'Hazy Haze'

I m not speculating that the South Indian is a sat/ind hybrid. As said 2 posts before, I know it to be a fact cause I 've read it numerous times from Shanti himself mate.
Here is the relevant post that confirms that BW is : Brazilian Sat x South Indian indica/sativa Hybrid

''..We test all F1 to make sure between 70/80 % of them show similar phenotypes...that is when we consider the breed a stable breed to sell. The exceptions are in the sativa strains like SSH and Mango etc... where we use aroma/taste as a main trait to breed with. When the sativa strains show 70/80 % with similar taste and smells we consider that to be a stable breed ready for the market. This can take more than 2 years to do, so alot of time and selections go into a strain that is sold from MNS.

With specific reference to MM or White Rhino, you will see a predominant phenotype towards the Afghani traits expressing themselves.Since the widow father has south indian sativa/indica x brazilian sativa you will see to a lesser percentage traits that express and combine to the afghani but vary towards either side of the gentic pool it takes its makeup from...''
And here is another interesting post regarding the WW male used in the LaNina.

Hi all
When any plant is breed to a male it takes on the males genes as it does the female side of things. The male used in this union was the Widow male which makes the white family breeds such as the Shark, Medman, BW and La Nina. The origins of this plant are South Indian x Brazilian, that means if the female side origins of G13 were say Afghani(just as an example) then 25% of the gene pool available would be Brazilian. Now depending upon the selection an individual goes with you may select out or severely reduce any Brazilan side, if your preference was towards the Afghan side of things. But that all depends upon the selector as you can see.

In short Brazilian sativa theoretically contributes 25% to this makeup.
As you see from shanti's above post , you can see in that G13WW case he says 'theoretically' . In reality though , obviously ,the indica or sativa percentage/expression may be way different.

In the case of LaNina, when we read in the description LN:''3/4 Indica 1/4 Sativa'' ,I personally believe the ''3/4 indica'' comes from the Widow side and Shanti just considered the WW male as 100% indica due its the extreme indica expression , contrary to what the percentage would be in theory. To sum up I personally speculate that LN is a WWxHaze backcrossed to WW.. ..I really believe this is the case..but I may be well wrong and things are different. There is only one way to know for sure.

well from the MNS strains i've worked with thus far...the majority of the Widow crosses tend to be very indica...for example my Shark Shocks stretched less than most of my Medman's, and the MangoWidow plants i have in veg are all very indica dominant...if the Shark is indica dominant in flowering then i must think the Widow male used was a very indica dominat male selected at the Sharks are very short for a plant crossed with Skunk#1 which can stretch a bit...also my MangoWidows are all very indica dominant and on paper it would appear very sativa so my assumption has been that the Widow is indica dominant which enhances the pain capabilities it has on many of the hybrids especially the Medi's and Sharks

Thanks for your input curious.

Regarding the ww male's indica dominance..
This is also the case with G13WW.I ve never grown the G13WW myself but in all the grow reports I 've seen I only saw short & bushy plants . On the other hand my G13SK (and other people's) were very tall (and resembled a bit the Shit which grew a bit tall on me which makes total sense as Shit is Skunk basically). I only had 1 in 10 G13SK plants to be really short . This shows a bit again that the WW male Shanti uses is and gives short indica dominant plants.

My bad dude. I was off on the S.Indian. Page got changed http://mrnice.nl/dhtml/strains.php?id=16

I thought that the climate of southern India would be inhospitable to a dense indica. The southern 1/2 of India is 20deg n to 8deg n; roughly the same as Vietnam, or Cambodia (south) + Laos (north) or Chad in Africa, or central america south of Mexico... As far as I know, these placed have sativa landraces. I was also under the impression that India suffered HEAVY rains during the monsoons, so I suppose any indicas have to be grown during the dry season.

Maybe, since the tip of india has been a center for trade for essentially EVER lol, some indica genes passed through, and became acclimatized, but not to the point of becoming a 'sativa'. I have grown a few indicas that look like hybrids, but deffo smoke like indicas. That dreamtime is a good example, but I had a pine bud x g13, and she went 11wks+, lighter green with sativa looking leaves. Was tall and branchy (still had the thicker indy stems), but was deffo an indica smoke. Calming and sedative, not energizing and contemplative (my own lil system...)

Anyway, I have that lanina in the fridge, but she has to wait until her # is called.

"Now serving #32..."

Bump for killer MrN strain lineage info. :) This thread should be a sticky.

Hey here is something I found after reading the quote that L33t posted from shanti:

Well again it depends upon what you are wanting to achieve. I use the pure Haze male line for any seed I produce with a haze. But actually sometimes if you have bred with one pure haze and then bred it to another pure haze the combination that are produced can be far more better than sticking to a single haze male. It goes somewhat similar to horse breeding. Get a few charts of well bred thoroughbreds and study the male influence. If a male from generation combines with a male with the same blood line in say two or three generations later the results can be almost magical.

It's a pedigree for some random horse. On the far right are the horse's great-great grandparents, and on the far left are the horse's parents. The father seems to be listed on the top. For this horse (RedBudRamblingSlim TWH), the same great great grandfather (MerryBoy) appears 2 times on his mother's side, and once on the father's side. I looked through some other horses, and they also seem to have certain great-great grandparent and great grandparent males repeated/reconnected. :)

EDIT - The TWH means Tennessee Walking Horse. I'm fukkin round now, and some of the lineage of these horses traces back before the revolution.

Question

Very interesting thread L33t
-SSH is made up of Haze C combined to Skunk 1 or Skunk HzC which is the male side, the female side is Haze C combined to NL5 or NL5HzC
-Mango comes from a parallel cross same as SSH but with one difference
Haze A male combined to Sk 1 or Sk HzA being the male plant, the female is NL5HzC....that is the breeding of those three plants

Can anyone tell me if the Skunk x Haze [Legendary breeder shantibaba (mrnice) has digged into the vault to bring you farmers some rare and never before released seeds!] is one of these mentioned above or a separate cross altogether, thanks, Pepè
