Hi L33t,
beautiful pics and plants man:cool: , how are the MH females numbers 7 + 16 getting on? - from your previous posts it's looking like they're putting out the flowers / pistels the quickest, the Haze dominant male looks great as well, will you be saving the pollen from him for future crosses?, peace, Herb

Hi all . Some updates on the MH grow

Hiya Sativa Science,

Thank you for dropping by.Hope all is well.

M2M,
Hi man, how is it going man? Yes I agree from 17 females it should be a descent selection for a strain like MH.I wanted to judge this strain properly so germinated all the MH seeds I had and devoted the garden to them. The f/m ratio was 60% (18 females / 10 males) and germination rates were great too so quite happy .

Gert lush,
Nice to see ya buddy. No I didn't top any plant as I am flowering these from seed , instead just did some lst bending/tying down to gain a few inches of head space as these 2m tall growtents are not ideal for sativas Lol.Youre a true sativa lover .. you should know that LOl ;) Yes lets hope the pollen I kept gives us a few seeds to try something from that male. It looked the haziest male from the 10 so I chose to kill the rest and keep that.

Hey Herb,
The two plants you mentioned are doing great , MH#7 is the most healthy plant from all and is growing nicely and seems to be a fast flowering plant indeed , it has dark very skunky sativa looking new leaves similar in shape to one of the Shit plants I grew last year.Yes I kept some pollen not much but I hope it is enough to get few seeds to test from the plants we will pollinate(not MH).

Some more details about the grow:

I had to go abroad for 10 days and decided to leave the plants with a CFL 125w and switch of the 2x600w hps off while I was away .I didn't want to risk safety by any means , and I wouldn't want to leave the 600watters hps on unattended while I was I away . Cause if something unexpected happened I wouldn't be there to save the day..Plus I dont trust these growtents' stability at all so thought to just stick to the 125wCFL light to light the plants while I was far far away from the growroom .. just for peace of mind ..it definitely slowed down the growth and it was during the stretch period so the plants stayed quite small but now start to grow faster and grow bigger again and are very healthy .At the moment the canopy is quite uniform , that bit of lst helped a lot on this.

2-3 plants are really short and squat very similar to my short more indica looking SSH NL dominant, 'bubba dutch' pheno and have glossy leaves similar to some of my G13xSK , dark green color too. These are ahead of the rest MH in terms of fastness of flowering and trichome production. There are some SK dominant plants in the mix too that resemble the 2 SK dom SSH I had , one almost 100% identical in structure. There are some quite hazy phenos too, some have very similar leaves to some phenos AFxHaze Hempy found , and one resembles the Neville's Haze male plant that I have in the garden at the moment , with Thai/Colombian looking leaves.

And here are some pics from the MH females, all from different plants,

Hey L33t!

Looking great! Healty plants and great detailed grow log with lots of pics. I will be growing MH too, when the time allows, and this thread will become handy. With 17 ladies it will be a nice presentation of phenotypes. How is MH compared to SSH so far? Looks quite similar with those short indy-phenos and all.

If you are worried about the headroom in your grow tent, you could ditch the reflectors and hang those 600 watters vertically and encircle the bulbs with plants. You could fit 16 plants in the corners of two octagons around the bulb, with two fans on the floor blowing upwards, and grow tall plants. I grow mine that way and it works great.

Hi all

Hi SativaScience. Thanx for dropping by mate.

herb,

Yes I can see the resemblance to your NL#5xHaze! Really nice plant you got there.

mongerel,

Well as far as MH vs SSH..I think the MH are a bit more sativa expressive..and bit slower from what I see.

I only grew 7 females from the ssh but from what I experienced it seems that with MH one can find more plants leaning towards the sativa side of things.. which for me ..is great!

With SSH I got 2 short NL phenos , 2 hazy and 3 SK dominant .
With MH it seems as if more plants are sativa dominant, I only got 2 NL dom compact-short plants (one is super fast, fastest plant in the garden) from the 17 MH females , and rest have medium stretch, and 5 are..quite stretchy.

As for head space I managed to get them to fit in the tent,
while I was away from home for 10days and the plants were left with the 125w CFL lamp , the plants were in the stretch period , and due to insufficient lighting they stayed quite small..which although means less yield for me .., also means that I don't need to worry about extremely tall plants.

What makes me really happy is to see the plants be very healthy at this point ,not a single yellow leaf in the whole garden, even the first set of leaves of the plants are still on the plant n green..which can only be a good sign.

At the moment I feed them more P & K , and less N , and I am using Earth Juice Catalyst and BioBizz TopMax/Bloom/Grow/Heaven. Gonna add some Mg with the next watering too.

Thanks man! Nice to see you here

Here is a pic from a quite fast I 'd say Sk dominant plant , seems a quite good yielding plant , its around 130cm tall and has a nicely developing top:

And a closeup of the developing buds , quite fast trichome production with some sativa phenos:
