That is a pretty good idea, @DannyTwoJoints! I do practice casting with my bait casting reel in my yard. Those reels are VERY easy to end up with a 'birds nest' of tangled fishing line in a heartbeat. I do a ton of night fishing so I practice in the daytime to avoid these nighttime headaches.

What kind of fishing do you do? I have good sea angling ground nearby. Good for mackerel, trout, ling, turbot & pollock.

Hello @DannyTwoJoints! :)

A fishing question in the joke thread? Is this some kind of joke? Well, as long as I am just loitering around...3 hours from the ocean...For the most part, I fish for Walleye at night. Open-water and ice-water. They are awesome eating and they have a mouth full of of razor sharp teeth and razor sharp spikes on their fins, so there's that and it's no joke! Somebody's always ends up bleeding, so it's a blast. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt, then it's hilarious! Ya gotta go with us someday. We're all outdoor growers! :D

For fun, I go for LARGE Large Mouth Bass. LARGE Large Mouth Bass only hang out in water that is very, very, weedy. So many weeds you get snagged every cast and it tangles up your boat propeller. There should also be many fallen logs and branch's and tree stumps. Some tree stumps are submerged so if the weeds don't tangle up your propeller then the submerged stumps will break it! The water is kinda shallow, and there are trees here and there with branch's that you can't cast over or under. You can't cast that far from shore and you can't take your boat in there. So how do you fish here?

I play a little game called 'Bump The Stump'. I look for a tree stump that I can reach by casting, if I put the boat on the edge of the weedline. Then I cast my Super Secret Lure and 'Bump The Stump" with it. You HAVE to hit the stump or you are just tangled in weeds and are scaring the fish....pause...this is why I practice casting in the yard. I set up 'targets', and; I cast under and over tree branch's...I am a moron...so, because sound and vibrations travel faster through water than air, and a fish has hollow bones 300x more sensitive to sound than humans...you can be sure he heard it "Bump The Stump'. The Large Mouth Bass thinks a dragonfly, or bird, or frog, or @Fish has hit the stump. Then he hears something fall into the water. And he just swallows it! In Nature, something will hit the stump and fall into the water. Free meal for a true Predator fish.

He had to be pretty smart to get that big, but he wasn't ready for me and a power move like 'Bump The Stump'! While he was doing 'Diversity Training', I was 'Training To Be A Warrior'. Guess who won? Do you 'Bump The Stump" where you are at DannyTwoJoints? Hey, @Fish? Y'all 'Bump The Stump' in New Zealand?

I remember once trying to explain 'Bump The Stump' to a Autoflower Girl. She was understanding it the wrong way, and while I did get to cast my line that day, it was not into the water....🤩

I apologize for all this fishing nonsense in the joke thread!

Great to see people 'round the world pretty much growing and fishing the same way! People just being people. It's those damn politicians that fuck everything up!

Some politicians need to take up more wholesome hobbies to occupy their time and keep them off the streets. I think a lot of them have fallen in with a bad crowd.

And that's not the half of it. I'm at the confluence of the Hudson and Mohawk River valley's at the foot of the Adirondack Mountains. There is much hiking, skiing, and fishing to be done there. The earliest European settlers in the Mohawk Valley came from what is now southwestern Germany. Some of the mountain towns remind me of my family's ancestral hometown, Gersbach, in the Black Forest of Germany. The mountains are about the same size too. The is much German architecture and many German-American Clubs where we go to have a good time. Men in Lederhosen and women in Drindl's dance to Oom-pah music. Big plates of Beef or Venison Sauerbraten so delicious that is tastes like Victory! Oktoberfest is the 2nd biggest Holiday of the year, Christmas is the first! 🥰

We used to eat the traditional Horsemeat Sauerbraten but big money McDonald's outbids everyone for the Horsemeat so we settle for Beef or Venison. We wash it all down with Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier! Yes sir, we are balls deep in 'Big Fun' here in Upstate New York. Stop on by the next time you are in New York on 'business'.

Knock knock
Who's there?
Mr. Brown! :)

Fattening up the deer for Sauerbraten. Some of the best Sauerbraten in the world is right here in Upstate New York. The deer are hand fed the best peanut butter with nuts and whole wheat bread. The meat is so tender it melts in your mouth.
