harvest! 2-3 phenos that show extraordinary trichome production. Next to that there are 3 "pearl" phenos. These were very difficult to harvest, they better smoke nice. Next time I would lower the feeding a bit quicker.
Most pheno's were done, only 2 could went a week or 2 longer.
