Hey Big Herb you do realize that if we produce exactly what you have been looking for all your life, we are not going to give it to you.....lol
Yes the decision was made today to make you suffer:p
Thanx mate for the well wishes:D

Hey Josh you want the honest truth about the beer.....I dont really drink it and if it is it is light:D
Hand me a nice bottle of Patron Tequilla and that is a different story....lol

Hemphery.....I must say he is enoying being put down:D

Today I took some clones off the early flowering Mango Haze as we believe that crossing this to the MM male might possibly bring the flowering time down on the MM and produce a Excellent smoke......Its possible this could be the one Bigherb:D
If you havent seen this MH, here are some pics of it.

:D Boags http://www.hoppsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/boags-premium.gif, Coopers http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b0/Coopers_pale_ale.jpgand Cascade http://www.hoppsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/cascade-premium.gif are the best non boutique oz beers in my humble , Josh. Crown Lager or Crownies as the locals call them are also a nice drop. http://1300wineonline.com.au/images/crown.jpg. Victoria Bitter http://www.annandalecellars.com.au/SiteFiles/annandalecellarscomau/images/large_7854_VB Stubbies.jpg is the most popular beer in oz Id reckon. XXXX from Qld is an acquired taste ( and known for making you crap like a Montezumas revenge victim) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/0c/XXXX_Beers.jpg as is Tooheys http://northbridge.elephantandwheel...ts/Your Images/beer logos/Tooheys_New.jpgfrom from New South Wales. Swan Lager , you'd have to ask Nev or another sand groper .I've never tried it .Fosters isnt fit for human consumption , thats why it's exported . Dr Purps we call em Crayfish in Oz not Lobsters mate LOL As for the thread , its still getting better . Bushy , I can just imagine you , Kanga and Nev full of Trance and chasing backpackers at Cheeky Monkeys in Byron , plying em with Star gazer then taking em back to Nimbin to have ya way with em LMAO ;) Those mango haze buds crossed with the Madness sounds like it could be something really special. Cheers Blokes.

Hi BB..... Well the decision about beer from both of us Sandgropers is Emu Export or Emu bitter is the best West OZ beer......same tastes. ohhhh its going to be a nice Grail:D

Cheeky Monkeys !!!! People will think we are someones grandparents:D
Well not Bushy !!

I would be reaching past those EMUs and grabbing a Little Creatures Pale - Mother's milk in my book!

Sounds like you guys are living the dream. Wish I was there too.

an old pal who lived in oz for over twenty years says the same thing as you locals about fosters; straight up swill seldom drank by australians.

i think we may need a time clock or some other means to define work time and play time for you guys in the hunt for the grail? are we striving for the future or enjoying all that current events may have to offer? lol. truth be known, i never miss an opportunity myself. lol. peace-biteme

Yes it does but we like it..and haze smells like kitty piss :D ..should we worry?:eek:

Don't think I've ever encountered a beer that smelt like stale piss. Some people must have wierd noses as someone was insisting that Cheese smells like watermelons the other day.

Some topic We have got into

some beer might be considered piss like but far from all

I understand traditonally in certain european areas the beer is served room temperature,This changes the taste im sure and there is actually preferred methods to serve different selections at different temps

I love beer and have enjoyed it for sometime from cheap malt liquors to some fine belgiums ,presidente in DR and I cant drink heniken in the states after being spoiled by the fresh stuff in the dam ,i recently had some great vermount beer which had a cork a first experience for me.Im no conessuier of beer but this stuff was some of the best ive experienced .As of lately I enjoy the samuel adams selections on tap and like my modelo negra

Not a close comparison but similar to cannabis the list of flavors is far and wide .Especially nowadays here in the states with all these seasonal selections and microbrewery specilaites the taste have become long listed

Also ones experience and palatte as well as knowledge plays apart

There are many flavors in beer many ranges of notes from citrus /spice/ fruit buttery/nutty and i love emm all.

Actually

Being an "all grain brewer", Most canned and bottled beers from anywhere, taste at least slightly rancid to Me.

There is a 17 gallon Micro Brewery out in My shop that ran during the late 80s until about 97. All grain brewing, special yeasts, special Hops, malted Barley from around the world. I make all styles. Everything from Cream Ales to Barley Wines. My Son asked Me to fire up the Brewery, and We just might in a couple months. Id like to brew some beers with top shelf buds in it.

I ran out to the shop and snapped a couple pics of recipes. These are My own recipes.

The barley wine ale was very strong. I had to finish it up with champagne yeast. They are the only yeast that can take the high alcohol content. One 12 oz bottle would fill Your stomach and put You on the sofa.

Heres a real winner! Only My friends have had the pleasure

Its hard work. Like growing the best weed. You start with good seed, and everything else has to be good too, if You want to produce the top shelf stuff. Just like Patron.....

Not many people know that Hops is the only plant that Cannabis can be successfully grafted on to (Frank & Rosenthal 78). So this might explain the enthusiasm many who love a toke, also feel for a "brewski". Also means you hard core ganja/beer enthusiasts can combine your hobbies in one plant. And if it is a hops grafted onto a cannabis plant - you can plant it in plain view and no-one's the wiser.

The best non-boutique Australian beer IMO is Coopers. A friend and I brewed some years ago and then drank half of it in one night. Was the only beer I've ever had that was like a smoke; had us giggling for hours. Also knew some Germans who were on a strict Cooper's diet to put on some extra weight, as its choc full of sediment. It worked, and also enlarged their livers and put some color in their face.:)

Hookin it up with Lobster and asparagus tonight.

