Just on the subject of feminising males with Ethrel, I'm not advocating smoking them. I did smoke the HazeC males calyxes after feminisation, but I don't feel comfortable with smoking treated plants in general. You'll be able to pick the most interesting males without smoking them.

Hi Nevil,
Can you explain the way to best induce the males with Ethrel?
Dilution ratio with water, time and amount of spraying schedule?
basically start to finish to get a group of males to show female.
I confess I missed it in here if you have already posted this information, but this would help me loads to select a reall nice male from that OHS seed.
and the AH and SH seed too.

thanks man

Scorpion, Sam has a thread on ICMAG where he did testing with Ethrel. I dont quite recall the dosage he used offhand, but the information you need is there.

Thank you JR,
Do you have a link to it?
I will take a look at it.
My ICM account was closed awhile back but I think I can still read the text.

I think there are only two posts from Sam that give any info on his test, I read the thread at the time and he gives barely any info.

Yeah, I can't be bothered wading through the crap. He's theorising about what might happen 15 years after I'd done it. Nothin there. I didn't find any YY males, I don't believe that it's viable.

Personally, I've found Sam to be very poor on info. Etienne DeMeijer would probably be a much better guy to talk to about the work that has been done by those guys.

Cheers Elmer, it's an old avatar, just never got round to uploading it.

All the best to you too man.

Getting pretty excited over here. I just pulled My entire seed collection out of the safe. I will be going through every pack to make the selections for the haze run.
Ive got a plan for finishing up long running hazes in a separate area while I stay running my hybrids and Indicas. Already have a run of Sour Diesel/Headband clones from Humboldt going. I plan on hitting those with some Nevils Haze pollen.

Sounds like a good cross Dr. Purpur. I am about to do a similar mating, all the SSH I put into flower turned out male so to save some of the genes for future fun I'm going to keep the best male and dust the ECSD I have flowering.

A separate area for Hazes sounds very nice, I'm envious of that!

haze

i dont no if this will help neville but i still have the pure haze seed you gave me last time we met you wrote on the envelope 75% pure haze

If that's true, what would he know about seeds made by somebody else 2 years before he had even smoked the variety?

id truly appreciate if you could explain or recall in some more detail

id like to be more clear on this post ,did SAMS tell you that burning bush was an ancestor of the haze stock he gave you or the original haze period ?

SAMS post below

FYI,
Burning Bush was an Original Haze with a strong Thai influence. I named it
SamS

quoted L33t posting to me

According to Sam Haze started as Mex crossed to Colombian then S. Indian and Thai were added later by the Bros. Sam never said that he added Thai to the Haze , it was already added when the bros were developing the haze and it was before he got seeds and grew haze himself. So where do you base your claim ?

looking back on this post i dont know why i didnt just quote SAMS

I gave the Thai and S Indian Kerala genetics to the Haze Bros to use and they did. They never did add any Ceylon (Sri Lanka) genetics and I am glad because the herb in Ceylon is crap. I lived and traveled in Ceylon several times, and spent time hunting local genetics. All the local sadhu smokers wanted S Indian ganja because it was so much better, they all complained about the lack of good Ceylon herb, and loved to smoke Kerala or Indian/Afghani hash. They all said that Kerala weed was much better then Ceylon weed, they should know.

I just remember him talking about it as being a superior haze, and I was left with the impression that it was an ancestor of the '69 seeds that I got from him. In hindsight, this was an incorrect assumption on my part and not necessarily Sam's fault.
The evidence is that he did not smoke and therefore breed haze until at least '71 by his own admission. I'd now guess that he crossed the '69 haze seeds to a Thai and this hybrid was probably similar in quality to stuff that I produced with the '69 seeds.
I saved cuttings from the '69 haze seeds and he probably didn't and the rest is history.
My memory is generally pretty good, but not perfect. I do what I can to report history and pedigrees as accurately as I can. I tend to forget peoples faces at times. I remember being at a party once talking to a chick who I thought I'd never met before. She kept acting stranger and stranger until she angrily pointed out that we'd had sex together a year before. I still cringe when I think about it.
