Impressive collection, and I can't wait to see how they grow and harvest.
And if you ever want to part with some spare seeds (especially the Aussies), let me know. Even if I can't grow outside now, who knows; one day it might be possible (and maintaining the seed stock in the meantime is important). :)

Skunkha.....Thanx mate.....I just hope this year goes just as well and I can be able to put more pics up. The responce from people in the canna world has been awesome and I would like to thank you and all the others for there awesome comments.....it always make you want to try harder.....cheers K

Mr Smoketomuch.....Thank you also. If anything comes up I will let you know:) i have never thought about doing seed before, but I can see now that will have to change.

Hey bushy.....yeah mate growing some of Shanti's and Nev's strains to their fullest is going to be a honour and something I look forward to with passion:D
It is definetly going to be a mixed bag thats for sure......seems as if I am going to have to pay special attention now to the Oaxacan :D
But i think there might possibly be something in the Africans or Panama Red as well..anyway long way to go yet to find that out:D

Test run on how to post big pics

Hi Kangativa,

With so many sad things happing in the world of cannabis these days.

This post has put a big smile on my dial, so many beautiful strains grown with love & care, the way nature intended.

Strains that I havent seen for years, infact thought my have been lost forever.

It reminds me of when I was a lot younger working like a pack mule crawling through Lantana,Lawyer vine...pulling leeches & ticks out of every nook & cranny.
But in the end there's nothing like the rewards.

So, What are we smoking there Bushweed?
N.

I've been smoking Kanga's old school Norcal skunk x haze called Mendocino Girl, which is a sweet tasting, uplifting three hours stone reminiscent of the Mango Haze (though I've only smoked the Mango in 'Dam coffeeshops so maybe not truly representative). Also the Mullumbimby Madness x White Widow (circa '94 Sensi), which is a beautiful strong uplifting high with spiritual insights and great for playing music, looking at the stars etc. Then the straight Mullumbimby Madness, which is like the MMxWW but a longer lasting high that lives up to the legend; strong, trippy jungle medicine. All of his gear tastes great and has antidepressant characteristics, but those three are my favourites of those identified. LOL:D

What are you smoking there mate?

Thank you mate.....I am glad I can put a smile on your face as that has always been the aim in my life of growing.....to keep people happy:D

Yes mate ticks and leeches are my pet hate when working in the bush, I dont think there is not one place I havent had one of them :D

"but those three are my favourites of those identified. LOL"

Yeah yeah Bushy.....I know, someone else has told me off and I am sure will also be giving me a hard time as well:D

I still go pale at the memory of a mate who got a tick right on the tip of his cock.... Gimme a leech any day.

Lol....Hmmm I think that might have been a subject kept to yourself:D
I do know what you mean though. Although I have heard a few friends brag about it when they have got a tic there:D

I just now noticed you are growing all the landraces Afropips had available at one time.

I just ordered the last of his DP from Vu-du, and I also got the last pack of his Swazi Red. I was wondering if you have ever grown out his Swazi, or are you also a first timer with it as well?

It looks like were both doing the same thing. Getting those genetics to preserve them before they are lost to time. Now I just need to get his MG, and Nigerian.

Hi Jonny,
Yeah mate this is the first time I have grown them. I also got mine from Vu-Du, they said it was the last 3 packs..lol. I guess during their trouble they found another one.
You shouldnt have any trouble getting the MG or the Nigerian as i think a few seed banks still have them in stock.

