A noticable stinch of cat piss/ammonia is present in the general area of the plants. I would refer too it as smelling very 'dank'.

This plant has proved difficult to photograph in its entirety due too its overall size. But its quite sticky to the touch already.

And another for the road. Stay tuned my friends.

Hey Land0ver,
I think the better question is when are they going to sex? :)

Its anybodys guess as to when they will be ready for harvest, there is a pretty good chance they wont reach proper maturity. But we are about to find out, thats for sure compadre'. The seeds these plants came from were originally started as a test germination in order to determine viability. (It appears they were viable lol). So mission accomplished in that sense.

From here I plan to do some basic selection in hopes of making seed for future use. You never count your chickens before your eggs hatch, so hopefully if all goes well there will be a bountiful supply of haze hybrid seeds to play with. But not so fast mis amigo's, these plants truely do have a date with destiny. As I mentioned, its anybodys guess as to when they will ultimately be finished. We're all about to find out. :)

Wow, your plants look very happy in that field, and in your care!! I hear ya about being 'alone' even way out in the bush. The other day I made a trip, and like an ass, I burned at the spot. I dropped the leash (dogs make great cover), went back, and the whole area smelled like bud. Someone could deffo equate the smell of fresh burnt dank with a (micro) field of dank. Won't do that again. I spend too much time there in the day, but I pretend that I am a native, or animal, stalking in the bush. Lots of time in the 'crouch-controlled-breathing' position.

Looks great bro, can't wait to see the buddage... :D :D

So yesterday evening I decided to run back out to the plot and move the plants. Ive been walking the line the last month by letting the plants sit as they were, as I know very shortly the helicopters will be up in the sky. It works out pretty well regurdless, because sativa dominant varietys prefer indirect sunlight as opposed to direct.

Moving the wire fence proved the most difficult task of the relocation project, but I simply wont leave my Mango Hazes completely defenseless against the array of creatures that could potentially see them as a nice, healthy vegetarian snack. Lets not forget, that are very own Hempy was growing Mango haze outdoors and a Shetland pony ate his Mango Haze plant. The pony died.

Mango Haze is a pony killer, we dont want to harm the wild life right? :D

So after the relocation of the soon to be future ladys, I discovered bliss.
I have a confirmed Mango Haze male. Interestingly enough, Ive got a local bag seed that has just started to bloom itself(female). So the arrival of the Mango Haze male marks a turning point in this threads evolution.

A brief history lesson on the man known as Rasputin, whom I named an Afghani kush plant after that proved nearly equally as hard to kill as the man himself was, yet showed grace under fire and was the first out of all the plants to sex this year. Since Ive borrowed his name, bastardized its spelling and have associated it with a Cannabis Sativa L cultivar I thought it was the least I could do by sharing the alledged story of this famous historical figure.

Rasputin-PD.jpg

Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin (Russian: Григо́рий Ефи́мович Распу́тин) (January 22 [O.S. January 10] 1869 – December 29 [O.S. December 16] 1916) was a Russian mystic who is perceived as having influenced the later days of the Russian Tsar Nicholas II, his wife the Tsaritsa Alexandra, and their only son the Tsarevich Alexei. Rasputin had often been called the "Mad Monk,"[1] while others considered him a "strannik" (or religious pilgrim) and even a starets (ста́рец, "elder", a title usually reserved for monk-confessors), believing him to be a psychic and faith healer.[1]

It has been argued that Rasputin helped to discredit the tsarist government, leading to the fall in 1917 of the Romanov dynasty. Contemporary opinions saw Rasputin variously as a saintly mystic, visionary, healer, and prophet, and, on the other side of the coin, as a debauched religious charlatan. Historians may find both to be true, but there is much uncertainty, for accounts of his life have often been based on dubious memoirs, hearsay, and legend.[1]

The legends recounting the death of Rasputin are perhaps even more bizarre than his strange life. According to Greg King's 1996 book The Man Who Killed Rasputin, a previous attempt on Rasputin's life had been made and had failed: Rasputin was visiting his wife and children in his hometown, Pokrovskoye, along the Tura River, in Siberia. On June 29, 1914, he had either just received a telegram or was just exiting church, when he was attacked suddenly by Khionia Guseva, a former prostitute who had become a disciple of the monk Iliodor, once a friend of Rasputin's but now absolutely disgusted with his behaviour and disrespectful talk about the royal family. Iliodor had appealed to women who had been harmed by Rasputin, and together they formed a survivors' support group.

Guseva thrust a knife into Rasputin's abdomen, and his entrails hung out of what seemed like a mortal wound. Convinced of her success, Guseva supposedly screamed, "I have killed the antichrist!"

After intensive surgery, however, Rasputin recovered. It was said of his survival that "the soul of this cursed muzhik was sewn on his body." His daughter, Maria, pointed out in her memoirs that he was never the same man after that: he seemed to tire more easily and frequently took opium for pain.