Hey i saw that pic on the MNS photo album last night, lol. Here's a couple of comment's i left:

"Yuuummmm! Lobster and asparagus, 2 of my favorite thing's!

I'm a chef/cook Dr P and when i was young i used to get lobster on my birthday every year for a few years, when my parent's were well off, lol. I'll tell you what though, it's been a while.

Fosters too mate, lol. And what's that tasty looking tart up on the top of the screen you sly dog, lol. Cherry perhaps? Another of my favorite things (alright, i admit it, i just love food, lol)"

"Oh man, i just looked at it full size, it's making my mouth water!"

Hey Dr Purpur, i really like your post about home brewing, you really know your stuff - i aspire to your greatness :D

It's no small feat to sit a man down who is seldom more than five minutes away from his next toke Sounds like a promising start......Well since being here he has actually had to lay down a couple of times:D
He blames tiredness, but we all know dont we:D

Last night after the MM he went to bed and he still had crazy movies flashing in his head.......a little bit of Madness you might say.

Ha, ha, ha, lmao. Your a lucky man Kanga.

Hey Big Herb you do realize that if we produce exactly what you have been looking for all your life, we are not going to give it to you.....lol
Yes the decision was made today to make you suffer:p
Thanx mate for the well wishes:D

lol, funny bugger.

Dr Purps we call em Crayfish in Oz not Lobsters mate

I call them lobsters BB :) I think most people in Vic do, but i think the terms are interchangeable. Cheers mate.

Not many people know that Hops is the only plant that Cannabis can be successfully grafted on to (Frank & Rosenthal 78).

I know that :)

But a hops plant grafted onto cannabis roots won't produce thc laden hops unfortunately :(

As for the best Aussie beers, well gents i must agree that, for non boutique, Cooper's Sparkling is a very fine cooler weather beer and their Pale Ale's very nice on a hot day. Actually i drank one of their Stout's that a mate brought over on the w.end, that's nice too, i can't handle the bitterness of full on stout's like Guiness.

Although i love it, i don't drink much beer, so i'm more of a boutique man myself, lol. I love a good Heffwiezen or Wheat beer. Trappist beer's like Chimay are interesting. Red Oak make some very fine Aussie beer's. A couple of years ago i discovered what is, in my humble opinion, the finest Aussie or imported beer i have ever tasted - Knappstein Reserve Lager, brewed at the Enterprise Winery & Brewery in the Clare Valley, the famous wine production area in South Australia.

The label reads:

Carefully crafted using Sauvin hops to produce a distinctly fruity and floral beer. This exquisite Reserve Lager has a distinctive wine-like balance. Brewed with the finest quality ingredients and a minimal intervention brewing process.
Fruity and Floral it is! Quite different to your average gourmet beer. Seriously, you have got to try this. I'm no full on expert but i've tried plenty of beers in my time and this one really stands out. I think it's becoming quite well known now too.

So a few of you like the hard stuff hmmmm? :D

What about Booker's, the highest grade bourbon made by Jim Beam, 62.85% alc/vol (125.7 proof)? I got a third of a bottle of that on the shelf.

But the finest alcohol to ever pass my lips, and the only alcoholic beverage i have ever drunk purely for taste alone would be Calliope, Rutherglen Rare Muscat, by RL Buller & Son, $80 for 375ml - aromas of muscatel's and brown sugar, so rich and strong, yuummmm! - i'm sniffing a full bottle right now, lol. I have read about the 100 year old batches of Muscat that the brewers add, in very small amounts, to the one i buy. You can buy it from the cellar door for like $1000 for 375ml.

RL Buller & Son also make a delicious Shiraz, also called Calliope (like their Muscat) I have'nt bought any in a long time, but i have a +ten year old bottle stashed away. Very strong flavoured, just how i like my red wine.

Patron is Charlie Sheen's company:D

lol....I thought he was a Whisky drinker.
Patron is a pure Argave Tequila that is hand made and also comes in a hand made glass bottle......its smooth and trippy.
one shot of this and a couple of tokes on a MM joint and its stairway to heaven:D

LOL! I'm a scotch man myself, Beer is great, but scotch is better. Yep, I'm a simple man. You want to see me happy, just give me a fifth of Johnny Walker Black, and big fat bag of Haze.

Thanks for the beer advice everyone I gotta see if I can track any of those labels down.

Kanga that Mango Haze looks sweet! It somehow reminds me of my HHG(Humboldt Haze Giant) grown outdoors.

I finally got some good bud shots of my haze breeding project, check it out:

patron....

haha

ok... heres how it goes... agave is always pure... its the tequila which is diluted, sugar cane i believe.... But any great tequila is always 100 percent and exclusively from the agave plant, has to be grown in the state of jalisco, and is always ¨reposado¨

funny thing about patron is, patron is NOT sold in Mexico, barring border towns and port towns where cruise ships dock... its a tequila made for the export market... considering the biggest amount of tequila connoisseurs live in Mexico, i find it strange that patron is not sold there.... having had an opportunity to sample many tequilas for many many years, i have to say that patron is waaaaay overrated...

Try Don Ramon, my personal fave... or Jose Cuervo Tradicional

simply put, Patron is a gringo´ tequila....remember, if its not 100 percent de agave, if its not reposado, and if it isnt from Jalisco, it is SHIT

as far as beer goes, Negra Modelo as a dark, and Pacifico or Indio are two of my faves from mexico.... best beer i ever had was pilsner urquell from tap when i was in Prague... the Budweiser there is also uncomparable to the Budweiser in the States...

also, anyone ever notice that a freshly opened bottle of Corona will sometimes smell like cannabis?

love an respect