I've been looking at Kanga's photo's of giant sativa's, maybe drooling is the word I'm looking for. Now anyone who understands the laws of metaphysics and manifestation knows that nature abhors a vacuum. The universe rearranged itself to accommodate my perception of it and magically filled the void in my life and soon I was holding a half oz of Bud with no name. (Thanks mate)
I cut the vacuum sealed pack, nostrils flaring with anticipation. I inhaled. Pine, with fruity undertones. My mind scrambled to make sense of this intoxicating aroma. Synapses fired off in my brain, feverishly looking for connections to try and place the ancestry and type. Was it the Oaxacan I've been looking for? I went in again. I filled my lungs with the perfume, come on, what does it remind you of. BC (haze) an unsure voice answered. So it's not oaxacan, I demanded of the little voice. I don't think so, was the reply, don't you remember, the oaxacan had a more sugary sweetness about it. There is no point in arguing with the nose. Feeling as if I'd been let down, it was time to bring in the big guns.
I rolled a joint. I took a toke. Juicy Fruit Thai, no doubt about it. But where does the pine come in. It took me at least half an hour to finish the joint. Must talk to Kanga. I gave him a call. OK I said what is it, hoping to end the confusion. It's er, kind of mixed, he said. So you don't know, I asked, somewhat rudely I expect considering my frame of mind.(no offence intended). In the future I'll have it more sorted, he promised. I thanked him profusely and went back to work.
Thinking about how Nostradamus threw his quatrains up in the air and then published them in the order they fell to the ground, I started cracking open buds to see if I could sort them. Which one's got the pine? I made two piles, imagining that they were different. Hours go by while I try to finish the two joints, one from each pile. I analyse what I'm feeling. There is a presence to the high in the way that Haze has, but different. I get that ringing in my ears, that I associate with bud that has flourished under intense sun. I get a sense of maturity, that I imagine is the result of the plant being able to reach maximum size. So what about BC, I ask one of my schizoid selves.

I get back to the piles smelling each bud. It's all the same! Pine overtone, Juicy Fruit Thai undertone. The effect is primarily Thai, but better than I've seen in 20+ years. What about the Pine? I don't know, I can't really connect it to the Thais that I've come across. Maybe it's a hybrid. But it has been inbred to Juicy Fruit Thai.

So what about the BC I remind myself. It's inbred to Juicy Fruit Thai the nose informs me. Oh yeah, the realisation dawns on me after 25 years. The brain can be a bit slow, but the nose knows.

One of those mixed bags is a treat, despite the chagrin at not knowing the exact strains. This is one of Kangativa's many charms:D.

We all know taste & smell is subjective, but my two scents worth - there is a commonality of smell to Kanga's gear (maybe it's in the soil & the shit he digs in), but the taste tends to distinguish the lines to a degree, and the effect differentiates them further. In my experience the MM is a darker green with flame orange hairs and may be the sweet pine to which you refer, the MMWW is lighter green and very sparsely haired but with an almost mauve/beige hue to the calyxes and candy /hashy sweet (a chunky lime green bud), the Mendo Skunk Haze is also chunky and similarly light green but with light orange hairs and sweet citrus/onion taste, the pure Oaxacan is a sweet lemon (&this year has yellow leaves, & some issues with to much water and caterpillars so not up to usual potency), the Oaxacan x NLHaze is sweet lemon pine, browner looking and similar strength to the Skunk Haze. There is another 15 or so unidentified strains ranging from nice& mild to superlative. They can look like anything from NLhaze to Malawi Gold. Some of these strains look like the ones identified, but have a different effect. There is also the MM x SkunkHaze that I have yet to encounter, but in my experience anything with MM in it is simply superior dope.

I believe the MM is pure Thai or Thai dominant - probably early seventies Thai stick. Kanga has commented on similar gear that was found growing wild in the Hunter region 30 years ago, and probably Indian sativa. Neither here nor there.

Interestingly Kanga has never crossed the MM to the Oaxacan to further the affinity to haze. Nor did he cross the MM to NLHaze, perhaps thinking not to superimpose one champion on another. The results may have been insuperable.

The Juicy Fruit Thai was inbred from imported Thais in Northern California supposedly outcrossed to a shorter flowering strain but mostly Highland Thai. A friend has some crossed to Champagne. Pine..could it be a Lumbo.

No mate never used the Lumbo and what I sent Nevil had no Northern Cal lines in it, mainly Mullumbimby Madness and Oaxacan crosses as i believe these are the strains that he is looking for......The Juicy fruit Thai is possibly the MM and the hint of pine possibly the Mex.....anyway as Nevil said I will have it all sorted.