The Moika Palace, along the Moika River, where Rasputin was supposedly lured and murderedThe murder of Rasputin has become legend, some of it invented by the very men who killed him, which is why it becomes difficult to discern exactly what happened. It is, however, generally agreed that, on December 16, 1916, having decided that Rasputin's influence over the Tsaritsa had made him a far-too-dangerous threat to the empire, a group of nobles, led by Prince Felix Yusupov and the Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich (one of the few Romanov family members to escape the annihilation of the family during the Red Terror), apparently lured Rasputin to the Yusupovs' Moika Palace, where they served him cakes and red wine laced with a massive amount of cyanide. According to legend, Rasputin was unaffected, although Vasily Maklakov had supplied enough poison to kill five men. Conversely, Maria's account asserts that, if her father did eat or drink poison, it was not in the cakes or wine, because, after the attack by Guseva, he had hyperacidity, and avoided anything with sugar. In fact, she expressed doubt that he was poisoned at all.

Determined to finish the job, Yusupov became anxious about the possibility that Rasputin might live until the morning, which would leave the conspirators with no time to conceal his body. Yusupov ran upstairs to consult the others and then came back down to shoot Rasputin through the back with a revolver. Rasputin fell, and the company left the palace for a while. Yusupov, who had left without a coat, decided to return to grab one, and, while at the palace, he went to check up on the body. Suddenly, Rasputin opened his eyes. As he made his bid for freedom, however, the other conspirators arrived and fired at him. After being hit three times in the back, Rasputin fell once more. As they neared his body, the party found that, remarkably, he was still alive, struggling to get up. They clubbed him into submission and, after wrapping his body in a sheet, threw him into an icy river, and he finally met his end there — as had both his siblings before him.

Three days later, the body of Rasputin, poisoned, shot four times and badly beaten, was recovered from the Neva River. An autopsy established that the cause of death was hypothermia. His arms were found in an upright position, as if he had tried to claw his way out from under the ice. In the autopsy, it was found that he had indeed been poisoned, and that the poison alone should have been enough to kill him. Yet another report, also supporting the idea that he was still alive after submerging through the ice into the Neva River, is that after his body was pulled from the river, water was found in the lungs, showing that he didn't die until he was submerged into the water.[13]
Subsequently, the Empress Alexandra buried Rasputin's body in the grounds of Tsarskoye Selo, but, after the February Revolution, a group of workers from Saint Petersburg uncovered the remains, carried them into a nearby wood and burnt them. As the body of Rasputin was being burned, he appeared to sit up in the fire. After being poisoned, shot, beaten, drowned, and officially verified as dead, he thoroughly horrified bystanders in his apparent attempts to move and get up. This legend is attributed to improper cremation. Since his body was in inexperienced hands, his tendons were probably not cut before burning. Consequently, when his body was heated, the tendons shrunk, forcing his legs to bend, and his body to bend at the waist, resulting in it appearing to sit up. This final happenstance only poured fuel on the fire of legends and mysteries surrounding Rasputin, which would continue to live on, long after he had truly passed away.

Well looks like I picked a great time to move the plants, because already today there have been three fly overs with each one getting progressively closer. I would assume they are flying a grid search pattern. I was actually in the process of filling the water jug up when the third fly over took place. Needless to say, I moved pretty quickly to gain some type of cover.

What a difference a couple days can make?

A now purpling Mango Haze male.

Afternoon all,
Just returning not long ago from the plot, a Mango Widow sexed for me and is a confirmed female. So good news in that respect. Rasputten was also pulled, he gave off a very musky, lemony smell once in the trash bag which made me think twice, if only for a second. But there just wasnt any place for him this season.
Ive also had the chance to check on the Afghan Skunk x Afghan Haze another grower is doing this season. It still hasnt sexed yet, but is a mighty fine looking plant in its own right. Upon rubbing the stalk, a distinctly herbal, spicey kind of skunk smell was given off that left its mark on your fingers 10 minutes later. Good stuff. Unfortuntely I dont have my camera with me at this time, but Ill try to get a picture of this plant up before its all said and done.

Stay tuned, pictures from my earlier excursion out to the garden to come later in the day.

Update
The Mango Widow is an excellent variety, and by excellent I mean its as good as anything on the market. My particular batch seems to be very Indy dominant, and I couldnt be more pleased with the results Ive received from them. Too my understanding, its a limited edition variety and there for may or may not be easily obtainable anymore. I would certainly purchase a few more packs of this variety. Its a special line guys.

Hey gang :)
Not long back from being out in the bush, this time to feed the plants with another run of 15-30-15, which I had backed off of there for awhile for no particular reason in favor of straight water. I actually removed the Mango Haze male from the area tonight, he was developing very rapidly and in an effort to maintain control of the area I got him into another destination far away. I took some samples from him for smoke testing, have to see what he has to offer before I give him my blessing to make seeds for future seasons. Initial findings are good, hes one sticky son of a bitch for a dude. Smells quite lemon skunk like, maybe a sweeter, sugary lemon smell if I had to put my finger on it exactly. Definitely not a Mango pheno though.

Hey everyone,
Ive confirmed the existance of a Mango Haze female as of today, excellent news for the dungeon where I grow my herbs. I expect to pollinate her at the earliest point possible with the male above, and hopefully get a couple hundred seeds to work with later down the road. Interestingly enough, shes beat out an indy dominant Mango Widow in the sexing department. Heres to hoping even its a female as well :D

Great News,it's a Girl,

Looking & Sounding like things are on track, hope the next is a lady aswell:)

Some excellent pics mate:)
