Grail: The Ultimate Haze Hybrid

I wish that I was handy with Computers. I'd put up 2 interactive tabulated pedigree pages.
One with the pedigree of Nevil's Haze on top (as the male) and one with N.H. on the bottom (as the female). If anyone is clever in this way, please PM me. The following is my clumsy attempt at a diagram of what I mean.

Your getting the idea!
Interactive software is available here:- http://www.tenset.co.uk/index.html
I'd like to see the entire Mr Nice catalogue in a data base like this, so that people can plan their matings, and view the pedigrees of strains that they wish to purchase.
I'll also help to keep a record of the work done, and by who for posterity.
Ya never know when people are going to develop memory losses, drug induced or not.
Does anybody like the idea?

hi resinbud
Hz B was never a pure Haze plant. Nev said it expressed as a hybrid and when he crossed it with C male , the progeny was very fast flowering which shows it was not pure. Also..Didn't you notice that LN has extremely fast haze phenos. That explains the fact that HzB is nothing like HzC where the progeny usually produces plants with longer finishing times.Plus from what I read from Nev and found myself as well , the HzB is not as good as HzC , its very VERY special and different , but especially in the raw potency department I find HzC and A are superior.

Anyway I do think LN or HzB should be considered like others said as I had the chance to find couple great up to par with selected MangoHazes and NH.
Maybe Haze B was more leaning to a Mexican ancestor?
When I grew out the IBL NL5Haze seed I got from DC {my friend} I got two plants that were of interest.
One was the Lime Green, but the other was an 18 week full blown jungle sative and just kept flowering so with columbian, mexican,S.Indian, and Thai, its very possible it could have been an early sport of Pure Haze with the Mexican Ancestor as a Dominate phenotype?
all speculation on my part, just feeding the fire.

hi Scorpion

Well to be honest thats what I and Shanti said about LNs Haze when I had the chance to share some of the hazy pheno and had a discussion with him. Shanti said the pheno I had was excellent version and very similar to the mother of LN (HzB) and reminded of Mexican / Acapulco if not mistaken. The buds from my hazy keeper look kinda like some Mex buds seen in the first page of the Revival of the Ultimate Sativa Thread over icmag.

So all in all yeah I do not doubt the possibility that HazeB could be a Mexican dominant fast Sativa. But still one of the most sativa dom phenos , my hazy keeper LN plant was done at 9weeks which is really fast compared to any other similarly haze expressive plants from mns , and that was with under 3 weeks veg from sprouting plus I topped..so very fast to be a 50% pure haze even if mex dominant haze was used. But its hard to tell without having grown it uncrossed.

Looks like I'm buying some LN's next. According to LeMarcels chart its a blue line from the widow and a red line from haze. I felt like i was lost inside of a giant hopscotch playground of my dreams.

I'll also help to keep a record of the work done, and by who for posterity.

It would appear the dollar's effect on the memory is similar to large amounts of hashish/cannabis.

That's what I'm talking about Scorpion!

Now anyone who thinks that they have a candidate (or theoretical candidate) for the "Grail Mother" can simply fill in the blanks, so we all know what we are talking about. We can then anaslise the theoretical pedigree and discuss the pro's and con's.

BTW, Lying about a pedigree is punishable by Death.

hi Scorpion

glad you liked the new version

hi Neville,

Its easily edited in Windows 'Paint'
You just use the Text tool (icon is a capital 'A') and select the transparent background option which is bellow (its the second button with the set of colorful objects), oh and chose white color and right size/font for the text so any added info will look consistent in looks with the rest text .
Now since you want to take a more serious approach , I 'll look carefully into this software you linked and get back to you.

PS and here is the NH as female chart:

Grail2New.jpg

Any mistakes were corrected and the 2 above charts have the correct info for the Grail based on NH.
I think will put some more work together later see if I can get a better result

hi Nevil

Well i checked the links and seems they have interesting software. I would go for the Breeders Assistant (Generic) software instead of the Pedigree Assistant and also Get the 'Genetics Option'. The Breeders Assistant Personal Edition should suffice from what I see.

Before you decide to buy anything , check out the trial versions. You can download them for free if you haven't tried the software already , to see how it looks works etc
and if you like it you can then purchase it.

As mentioned earlier:
Legend's Johnny Blaze (Neville's Haze x DJ's BB Sativa)

Borrowing this chart from Mr. Alkaline over at icmag (but I think FOE20 had a hand in this also, if memory serves):

flo_lineage_mrAlkaline.jpg

Flo (tastes like cedar, smells like incense, pleasantly potent, clarity in high)

DJ might recommend Flo as male, but...

Flo x N.H. - sure sounds like a party waiting to happen.

T.H.G. - best wishes to you Nevil

well id lov too see the haze C squared and BC haze but neville has said the same as SAMS crossing haze to itself doesnt show improvment and actually said

although i though all long crossing the haze B female with somthin such as NL5xHzA(2) or the OSH A5 diesel might be another story

1luvbigherb

Heya bh,

the NL5xHzA(2) and the OSH A5 diesel is one and the same.
The mother of NevHz.

Tring to keep up with this thread, reading it in my leisure time, witch is a bit here and there,... My wife will eat me in a few minutes for sure!
Good luck everybody with the making of the grail, i'm so excited, it's like i'm in love again. :D
Cheers,
Y. Sam

Hi
ppl `im a big haze fan and was just searching through the net.I dont know where seedsman got his stock from but they state that there original haze was bred by sacred seeds might b worth a look heres the link they also do a strain called mamma thai which looks nice.:)

Reading this thread makes up for most of the threads i read thru the last 5 years on other boards..really.So much knowledge so much sharing info..well i just wanted to share this with u all...I'm so humbled reading this Forum, thank u ALL for making my day..love u all.:)

The problem with all the Hazes and so called Hazes out there - with the exception of Shanti and Neville's - is there just isn't a consistent body of positive reviews to make anyone think that any of them are any good.

I'm not saying they're not good. They're just not that good.

Out of all the people that Sam gave his Haze seeds to in Holland in the 80s - Nev's line is the only one that people agree is superlative neally every time. You can't tell me all the pot reviewers since the 80s have been Australian:confused:

If this fella says he's going to produce the Grail - competition be shitting their pants right now:D

Now we have a format so that we can more easily understand what is being proposed, lets get back to the plot.

As you can see, from the pedigree of NH, the average age of the grandparents is about 40 years. It is for this reason that the NH is the most useful candidate for the Grail Sire. To my knowledge, it has been inbred to Haze only once, and this came with a price.
The NL5 x Haze, from both Haze males A and B, was a very consistent hybrid. The likelihood of a good plant coming out of a small batch of seeds was in your favour. My opinion for what it's worth is that this is the best Indica/Sativa F1 Hybrids that I have grown. I don't know where you can still get a genuine 5xHz f1 hybrid today. Fortunately we still have clones. of the two best F1 females.
The price for back crossing the 5HzA back to Haze C was that the hybrid was not as consistent as the 5Hz. Maybe one in 20 females would be better than the 5Hz. Further doubling up on HzA or C will reduce the return even further. I know this from experience.
If there are other good haze lines out there, be it from Sam or the Haze bros., what are the chances of it being an F1? If large numbers of the progeny smell like cat piss, it's very likely inbred and therefore not likely to be a good candidate. A 25% Haze hybrid from a different Haze line that has not been inbred to Haze would offer more hope.
